Hop in the hot tub after a day of skiing, hunting, fishing, biking and take in the spectacular view of the valley floor with the cascades in the backdrop and the Methow river 30 yards to the west. This property faces west so it gets daylight and sunsets later than anywhere in the valley. The House shares 5 acres with another rental property of mine called Aliwood. VRBO #503768 . The combination of the two makes this a perfect compound for a family retreat or wedding. The house interior is rich with knotty pine walls, a huge stone hearth and views galore. all bedrooms have lodge pole furniture cozy duvets, and Ralph Lauren sheets. All the rooms afford views with the master having two porches from which to sip your morning coffee. The bunk room has six bunks, (but will have four after the remodel), all with colorful Pendelton blankets. This room has a door to a deck facing the river. The kitchen is new with modern amenities, a sub zero and a six burner cooks cooktop. There are indoor and outdoor dining spaces. The house is only 1.5 miles from Twisp, 7 miles from Winthrop , 25 mins from Mazama and Sun Mountain Lodge for groomed trails or 25 mins to Loop Loop for downhill. On the same property is my house, Aliwood, also with a pool and hot tub. .VRBO#503768. You've never seen anything like it. Let's start with the house; an eccentric, artistic, retrofit of a barn and a standing vernacular home connected by a greenhouse/hot tub room that makes you feel cozy and in the middle of the wilderness at the same time. Artisan touches include exquisitely carved beams, functional metal sculpture, a 'wildstyle' fireplace and hearth, a spiral staircase picketed with apple and pear limbs, an outdoor swinging bed (the dream machine), and other details too numerous to mention. Summer or winter the gathering spot is the huge kitchen/dining/living room area where kids can play, adults cook, and slackers can pull books off the well stocked shelves and ride the plush couches or comfy chairs. In summer you'll move out from there to the giant wrap around decks complete with two hanging beds, for cocktails and river viewing. And in winter you'll retreat the opposite direction to the Fred Flintstone hot tub room for a soak in the unique hot tub. Upstairs find a sleeping loft furnished with a queen sized bed and two twin beds in an very cozy alcove. Open the window in the summer and let the sound of the river take you down, down down... The master bed and bathroom are also on this floor, both airy and oversized, with a star gazing deck perched off the bedroom. The bath is equipped with a steam room and his and her sinks. There is also a bunk room adjacent to the master but not separated by a door. Down the back stairs there is a bedroom furnished with a queen sized bed and another bedroom with a queen and a set of bunks. Both are paneled in warm pine finished the old Scandinavian way- sans trim. Beautiful! The downstairs bedrooms share a bath equipped with a 6' claw foot tub accessorized with shower hardware. The floor is limestone pavers which feel great in bare feet- especially in winter when the hydronic heat warms them. Downstairs further is a T.V. room with a large sectional which can serve as two twins and a twin futon couch . On the porch are two hanging beds, the most sought after cribs in the summer. We have slept six (kids) on the king sized bed. It has magnificent views of mountains by day and stars by night. The other bed is a full and has a view of the river! In Summer slip out the back door to explore the Magical Methow. The property stretches along 1500' of riverfront with many shady nooks to view wildlife from (you will see many many deer, otters, and various other critters here) or write in that journal you've always promised yourself you'd be attending to. And fishermen- seize the day! This stretch of the Methow has a huge population of rainbows, cutthroats, and, in the fall of the year, steelhead. Flies only please! In winter you can traipse along these same byways with only the hush of the river and shush of your skis to accompany you. Birdwatchers also take note- the Methow Conservancy surveyed the property and found the highest concentration of migrating songbirds in the entire valley here. If your objective is sheer relaxation, wander no further than the paradisical pond, complete with huge decks, a gazebo, and a pure sand beach, that lies to the north of the house. The olympic size trampoline pretty much provides for the kids all day entertainment. Also, if this house isnt big enough for you we have another house next door with a pool, jacuzzi and four bedrooms. Keywords: house, ranch, farmhouse, estate, retreat, lodge, bohemian palace, weddings

The SpaceWith a warm wood-lined vaulted ceiling and custom ironwork, our cabin has a luxurious feel inside. The main bedroom, laundry room, kitchen and living room are on the ground floor, with a second queen bed in the upstairs loft. Each floor has a full bathroom, and the living room has a futon for sleeping extra guests. There is a nice bit of yard space and a quick one-minute walk through city property finds you in a stunning setting at the edge of the Methow River. Though the house is located just off the highway, it's tucked into a grove of cottonwoods that maintain a country setting. We are on the outskirts of town, but close enough to walk in to the bakery or farmer's market. We hope you will be comfortable in our home, and let us know if we can add anything to make your next stay even better! Guest AccessGuests will have access to the entire house - we only keep one closet locked with our personal items.
