The SpaceThis is a fully furnished and equipped, holiday home on 10 privates acres within Eaglereach Wilderness Park which is a 1000 acre bushland resort on top of Mt George. A bottle of sparkling white wine, chocolates, breakfast cereals, tea and coffee are provided with each stay, as are clean linen, bedding and towels. Guests have free use of Foxtel pay television, WiFi internet and mobile phone. On the ground floor, there is a bright living room with three sofas (one being a sofa bed), a TV, reverse cycle air conditioner, and a slow combustion wood heater. French doors lead onto the veranda which has armchairs, a breakfast table and chairs. This leads to the luxury spa which seats 4-5 people. Downstairs there is also is an oval dining table seating 6-8, plus a large desk for computer use. The fully equipped kitchen leads to a back veranda, gas BBQ, rain tanks and paths to the forest walks. There is a modern bathroom downstairs, plus a laundry with maching machine and second toilet. Upstairs, the main bedroom has a queen bed, a large sofa and desk area, and air conditioning. The second and third bedrooms each have a double bed. All have electric blankets. The walk-through bedroom also has two armchairs. The front and back verandas lead to the luxury, heated spa which is surrounded by a gazebo, with its spectacular views in all weathers of the Barrington Tops and Paterson valley. At the front of the house is a picnic garden setting, open barbeque and parking for 3-4 cars. Guest AccessGuests have access to the whole house, except for a store cupboard under the stairs and a store room for tools. Guests must respect the facilities such as spa and BBQ. Washing off make-up/tanning lotions before a spa is important, or the filters clog up. Cleaning off excess food and fat after cooking on the BBQ is also necessary and hygenic; use a wet cloth while the BBQ is still hot. Smoking is NOT permitted inside the house; however ashtrays on the veranda and picnic area are provided. Guests are asked to use them and not litter the gravel paths around the house. A fire is set inside for guests in winter; extra firewood is in the wood shed. The outside fireplace near the picnic area is for kindle only; chopped firewood is hard to burn and expensive, so guests should gather wood from the surrounding paths and forest floor. Fire restrictions vary; in warm or hot weather outside fires are usually forbidden. Interaction with GuestsGuests should ring the agent Eugene Hempel, or the owners Joanna and Joachim Hempel if there are any problems. If the guest's phone does not work in this remote area, there is a mobile phone in the bottom drawer in the kitchen. The NeighborhoodThe property is 2.5 hours north of Sydney, conveniently located 12km from Vacy, 45km north of Maitland, near wineries which are close to the historic towns of Paterson and Gresford. In addition to the many games held in the chest at Wallaby Leap, guests have free use of the resort's tennis court, walking trails, games room with table tennis and pool, swimming pool, outdoor fitness centre, children's playground, fishing ponds, picnic areas, swimming lagoon and 4WD tracks. Guests may dine in, or use use the resort's gas barbeques or visit local restaurants. Eaglereach has a fine restaurant, but bookings are essential. See our Information Sheet for details about local attractions. There is a wide variety of flora and fauna at Eaglereach, with lush rainforest on one side and ancient trees and cliffs on the other. Wildlife abounds at Wallaby Leap and on the mountain, with kangaroos, wallabies, possums, goannas, king parrots, kookaburras and eagles. We have even had an echidna visit Wallaby Leap's back veranda. Getting AroundWallaby Leap is only reached by car. There is parking for 3-4 cars close to the house, and a dirt drive skirting the lower front lawn can accommodate more cars. There is much to see in the region: an afternoon drive through beautiful country will get you to one of the fine wineries or olive groves; a day-long visit to the Barrington Tops will allow you to see more rugged and spectacular country. The SpaceThere are several living spaces in the homestead making it ideal for a group of friends to share or a couple of families. There is a lounge with dining area, a large eat in kitchen, a formal lounge / library, a billiard room with beautiful open fireplace, large verandas and alfresco dining area. Downstairs there is a master bedroom with dressing room and ensuite as well as a nursery. Upstairs there are four bedrooms, a sleep out, full bathroom with claw foot bath and a play room / 2nd lounge. Bedroom 1 has one single bed, Bedrooms 2 & 3 both contain two single beds each, Bedroom 4 has a double bed. The sleepover has two double beds. The garden is extensive with manicured lawns and hedges, trampoline for the children and plenty of space to run. The river is easy to access and beautiful for swimming and picnicking. It is an easy walk to town for coffee and browsing of antique stores.

The Spaceand Sunday 9am till late. Farmer Hotel Vacy ph. (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). Hours opened Thursday and Friday 6pm-8pm,Saturday 12pm to 2pm-6pm-8pm and Sunday 12pm -2pm. There are also eateries in Paterson. As we are an independently run house (as are many others on the mountain) the Reception area will not be of any help to you as they only look after their own houses. Just a warning as they can be rude. You have use of the facilities at the resort i.e. Swimming pool, tennis court (put your name and times on the blackboard at the court), table tennis in the pavilion, BBQ picnic area, children’s playground, work out area and many walking trails around the resort ‘.Moonabung Walk’( Steep) ‘the Rainforest Walk’( Steep) and ‘Trig Station Lookout are good. If wanting to try your luck catching yabbies’ find a long stick/branch and tie a small piece of raw sausage or meat with string to a branch to make a fishing pole. You will have to bring your own meat or string for this. Please place all rubbish in the bins provided outside the entrance. Also put the rocks back on the lids to stop the Goannas going through the rubbish. Bins are collected every Tuesday. The fire will be set for you in the winter months. Extra wood in the wood box on the verandah, near the BBQ. Kindling can be collected from around the house area.

Neighboring suburbs include historic towns of Morpeth, Woodville, Paterson and Dungog, and Maitland too is just 7km away. Newcastle's stunning coastline is a 40min drive away, as are the a Hunter Valley's famous vineyards. While public transportation is available (buses and a train station in Maitland), private vehicle is best option for getting around the local area. The regional airport is at Newcastle and the closest rail station is at Dungog with transfers available by Gresford Bus Company Coach (Ph. (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)). Distance and road travel times from start points to the retreat at Allynbrook are indicatively: Maitland - 50km via Tocal and Paterson - less than 1 hour. Newcastle - 80km via Maitland - 1.5 hours. Port Stephens - 114km via Dungog - 2 hours. Singleton - 50km via Glendonbrook - less than 1 hour. Sydney - 220km of which 127km are along the freeway - travel time varies by start point in Sydney but about 2.5 hours. Other Things to NoteThe River Wing, School House and French Wing are available for a minimum stay of two nights. Exceptions apply during major concerts or holiday periods with a stay of two nights or more requested per suite. The Retreat is available for couples and is not suitable for children. Cancellations made a fortnight or more in advance of the booked arrival date enable the deposit to be used in the following twelve months else the deposit is forfeited. Cancellations made a fortnight or more in advance of the booked arrival date enable the deposit to be used in the following twelve months else the deposit is forfeited. Deposits are reusable by you or as a gift voucher. Tariffs applicable to the rebooked nights will apply.
