The SpaceYou will love this beautiful southern Utah retreat. Nestled in front of a secluded ridge where eagles soar and deer roam, our view looks out over our horse ranch and magnificent view of the valley. The sunsets are breathtaking. A hiker's paradise minutes from both Snow Canyon State Park (which rivals Zion in its beauty), and beautiful Pine Valley, you are still just 15 minutes from historic St. George with its restaurants, shopping, theaters, museums, Indian petroglyphs, and ongoing seasonal events, numerous golf courses, -- a favorite nest for snowbirds. An easy drive to Zion and Bryce National Parks, Lake Powell, and Brian's Head ski resort, and just 2 hours from Las Vegas (if things become a bit TOO quiet for you!) You will love our hot tub under the stars, fabulous stone/wood burning fireplace, large ranch-style great room and fully equipped kitchen, with high wood beam ceilings and hardwood floors. There is a large dining table plus bar w/ stools, 3 large comfortable couches, chairs looking out view windows, a large love sac, Wifi, TV/DVR/stereo, 3 bedrooms, plus a casita over the garage, with mini kitchen, full bath, TV/DVR, 2 queens (one is a sofa bed), bunks, plus ample additional sleeping pads which can be used in any of the rooms, 2 cots, 2 pack n play cribs, bedding/towels, cupboards full of family games, tons of toys and puzzles for the kids, a treadmill, and patio with a view. We have horses (that may or may not be on the property during your stay), chickens (fresh eggs for your breakfast), and 2 friendly goats. Guest AccessBeds and extra pads and bedding should you have extra guests, towels, washer, dryer, basic kitchen appliances, (coffee maker, blender, toaster, etc) dishes, cooking basics, large dining table, fireplace and firewood, outside gas BBQ, fire pit, hot tub, horse shoes, small fishing boat if you have a trailer hitch. (Small lake W trout up the road). We have full RV hookup for a small additional fee to cover extra utilities used. If you want to bring your own horses, we have space to accommodate them if you make prior arrangements with us. Interaction with GuestsWe can be there to greet you and give you a tour of the property and instructions, or if we communicate adequately, we can just leave a key. We will be available by phone or text for questions. Someone will be at the barn twice a day to check on and feed horses/goats/chickens, but will not disturb your privacy.
If you are visiting from afar and would like us to take you on a tour of the area or to some local sights, we can certainly make those arrangements with you. We want this to be a relaxing, fun and memorable visit to our area! The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is very quiet. Our neighbors respect the night sky policy of keeping outside lights low or off in the evening. Neighbors are very nice (as long as you observe the speed limit!) Open land surrounds us for hiking or walks. We are close to Bonnie Springs road which is great for ATVs and goes up into the hills. 5 min up hwy 18 from our turnoff is the small town of Veyo, which has gas, groceries, 2 small restaurants, a Family Dollar Store, the famous Veyo Pie store, and even a roller rink which can be leased out! There is also a natural hot spring fed swimming pool up the road with great snack bar, camp area, stream for fishing for crawdads (kids love it). The pool is emptied and refilled each night and water is crystal clean without chemicals. The pool of course is seasonal, open in the summer. In the winter, there is often snow to play in just up the road (if there isn't any at our house). There is a fun sledding hill. (Pending weather conditions of course) We are just on the snow line, so when there is snow, there is just enough to enjoy, but not enough to hinder travel back or forth into town. Getting AroundThere is a shuttle that runs from Bluff Street in St George to Las Vegas airport or SLC. We recommend you rent a car. There is no public transportation from St George to Dammeron Valley (17 miles) Other Things to NoteWe will leave a notebook of instructions for the house and property and suggestions and brochures about activities, restaurants, attractions, etc. in the area.
There is a fenced area outside where you can keep a small dog (the fence is not high, and will accommodate dogs as long as they aren't high jumpers), with a covered area where you can put bedding for your pet and keep food and supplies. Please no dogs in the house, PARTICULARLY in carpeted areas! Small dog can be kenneled in the laundry room. Be aware that very small dogs are at risk loose outside unsupervised as we have coyotes, eagles and hawks in the area.
