The SpacePLEASE NOTE: During the holiday period 24 December 2016 till 8 January 2017 our room is still available, however we are unlikely to be able to accept requests for short stays less than 5 nights. Feel free to submit any requests though, and we will accommodate where we can :) Our Apartment is situated on the 3rd storey of a small apartment complex in a quiet, leafy street. It is a modern two bedroom, two bathroom apartment - the first belonging to my partner & I and the second is the guest bedroom and bathroom. The third floor is accessed by two flights of stairs from the ground floor. We offer an underground secure car park for our guests to use, and a push bike is also included for getting around town. The guest bedroom features a comfy Queen size bed with electric blanket during the winter months. In the bedroom you will also find a spare blanket, an oil heater, fan, study desk, TV & DVD player, a large built in wardrobe and an umbrella for rainy days. The bedroom has great natural light coming through the floor to ceiling glass opening onto the huge north facing balcony. We also have another smaller balcony with views of the city. Our apartment is fully furnished throughout, including a fully equipped chef's kitchen, BBQ, reverse cycle ducted heating and cooling, full laundry facilities and high speed Wi-Fi internet. Continental breakfast is always available for guests to help themselves to, and all linen is provided including towels. We also have other necessities available for you to use in the guest bathroom such as a hair dryer, shampoo and conditioner, shower gel and toothpaste. We are a young and friendly couple who are looking for professional, neat guests for short to medium term stays starting from 2 nights. 1 night stays are also possible but a small $10 cleaning fee will apply. We offer a full clean of the guest bedroom and bathroom including linen, at least once per week for stays longer than 7 days (or on request). Our rates are $83 per night, $510 per week or $1765 per month, plus $7 per night for an extra guest. We are very flexible with check-in times, and can usually arrange for your arrival anytime day or night in most cases. You will find brochures in your bedside table highlighting some sights to see or to help you get around Canberra. If you have any questions about the room or your stay in Canberra, please feel free to ask us! We heartily welcome our guests and hope they will enjoy their stay with us in Canberra. David & Shantara Guest AccessOur guests will enjoy their own private room that opens up onto the large north facing balcony. Our apartment has two full bathrooms, one of which is immediately adjacent to the guest room for our guests and visitors to use. Interaction with GuestsWe are happy to accommodate both fun outgoing guests as well as those who wish to keep to themselves. We're available to offer advice to our guests on what to see in Canberra, or how best to get around. The NeighborhoodWe are located in beautiful leafy Turner. We are just a few minutes walking distance from the Jolimont Centre, Canberra City and The Australian National University. There are hundreds of shops, cafes, restaurants and attractions within walking vicinity from our apartment. Getting AroundWe offer an underground secure car park for our guests to use, and a push bike is also included for getting around town. The Canberra Civic bus interchange is also just a few minutes walk us and from there you can get a direct bus to just about anywhere in Canberra. Other Things to NoteThere is no lift in the building - but it's only two straight sets of carpeted stairs from the ground floor to our apartment. On arrival we will happily assist our guests to bring their luggage upstairs.

Other Things to NoteCanberra named the best place in the WORLD... again ABC report October 7, 2014 OECD rankings have yet again confirmed what many Canberrans have long known; that our city is the best place to live in the world.  A story on the The New York Times's new site The UpShot, titled "Want an easy life? Try Canberra", trumpeted the results from a second report from the OECD, ranking 362 regions according to an increased nine measures of well-being from their 34 member countries. Canberra ranked Australia's most liveable city The Canberra Times 3 March 2014 Canberra has overtaken Adelaide as Australia's most liveable city. An annual survey by the Property Council of Australia asked 5,400 people across 10 cities to rate their city on the issues that matter to them. Canberra edged out Adelaide and Hobart, scoring highly in outdoor recreation, education, and safety. Pizza oven, playgrounds and tennis courts are available close by. Interaction with GuestsOptional interaction. We live close by and are available to assist you. The NeighborhoodSet up in the 70s as an intentional, cooperative community, Wybalena Grove is highly sought after by locals. The community includes many public servants and academics, most typically with environmental sustainability or international development interests. One of the more aesthetically pleasing and environmentally integrated architectural designs in Canberra, some people have said that Wybalena Grove's clustered housing somehow reminds them of a summer camp or resort-type complex. Wybalena residents tend to be well educated and well travelled, as such they are also very welcoming of international visitors. This is great to keep our community vibrant. Our neighbourly pizza oven get togethers are thus regularly inclusive of interesting newcomers. Nearby the local shops at both Aranda and Cook (each 10 mins walk) have been recently been made more cool with popular, relaxed but funky inner city style cafes. If you want a great big mall you'll have to go to Belconnen or the city, both 10 mins drive. But a bit nearer by, the mid-sized Jamison Centre has two big supermarkets, bakeries, fruit market and a few restaurants etc. You've got it all really. Come visit! Getting AroundRegular buses to the city and Australian National University, usually 15 mins depending on traffic. Frequency is every 15 mins in peak times. Cycle via off road sealed paths all the way to the city crossing only a couple of minor roads. You'll cycle mainly along paddocks and around the lake. Gorgeous! Walk to Jamison Centre, Cook shops or Aranda shops. The University of Canberra, Australian Institute of Sports (AIS), Aquatic Centre and Calvary Hospital are a 15 min cycle or 5 min drive. Other Things to NoteWant night life? We even now have a little bit of that - with the new hipster bar called 'Bolt Bar' open every night and offering pub dinners too. It's just 10 minutes walk away in Aranda. There are also cafes at a similar distance at Aranda, Jamison Centre and Cook Shops. Want to get a little exercise? Bring your bike or take a walk around locally. You can walk up Mount Painter to get 360 degree views around Canberra (see our photos). Canberra has the best and safest bike paths in Canberra, and you can ride right down to the lake, via Black Mountain playground and the National Museum to the City Centre and Parliamentary Triangle. This is one of the best places to stay in Canberra if you want to enjoy what is so unique and special about Canberra - they don't call it the Bush Capital for nothing!
