GABUS GAME RANCH is situated just 10km outside the town of Otavi in the Northern part of Namibia. En route to either the Caprivi/Zambesi region or the Etosha National Park, this is the ideal stopover. Guests are greeted by an unexpected oasis and wild animals in abundance. All rooms overlook the waterhole, where animals come for a drink during day and night. It is like watching a live movie from the comfort of the terrace in front of all rooms, or lounging by the pool with an ice cold drink.
Animals that may be viewed are Giraffe, Black Wildebeest, Kudu, Waterbuck, Impala, Haartebeest, Eland, Ostrich, Springbuck, Duiker, Dik Dik and many more. This is also an ornithologist's paradise, with an abundance of birds having their home here.
A game drive with our knowledgable guides is the ultimate highlight of any stay. Guided hikes are offered for active people, and for the super fit, an excursion to the stalagtite caves, which is a 5 - 6 hour activity, is a wonderful adventure.
To experience the full scope of everything on offer, an extended stay is recommended.
The meals consist of venison from the farm and garden fresh vegetables and salads. The food offered is of high quality and renowned for being one of the best in Namibia.
Do yourself a favour and book one of our very spacious and comfortable en suite rooms, all air-conditioned.
We also offer hunting opportunities on the neighbouring farm.
The little town of Otavi is nestled among the mountains. From afar the Uisib Moutain on the northern side, the highest peak with a plateau, can be seen. This is the direction to take to reach Gabus Game Ranch. As one enters the town, signposts indicate the direction towards Gabus. Pass the silos of the Mills on the right and then exit onto the C39 road toward Outjo, and after another 2km turn into D3031 for about 8km when you will reach the Farm Gate to GABUS GAME RANCH. It is approximately a 15 minute drive from town.
The road is a good gravel road and can easily be travelled by light passenger vehicles. During rainy conditions, please drive very slowly.
