The SpaceWe offer a beautiful house away from town and distractions. The home provides three bedrooms (1 queen bed, 1 full and 1 twin plus futon), plus a loft with a futon and air mattresses. We also have a full kitchen, gas fireplace, woodstove, hot tub, stunning views and privacy. Attractions in the area include biking, hiking, fishing, golf, start gazing and relaxation. The property is situated near the town of Union, Oregon. Union is a charming area, with a municipal golf course, a couple of coffee shop/restaurants and a penchant for festivals. The larger town of La Grande is about 20 miles away. It offers some very nice restaurants, shops, a movie theatre and Eastern Oregon University. The primary attractions for vacationing, however, are the non-urban recreational opportunities. In the winter, Anthony Lakes Ski Resort is an easy drive from the house. Even nearer are snow shoe and snowmobile trails. In the summer, Catherine Creek State State Park and the surrounding forests offer plenty of space for trout fishing, hiking, bird and wildlife watching and general wilderness relaxation. Prices include 4.8 % for Oregon lodging taxes.

The SpaceThis home was built by my parents and log home craftsman Don Dickerson in 1979 out of large, hand hewn spruce logs. It has a rustic, elegant ambiance that is unique. We recently renovated the home adding top quality finish materials and modern amenities. The welcoming but elegant feel of the house is accentuated by hardwood floors, granite counter tops, oriental carpets, chrystel chandeliers, antique furniture, leather couches, original artwork and fine bedding. It has a gourmet kitchen (farm sink, professional, dual fuel range) capable of feeding a crowd. Two massive floor to ceiling stone fireplaces grace the main living areas, both upstairs and down. There are spectacular views out every window. It is located on 250 acres bordered by Wallowa Whitman National Forest. There is hiking, snowshoeing and wildlife right out the backdoor. You are within minutes of The Elkhorn Crest Trail and many Wilderness access options. Anthony Lakes Ski Resort is 45 minutes away. It is a 12 mile trip into Historic Baker City and 45 minutes to Sumpter. Behind the house there is a grassy, wooded area with a large fire pit, water access and picnic table. Make smores, tell stories or simply listen to the elk bugling across the meadow. The house has a large wrap around deck, including a furnished, covered sitting area. There is a garage and entryway to store gear and plenty of parking space. The entire house and grounds which includes two creeks and hiking trails. I interact via telephone or email as much as they would like to get all of their needs addressed. Katie Morrissey is their local host and housekeeping service. The beauty of the wild, the sound of quiet and the opportunity for long visits with family or friends. A visiting group will require their own transportation. This space has a great history of family reunions and informal business workshops. The entire house and grounds which includes two creeks and hiking trails. We invite you to enjoy our secluded, peaceful, custom house in scenic Northeastern Oregon. The property is located near the town of Union, and a bit further from La Grande. Nearby are: a golf course, the Mt. Emily Recreation Area, Anthony Lakes Ski resort, and Eastern Oregon University with its campus and theater department. The Grande Ronde scenic drive is a beautiful way to spend an afternoon. Baker City is also in the area, with museums, a historic downtown and the Lewis and Clark Trail. The area hosts many activities, including music festivals, bike races, a stock show and running events. The house itself is like no other. The home has been remodeled with custom detail. The gleaming wood floors have inlaid patterns, the cathedral ceilings are open beam, and the kitchen is open to the house for easy interactions with family and friends. The bedrooms boast window seats which may urge you to indulge in a good read. On a cool evening relax by the gas fireplace, or stoke up the woodstove. In another mood, enjoy the hot tub on the porch while you gaze across the valley. The house sits on its own 48 acres, so you will have to look sharply to see another house! Deer, elk and other wildlife are plentiful and roam the hillside and meadow. Kids are welcome at the house, but if you have very small children we may want to talk. The house is not in any way child-proofed. It has a one shower, but no tub for splashing little ones in, and the stairs to the loft are not for playing on. We want you to enjoy your stay, so please keep this in mind. No pets are allowed. Additional fees may apply: - More than 4 guests | 20 USD per day The handcrafted house is conveniently located in the foothills of the Wallowa Mountains, the Western gateway to the Eagle Cap Wilderness. Hiking, fishing, skiing, and mountaineering opportunities abound. Wildlife roams in profusion. The Wallowas and the Elkhorn Crest provide excellent backcountry skiing opportunities. For a more civilized skiing experience the Anthony Lakes ski area is only about 50 minutes away and provides maintained Nordic trails and alpine skiing. The town of Union is six miles away, with its collection of Victorian homes, the Hot Lake Hot Springs and a most charming Victorian cemetery. La Grande and Baker City are also nearby. On the other side of the Wallowas, Hells Canyon and the Joseph/Enterprise area provide additional recreational opportunities. The area affords ORV opportunities. If you wish to bring your vehicles, please do not ride them on the property.

This Craftsman style home (built circa 1910) is the perfect place to enjoy a private, romantic holiday. Or, bring the kids for a fun-filled (and educational) vacation. The rich history of the glorious mining days and the Old Oregon Trail is very much alive in Baker City. Visit ghost towns, see the actual wagon ruts from the gold rush days and watch daily programs demonstrating what it was like traveling West in a covered wagon at the Old Oregon Trail Interpretive Center (6 miles). This vacation home has been lovingly updated with all the modern conveniences and is very clean and comfortable. Enjoy dining (or just relaxing) on your private, partially covered deck. Bring your pole and fish in the Powder River, less than 1/2 block away. Let your cares drift away with the water as you stroll along the river on the newly opened Leo Adler Memorial Parkway. This is a wonderful paved walking trail accessed just a few houses down. It follows the Powder River and provides a unique and relaxing route to the library, park, museum or sports complex across town. $50 Cleaning Fee per stay 7% Tax (Does not apply to stays of more than 30 days) Additional fees may apply: - Lodging Tax | 7% of rent | Does not apply to stays of more than 30 days

The SpaceWillow Creek BnB Open for One Whole Year! June 15 in Summerville, Oregon Friends of Willow Creek (Un) Horse BnB, I'm so happy to announce that as of June 15th, we've been open now for one entire year! It's sped by, despite a lot of hard work and a few scheduling snafus. Originally, this was to be a "summer job," but it was so much fun, I didn't close. Low and behold, right through the holidays and beyond, guests just keep on coming. But here's the kicker: Not one horse! Nada. Zip. So, the offer still stands. If you are the first horse guests, you get your first night free! That's for you, your kids, your friends, your dog and your horse. That's no kidding, either. All you need to do is book for two or more nights and it's on the house. Lots of good riding trails are now snow-free and have been cleared of winter downfall by the fabulous Back Country Riders group. Come ride among wildflowers and pine trees. As happens in NE Oregon, winter gave way to summer with scarcely a nod to spring. Ah, yes, the lilac trees bloomed magnificently, and the water troughs thawed, but that was all the warning we had. Then, suddenly, 94 degrees, wipe your brow and break out the fans! This year I'm paying special attention to the yard. Imbler High School FFA holds a plant sale every spring, and I couldn't wait! I stocked up on annuals and a few perennials, rushed home imagining these flowers wrapping the house in a profusion of color, texture and fragrance. Then, Mt. Emily put on her last coat of snow and tossed a feather boa of low-hanging fog around her neck. Temperatures dropped to just above freezing at night with daytimes in the low 50s. The flowers, the newly planted garden, and the cats hunkered down in suspended animation, awaiting the promise of summer heat. This week, it looks as if the promise will be fulfilled! Our horses, slick and fat, have had their spring tune-ups and are ready for the riding season. What a bunch of old gals they are now. Sadie is 31 this year, and although she can't go as long, or as steep, or as rocky as she used to, she still looks beautiful and loves to hit the trails. Amazing. Here's the guest report: During the first year, Willow Creek has hosted 73 groups of people, averaging two night stays. I don't know how many individuals this makes, but quite a lot! One family has just reserved "their" room for a third visit - they have a new grandbaby in La Grande and t like giving their daughter and her family private time when they come. Even though we welcome pets, there have been no dog fights, no cat or chicken chasings, no furniture jumping and no yard damage. Our animal guests are every bit as considerate as their people. Who'da thunk it? (Although I advertise $10 per night per dog, I find I've never once charged anyone. Now the precedent has been set: Well-behaved dogs stay FREE! Poorly behaved dogs don't stay!) Our guests have included two groups from the UK, a gentleman from Sri Lanka and his lovely wife from Romania, two groups from Michigan, lots of people from Portland and Seattle, and an assortment of college kids and retirees. The young people renew my faith in the future of this country. I'm not being dramatic. They are so positive, so bright, so kind. I think we're going to make it, if they're in charge. Yet another mountain of linens await in the laundry room, leering insolently at the beleaguered washer and dryer. Thank goodness for my willing, wonderful helper girl who does the heavy cleaning and makes up the guest rooms. I don't know what I'd do without her! Seriously! That's all for now, friends. The Space*** The hot springs soaking tubs on the yurt patio are in the "trial" phase, meaning we can't promise they will work for you. Recently they have been working consistently, but if this is going to make or break your trip here, please contact us for the current status*** The Yurt at Grande Hot Springs Resort is situated at the base of Craig Mountain. We're located about 7 miles from downtown La Grande and Eastern Oregon University. Our fully outfitted Oregon made 16' Yurt sleeps 5 comfortably. The "Ladd Canyon" Yurt sits on the west side grounds, a short distance from the Office/Lodge. In the Yurt you will find a log bunk bed with twin and full size mattresses covered in soft cotton sheets and comfy bedding. For additional guests there is a full size futon. For your convenience there is also a mini fridge and coffee maker. We provide coffee from Mt. Hood Roasters, the best coffee in the state, in our opinion! Out the back door you'll find a private outdoor oasis. Relax in the two vintage clawfoot tubs filled with hot springs water directly from the source. Locally sourced blue pine plank fencing surround the stamped concrete patio. There's a picnic table for outdoor dining and a couple of outdoor chairs, perfect for star gazing. The restrooms and showers for the Yurt are located a short 1 minute walk away in the Office/Lodge Building. These are open 24 hours for your use. This is a rustic glamping experience, located in a natural environment, while we always do a clean up of the yurt just before guests arrive, you may encounter insects, bees/wasps or small frogs during your stay in the yurt. Resort Facilities available to Yurt Guests: Walking Trails, Outdoor seasonal pool and spa (Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day), Laundry Room, Horse shoe pits, Firepits with free wood provided (available only when fire danger is low). Guest AccessGuests have exclusive access to the entire yurt, and a private fenced patio with picnic table. Restrooms/Showers, seasonal outdoor pool/spa, firepit, laundry and walking trails are shared with other Resort Guests. Interaction with GuestsGuests may message/email me or visit the Office during business hours for any questions they may have. After hours I'm available through Airbnb email/messages. The NeighborhoodUnion County has so much to offer. Ladd Marsh Wildlife Area, Morgan Lake, Catherine Creek State Park, Mt. Emily Recreation Area, Union Museum, La Grande Farmers Market, Elgin Opera House, Eagle Cap Excursion Train, Eastern Oregon University. Venturing a little farther will allow you to experience Wallowa Lake, Joseph Branch Railriders, Hells Canyon, Oregon Trail Interpretive Center, Town of Sumpter: Railroad, Goldmining Dredge, Flea Market. We are located 1/2 mile from the Grande Tour Scenic Bikeway. Many activities/businesses are seasonal, check in advance for open hours. Getting AroundWithin La Grande there is public transportation, but not to or from our location or outlying areas. Other Things to NoteThis is a Rustic Glamping Experience. We provide all the bedding, you bring everything else you would need for camping. Towels, toiletries, cook stove, flashlight, bug spray, etc. Pets are not allowed in or at the Yurt. The restroom and showers for the yurt are not located inside the yurt, but are located a short walk away in our Lodge/Office building. *** The private hot spring soaking tubs are in a "trial phase, meaning we can't promise they will work for you.
