What is a Picoplat?
The Picoplat is a small bird found in my country, that makes a beautiful song.....
"The Song of the Picoplat is the song of the soul of Trinidad, a melody of easy joy and spontaneous celebration. It is a song that encompasses all the colours and textures of humankind, a New World island tune that echoes with fragments of melodies and themes from all the ancestral continents."
This quote is from Peter Minshall- renown Mas maker
My sincere hope is that guests experience that Joy in this space......
I prepare delicious healthy breakfasts using herbs and fruits from my garden, and optional afternoon tea or light dinner is also available. Guest AccessGuests have access to the property through the pedestrian gate, and the home, through the Pink front door.
An inside parking spot with gate remote, is available for an extra fee.
Guests are welcome to relax in the verandah, or in the many relaxing areas in the garden. Interaction with GuestsI love interacting with guests, and am happy to show them Trini hospitality!
I am conversant in both French and Spanish! The NeighborhoodThe neighbourhood is quiet, and well maintained, and 15 minutes from Port of Spain.
My neighbourhood is part of the old capital of San Jose de Oruna, and the area is replete with beautiful old houses, rich history, and a spectacular view from my home on the crest of the hills of the Maracas valley mountains to the north, and the plains of Caroni to the South.
The parrots are a sight to behold, as they transition home every evening!
Many times, you can observe a humming bird or two, whizzing by in their quest to gather nectar, from the flowers in the garden, as you relax in the garden patio, under the shade of the West Indian plum tree.....
