The SpaceTHE APARTMENT:
This studio apartment is a truly unique space with a really lovely, welcoming feel. It has been brilliantly designed by an architect to make the most of the space and comes with all the mod cons.
It is a fully furnished apartment within a very large Victorian house. The accommodation comprises of: sofa, washing machine/dryer, coffee table, glass table facing the large sash window, fully equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer, oven with hob, kettle, blender (but no microwave), mezzanine bed area with double mattress, 1 lovely bathroom with toilet, basin, 'waterfall' shower and heated towel rack.
Although it is a 'studio', the ceilings are extremely high and there is a staircase which leads up to the lovely, cosy mezzanine bedroom area where there's a TV so you can lie in bed and watch DVDs.
The flat has fantastic links into central London:
- 3 minute walk to St Margaret's train station (30 mins to Waterloo)
- 15/20 mins walk to Richmond train/Tube station (20 mins Waterloo on the train or District Line which takes 30 mins to Victoria)
- There are numerous buses including the 33 route which takes you to Hammersmith in 15/20 mins, and from there you have access to the Piccadilly Line and Hammersmith & City Line (just 2 stops to Westfield shopping centre).
- The 490 bus route is a few minutes from the flat and goes to Heathrow airport (Terminals 4+5), so you can easily get here from the airport on just one bus
It is difficult to know where to start when describing the surrounding area because it is so beautiful and there is so much to do. The apartment really is in a fantastic location, 7 mins walk from Richmond Bridge and the river, 8 mins walk from Richmond town centre with it's great shops/restaurants/pubs, and 15/20 mins walk from Richmond Park.
Heading in the other direction, St Margaret's village is on the doorstep and has every convenience, i.e. Tesco, cafes, a butcher, a bakery, a couple of fab restaurants, etc. What is nice is that you are in a great area away from the very centre of Richmond which tends to always be really busy, but if you want to access it, it's on your doorstep. And if you can't face the 8 minute walk, the bus stop (30 seconds from my front door) will take you to there in about 3 minutes!
Although you are only 30 mins away from the centre of London, you can really feel like you are in the middle of the countryside when walking along the river path watching the boats, or in beautiful Richmond Park watching the deer! Twickenham riverside is also lovely and it takes about 20 mins to walk to a couple of great pubs right on the river. You can also visit Eel Pie Island, famous for being an old musical haunt for the likes of The Rolling Stones who used to play there regularly. Guest AccessYou will have access to pretty much everything!
- Free wifi (I'll just give you the password to put into your iPhone/Tablet etc)
- 2 x flat screen 30in TVs - one in the main room with Virgin Media so you can watch digital channels like E4, More 4, Film 4, ITV, Dave, 5USA. 4SEVEN etc, and one in the bedroom area where you can lie in bed and watch DVDs which will be left out for you.
You are also welcome to use my stereo w/CD player/radio/tape player; my iPod dock and my digital radio. You will also have access to all my CDs plus my lovely guitar!
There is a washer/dryer in very good working order which you are also welcome to use.
This flat will be entirely your own for the duration of your stay. It is inside a huge Victorian-style house and the communal areas are very well kept.
All I ask is that you leave the flat clean and tidy but otherwise I would like to feel totally at home and enjoy your stay here.
I fell in love with this place when I first viewed it and I know you will love it too. Interaction with GuestsYou won't have any interaction with me aside from when we initially meet so I can give you the keys and show you around and how everything works, although it's all pretty self-explanatory. I'll be staying elsewhere but of course feel free to call me if there are any problems. The NeighborhoodMany good restaurants, bars & pubs within walking distance. Beautiful river walks & boat hire along the Thames.
