The SpaceOnce inside our traditionally built shepherd's hut you'll feel you're in a boutique hotel. The dining area transforms to a 6ftx5ft bed with feather duvet and Egyptian cotton linen. Smart shower room features a large shower, basin with storage cupboard and WC. Kitchen facilities include china, pans, cutlery, wine glasses and even a teapot with cosy. The double induction hob is easy to use, and there's a Smeg combi oven with grill. Waiting in the kitchen will be free-range eggs from the field next door (you'll see the chickens that laid them, and the two llamas they live with), bacon, bread, and homemade granola. There's a toaster, kettle and Nespresso machine, with tea, coffee pods, milk and sugar. Snug and warm inside, the hut is made to a design shepherds of old would recognise, complete with traditional wool insulation. Contemporary comforts include double-glazed windows, a blown-air heating system, and a TV you can watch from the comfort of bed / dining area. Guest AccessEnjoy a drink on your private deck - there's brazier and barbecue plus charcoal, firewood and kindling. Guests are welcome to explore the owner's large garden, have a swim in the outdoor pool (mid May to early September), and play on the tennis court (let us know if you'd like to borrow racquets and balls). The old orchard, where The Little Fox Hut is located, is completely your own, and has parking for up to two cars. Interaction with GuestsWe're very happy to help with anything from information on local restaurants, walks and attractions, to an Aspirin for a sore head or a plaster! However, we completely respect guests' privacy. Just send us a text, email or knock on the door if there is anything you need. The NeighborhoodWe're less than three miles from Winchester, in the heart of the South Downs National Park with its glorious walks and scenery. Take your pick from the incredible number of gourmet restaurants available in Winchester, or explore closer to home or further afield in a cosy pub or bistro. Southampton is 20 minutes away by car, the New Forest less than half an hour. Getting AroundWe provide parking for up to two cars next to The Little Fox Hut, and lots more parking is available if you need it. A taxi from Winchester costs around £10. There is a bus, but it's very infrequent. You can walk to Winchester across the fields. With a little notice we're happy to drop you off in Winchester. Direct trains from London Waterloo take from 57 minutes. Other Things to NoteWe have two dogs, a Jack Russell and a Labrador. They are friendly, and might say hello, but they know that The Little Fox Hut is not their domain! We also have four young children (also friendly!). A flock of chickens live in the field next door - we'll make sure some of their eggs are in your breakfast pack - and they live alongside two cute, and surprisingly large, llama.
