As a romantic getaway, a writer's retreat, or a busy family's headquarters for adventure, Sunnyside is just right for your mountain escape. You'll want to return every season! Sunnyside is a 4-acre private property with a 3-bedroom, cedar-sided home perched high above the quaint and historic village of Tunbridge, VT. Tunbridge is best known for the annual Tunbridge World's Fair in September, the Tunbridge Store with a full deli and many local food items, and the 4 picturesque covered bridges that attract tourists from all over the world. Regardless of the season, there is much to do! Summer fun includes river tubing on the White River just down the road, swimming in many local swimming holes, hiking for all skill levels, and antiquing opportunities in every direction. We are on the route that many recommend for experiencing optimal foliage beauty in the fall and the property is surrounded by hills covered in vibrant color at that time of year. We are in close proximity to many skiing areas including Killington and Stowe and sledding, skating, and cross-country skiing are right out the back door or less than 5 minutes away. Popular destinations such as Quechee Gorge, Woodstock, Hanover, NH (home of Dartmouth College), and the Appalachian Trail are all within 30 minutes of the property. Though activities for all ages abound, R & R is also found here. If you are looking to simply watch the sun rise over the village from the deck with a hot cup of coffee in the morning, cross the open sky while you enjoy a nap in the hammock in the afternoon, set into the hills to the west while you roast marshmallows around an open fire, then make way for the moon and the stars to dazzle you into the night, then this is the place for you. Our home has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 5 comfortably with one queen bed in one room, bunk beds in another, and a single bed in the third room. All rooms are freshly painted and beautifully decorated with nature as their inspiration. The full bathroom has been recently renovated in soft, soothing hues. The great room has an open floor plan that includes an eat-in kitchen and a living room that opens out to the front deck and a spectacular view of the valley. The rear deck includes a new furniture set for dining al fresco and surrounds guests with lush gardens and birdsong in the summer, fall, and spring. The finished basement is perfect for watching movies, playing board games, and just hanging out after a long adventurous day of fun.
