The Space*****FORT McMURRAY UPDATE***** I know my property is a LONG way from Alberta and the current Fort McMurray fore, but if any displaced Fort McMurray folks need a temporary remote place to stay, I am opening my Adirondack Camp for free to help with the situation. Contact me with your info. This is a very rustic Adirondack Camp on the second largest lake in the Adirondacks. There are two bedrooms, one with a king bed and one with a queen. Bathroom has a rustic flush toilet (bucket style) - no shower. No running water. There is an artesian well on a private trail behind the main lodge where there is fresh mountain spring water for drinking and cooking. The lodge has electricity. No Internet but there is cell coverage (AT&T, Verizon). This is a remote and peaceful/quiet getaway lodge/camp. It is at the base of Bear Mountain and there are hiking trails that connect with the trail up the mountain. This is a wonderful spot for outdoor recreationists and enthusiasts. Incredible conditions for kayaking and canoeing. Fly and bait fishing right off the shoreline. There is a kitchen with stove, oven and microwave as well as a coffee maker and refrigerator/freezer. All dishes, cooking ware and utensils are in the kitchen. This is a spot for those who like to rough it with a little style and comfort. It is a combo of camping and cushy! Guest AccessYou will need to either paddle in to the property or hike in. If you have a boat there is a very old dock with a difficult landing, but it is possible. There are water taxi services at the Marina in the village of Cranberry Lake should you wish to have a water taxi take you in. You can also fly in with a float plane if you are a pilot, or, you can charter a float plane out of neighboring Blue Mountain Lake. Interaction with GuestsI will be there to meet and greet you and get you settled in and "show you the ropes" of the lodge and the area. I am more than happy to show you the private trails and the outdoor opportunities of the lake and nearby Oswegatchie River. The NeighborhoodThere are a few other privately owned camps and lodges on Union Point (where the lodge is located), however, there is usually little interaction as everyone is quiet and usually there to simply enjoy the quiet solitude of the area. Getting AroundKayaking, canoeing, boating, hiking...or if you want a winter experience, snowshoeing and XC skiing. Summer and autumn is perfect hiking time, so get those hiking shoes and boots ready for some of the best and least crowded hiking trails in the Adirondacks! Other Things to NoteAgain, there is no shower, and the running water in the camp/lodge is out of the lake and not potable, so either bring the drinking water with you for your stay so I can show you the Artesian Spring behind the lodge for drinking water. This is a very remote and very rustic lodge and camp. This is not for those who are seeking luxury accommodations. This is a combo of roughing it and having a blissful and rustic camp.lodge with some amenities (kitchen, fridge, wood stove, enclosed screened porch to enjoy beautiful sunsets, electricity and cell coverage)

With a grass lawn, the beach is sandy with a gentle, gradual drop-off. Again, very safe for young children. The High Peaks Wilderness area, directly across our drive, offers you hiking, biking on endless trails and canoe access to the Stoney Creek Ponds and the Racquette River. The popular Ampersand Trail is minutes up the road, as well as one of our favorites, the Deer Pond trail, a gentle hike for children. Golfers will enJOY the Saranac Inn Golf Club, ten minutes up the road founded at the turn of the century and designed by Scottish pro and architect, Seymour Dunn; this 18 hole course was designed using the natural terrain to provide a great golfing experience with lovely mountain views. Adventurers can traverse 30 miles of waterways that connect the lakes Oseetah, Kiwassa, Lower and Middle Saranac Lakes. Travel through the lock system which raises and lowers your watercraft to the level of the connecting lake. Take note- there is no lock access to the Upper Saranac Lake thereby granting you an extremely quieter lake experience especially at the southern end....it is pristine. At the Paul Smiths Visitors Center, you can explore gentle hiking trails and learn about the Adirondack region. And be sure to check out the whole wild world of the Adirondacks in Tupper Lake at our Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks. (Also known as "The Wild Center") On Sunday, you can ride your bikes or walk to the Chapel bound boat which takes you to non-denominational services at Chapel Island, a short ride away. Secluded, yet very convenient to all amenities...23 minutes to our Olympic village of Lake Placid, 11 minutes to Saranac Lake, 8 minutes to Tupper Lake, 2.5 hours to Montreal. The Adirondack Airport is a 20 minute drive up rte 30. Please also review my VRBO listing #402594 which has a property video.

Camp Kidura includes wireless, high-speed internet access (for those that want it), a laundry area with washer and dryer, cable television, linens and housekeeping at the end of your stay provided. It is with great excitement and anticipation that we began our memorable times in the Adirondacks . We have built it for years of family fun and memories in mind. We share our home in hopes of other families creating and sharing memories, like ours, for years to come. Camp Kidura was named after two brothers who, on a slow afternoon at work one day, decided to finally realize their dream Adirondack home after a childhood of only visiting. Welcome and enjoy. There is a fire pit for camp fires, and an expansive lawn for games. The lovely deeded, semi-private shared beach (Upper Saranac Lake) is a 5 -7 minute park-like stroll from the home through a quiet, sparsely populated neighborhood. Book directly with the owner and reduce your fees! Evergreen Camp, set on a calm, private lake, has two cabins: Pine Bank, a family-oriented, historic hunting lodge with 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms & Little Ben, a rustic ADK cabin with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Pine Bank has its own small beach and a grassy shoreline with sandy lake bottom - small children easily wade into the lake. The large, well-equipped kitchen and ample seating make it easy to cook for and serve the whole, big family in style. Both cabins are right on the water and offer panoramic views. Family groups often enjoy renting both cabins, so that those who require or enjoy more privacy have a 'getaway camp'. There are plenty of boats: 2 canoes, large rowboat, kayak, and stand-up board; 2 boat docks and a floating dock (for diving). PB's main room is large enough to handle the 'whole crowd' for meals. 2 refrigerators, 2 stoves, two gas-grills, and a barbeque pit make cooking for a crowd easy. The beds are all real beds (many with very comfortable mattresses) in actual bedrooms, for your 'good night's sleep' and privacy. The private Silver Lake Shoreowners' nature trails include sections that can be walked by everyone from the very young to the very old. Enjoy a peaceful, family spot in Northwoods paradise. Pets considered. Contact me to get the link to our website with video walk-throughs of both cabins! Both can also be rented separately, depending on the size of your group.
