The SpaceAwake to the sun rising over the Grand Teton. A covered front porch is perfect for enjoying morning tea or coffee and mountain vistas as you plan your day's activities. In the winter, enjoy relaxing by the propane fireplace après ski or cozy up on the couch with a good book while sunlight floods in through the windows. The functional kitchen is open to the rest of the common areas for optimal light, flow, and socializing while cooking. Guest AccessGuests are welcome in the common living, dining and kitchen areas, as well as on the front porch and back deck. Feel free to use the washer/dryer as needed. There are also lines for air-drying in the laundry room and over the fireplace in the living room (especially convenient for layers, gloves, and hats post-winter recreation). Wireless internet access is available, so feel free to bring your computer or other devices. I also have a wood-fired sauna in the back yard that you can enjoy during your stay! Interaction with GuestsAs your host, I will most likely be present during your stay (though travel for work and pleasure are a regular part of my life), and I am frequently in and out of the house throughout the day with personal work and recreation. If our schedules align, I would love to share a meal with you during your stay. I've been living in the Tetons for the past 10+ years and am happy to share suggestions on recreation (what to do, where to rent gear, directions to trail heads, and visits to National Parks). As an outdoor guide and educator, I have spent countless days exploring the local area on foot, by bike, and on skis. I would love to advise you in the following areas: hiking, backcountry skiing, rock climbing, mountain and road biking, resort skiing, mellow floating on the Teton River. The NeighborhoodSpoon Creek is a small, friendly neighborhood about 1.5 miles outside of Victor, ID. In the summer, it is an easy bike ride to access restaurants, breweries, the grocery store, the library, and perhaps even some free community music! In the winter, you could ski to town (along the road). Any time of year, your car is also certainly a viable transportation option! Jackson Hole, WY is a 45-minute scenic drive away over Teton Pass, if you are in the mood for a bit more action. Getting AroundSadly, there are minimal/no public transportation options in/around Teton Valley, ID. There is a "commuter shuttle" to Jackson that runs on weekdays only (two morning runs to Jackson, two afternoon runs back over to Teton Valley). A car is highly recommended for getting around the valley and accessing all the recreation options the Tetons have to offer. Other Things to NotePlease note that I am a dog owner. My dog loves people, is generally well-behaved. She'll greet you with exuberance upon your arrival. We're working on her "territorial tendencies" with other dogs around the house, so at this time we are not accepting dog visitors.
