There is a wonderful video of the property and the house on our website, just under the banner on the homepage - WhisperingPinesOregon. We have over 300 feet of river frontage, 400+ feet of creek frontage, on 2.75 acres of land. The B&B portion of the house is upstairs, with separate entrance. It features two bedrooms (each with a Queen bed) and 1 full bathroom, a sitting area, and a small balcony over looking the property. The entire unit is available to you (we do not rent it out to more than one renter at a time). Price will depend on if you need 1 bedroom or 2 (second bedroom has an additional $50/night charge). Summer recreation can begin as soon as Spring begins to burst through the ground once again. Spring and Fall are lovely, and much quieter than Summer time fun on the river. Winter is a good time to nest here - write, reflect, create. As you enter Whispering Pines, you will discover that it sits on a gated, private parcel, bordered on the West by glacier-fed Marten Creek, and to the North, the McKenzie River. Your days and nights will be on a property that is just shy of 3 acres, rich with old pines and leafy ferns. It is tranquil and quiet - a perfect get-away place. The common area in your vacation home features two fireplaces, lots of window seating, and plenty of outdoors to roam, explore, and reflect. This site is unusual because of its close proximity to the water. You won't find many sites like this one. We, your hosts, live on the main level, which is 2400 sq feet, and you would be in the upper B&B wing, which is 700 sq ft. This upstairs BnB wing has two bedrooms (a Queen in each), and a twin sofa bed in the sitting area. The upstairs bathroom has a separate shower room, and the balcony offers views of the property. The upstairs wing is connected to the main floor via an enclosed breezeway - which gives your upstairs wing complete privacy. There is plenty of outdoor seating along the banks of the river, on the back decks, and on property. Paths through forest lead you to Marten Creek. Large rocks that rise above the river allow you to fish in the river, or when water is warm, to jump in and float. Outside fires are allowed as code permits. Amenities in each bathroom include hairdryers, magnifying mirrors, shampoo, lotion, Q-tips cotton balls, and (of course) towels. HVAC throughout, and washer and dryer, ironing board and iron (although most never have a use for this in your laid back, easy lifestyle here). We are non-smoking property, and a shoe-less house. You are welcome to bring "inside" shoes (slippers, etc) for the house. The area is rich with water falls, rivers, streams, hiking trails, fly-fishing, rafting, kayaking, biking, cycling and even rock climbing and tree climbing. Hunting season begins in fall, guests are responsible for their own compliance with local and state codes. There are many local boat ramps available to the public. Ike's Pizza, small restaurants and cafés are nearby, as well as a market. There are plenty of local things to do, as well as day trips for the area, and we can offer suggestions based on your interests. We know that your dogs are part of your family, so dogs are considered as long as they are house-broken and trained, cleaned before entering common area, and kept off furniture. The enclosed breezeway allows you to isolate them until you are ready to bring them into common area. An extra cleaning deposit ($15) is required upon checkin. You are expected to scoop their poop - and we have doggie bags here for that purpose. Fees vary by number of rooms occupied, and nights stayed. See "Guest Access" for full disclosure, but you would have entire wing for yourself - we do not book more than one party at a time. Guest AccessOnly one booking at a time - you and your family will be our only guests for the duration of your booking. Pricing is based on room usage. One room is for published rate, night; two rooms is an additional $50/night. Local taxes (8%) paid directly to host upon arrival (along with any pet deposit) in cash, or can be added to AirBnB bill. The Whispering Pines Airbnb rooms occupy the 700 sq ft upstairs private wing, consisting of 2 queen bedrooms, plus a full bath with separate showering room room. The wing has an entrance off the breezeway, and is completely private from the rest of the house. The breezeway connects the upstairs wing with common areas. The main portion of house features the Great Room which offers full access to river, and paths around property. All of these areas are exclusively available to our B&B guests. Interaction with GuestsHosts live on property and live in main part of house. We are here to ensure your stay is everything you want it to be. We rent to only one group at a time, so you will have the grounds to yourself. We provide a light breakfast, and can make suggestions about the local activities, based on your interests. There is plenty to do in Oregon - hiking, biking, rafting, climbing, or just chilling. You can use Whispering Pines as your base camp for your visit, or you can choose to use it as your getaway place to rest and recharge. The NeighborhoodA beautiful and quiet area. Summer months can be lively on the river with rafters, and floaters. Winters are quieter, as river is cold. There are a few houses on the river, but most are hidden behind trees. Most people come here for its natural beauty, and rich environment. Perfect for rest, reflection and connection. We rent BnB wing to one booking at a time, to ensure complete privacy. Getting AroundWe are about 25 minutes east of Eugene. Roads are paved and smooth, however, due to our seclusion, no public transport is available. Car Rentals are available on airport property. Eugene airport is about 45 minutes away. Woodoo is 45 minutes, Sisters is 60 minutes, and Bend 120 minutes. Other Things to NoteOregon is known as God's country, because of its natural beauty. The creek, the river, and the surrounding areas are prime Oregon territory, and this home offers a lovely get-away for those longing for simpler lifestyles - even if it's only for a few days. There are local dining spots, we are close to Eugene for city life, and not too far from the higher elevations (Sisters (77 mi), Bend (100 mi), Hoodoo (50 mi)) where you will find snow.

The SpaceRich and magnificent with its lodge-quality craftsmanship, Whispering Pines Oregon has over 300 feet of river frontage, and 600+ feet of creek frontage. It sits on 2.75 acres of land bursting with rhodies, trees and ferns. Located just below Marten Rapids, it offers easy access to fishing, floating or just jumping in on a hot day. Built on a rock foundation, the river front is solid rock - which gives you one large, natural patio to play on. Summers on the McKenzie are a special treat for all ages. Are you from CA and miss your seasons? Consider nestling in here and watching leaves change in the fall, or come in winter and read by the roaring fire after walking in the cold cold temperatures. Summer recreation can begin as soon as Spring begins to burst through the ground once again. As you enter Whispering Pines, you will discover that it sits on a gated, private parcel, bordered on the West by glacier-fed Marten Creek, and to the North, the McKenzie River. Your days and nights will be on a property that is just shy of 3 acres, bursting with old Douglas Firs, leafy ferns, 20-year old rhododendrons and much more. It is tranquil and quiet – a perfect get-away place. The common area in your vacation home features two fireplaces (with custom, beautiful Yew mantles), lots of window seating, and plenty of outdoors to roam, explore, and reflect. This site is unusual because of its close proximity to the water. You won't find many sites like this one. The house is and will remain rustic, however, we have upgraded a few things for a better experience - new quartz kitchen counters, new family room recessed lighting, new 8-man hot tub, new paint, and new skylights. The main level is 2400 sq feet, and the upper wing is 700 sq ft. The main level has the Master (King) bedroom, and a second bedroom with a 2nd King bed, and it features the two common areas with dining area. The upstairs wing has two bedrooms (two Queens), and a sofa (bed) in the sitting area. The upstairs bathroom is shared between the two upstairs rooms, and has a separate (private) showering room, and the balcony offers views of the property. The upstairs wing is connected to the main floor via an enclosed breezeway – which gives the upstairs wing complete privacy. All beds have been upgraded to feature custom pine frames crafted by a local artist. There is plenty of outdoor seating along the banks of the river, on the back decks, and on property. (The decks, by the way, are of Ipe wood, which speaks to the quality of materials used on this property). Paths through forest lead you to Marten Creek. Large rocks that rise above the river allow you to fish in the river, or when water is warm, to jump in and float. Outside fires are allowed as code permits. See more on the gallery page to get a better idea of the treat you are in for when you are on property. We have a portable grill for you, that operates on propane (one tank provided), and makes outdoor grilling super easy. There is a Traeger onsite; if you know how to use it we can make it available to you. Can't miss your workout? We understand – and have a weight room with free weights, kettle bells, bench press, leg press, elliptical, stretch straps and stability ball. While many of you will come to escape city-life, we do offer the modern conveniences of Wifi and cable TV. Amenities in each bathroom include hairdryers, magnifying mirrors, shampoo, lotion, Q-tips cotton balls, and (of course) towels. HVAC throughout, 2-car garage, and washer and dryer, ironing board and iron (although most never have a use for this in your laid back, easy lifestyle here). The area is also rich with water falls, rivers, streams, hiking trails, fly-fishing, rafting, kayaking, biking, cycling and even rock climbing and tree climbing. Hunting season begins in fall, guests are responsible for their own compliance with local and state codes. Ike's Pizza, small restaurants and cafés are nearby, as well as a market. Be sure to check your hospitality news that will arrive in your in-box after your reservation as been confirmed. This will have more information for local activities. This home is serene, and is filled with functional art – a maple tree dining table, a teak root coffee table, and cute tree and bear tables. We know you will love the very relaxed setting here at Whispering Pines, however, be aware there are inherent risks being close to water (see below). Because of this risk, and because of the custom functional art, children under 12 need approval to stay – we want the opportunity to speak with you and make sure this property is a good fit for you. We know that your dogs are part of your family, and they are welcome as long as they are house-broken and trained, paws cleaned before entering common area, and kept off furniture. There is a $35 per dog, 2 max. The enclosed breezeway allows you to isolate them until you are ready to bring them into common area which makes it super easy on you. We are pride-of-ownership owners, and have been upgrading many of the features. As such, we invite similar, like-minded people to come stay at Whispering Pines on the McKenzie River (also known as Whispering Pines Oregon). You must be willing to love this home as we do while you are there - it is not a place to jump on beds, slam doors, and so forth. While accidents happen, and we understand the normal wear-and-tear, we do ask that you treat the house kindly and respectfully. Once you have booked with us, you will have access to online tutorials on how to use the hot tub, popcorn machine, entertainment system, and other household mechanics to ensure you have a rich and fulfilling time. Since we are right on the water, in an effort of complete transparency, we are making you aware of the following: NOTICE OF DANGEROUS CONDITIONS THERE ARE RISKS INHERENT IN THE USE OF THE WATERWAYS (MCKENZIE RIVER AND MARTEN CREEK) THAT BORDER THIS PROPERTY, AND THESE RISKS CAN LEAD TO SERIOUS PHYSICAL INJURIES, INCLUDING SERIOUS PHYSICAL INJURIES THAT COULD CAUSE DEATH; AND THERE IS AN INHERENT RISK OF DEATH BY DROWNING. ALL USERS OF THE WATERWAYS SHOULD EXERCISE CAUTION. Here is a little background for you on our river. The McKenzie River is a 90-mile tributary of the Willamette River - it drains part of the Cascade Range East of Eugene and flows westward into the southernmost end of the Willamette Valley. It originates as the outflow of Clear Lake, is named for Daniel MacKenzie, a Scottish Canadian fur trader. The fish include Chinook Salmon, Mountain Whitefish, and Bull and Rainbow Trout. Dippers, mergansers, bald eagles, ospreys and various ducks feed on the fish. The Northern Spotted Owl lives in the dense forest on the west side of upper McKenzie Basin in Linn County. Hiking and mountain biking are popular activities on trails in the McKenzie watershed. The river is popular for boating, especially fishing, kayaking, and whitewater rafting. Goodpasture Rd is a quiet street with homes on large parcels. Whispering Pines is protected from Hwy 126 noise by its unique location in relation to the highway. Not many homes along the river have our curb-appeal, our privacy, and our protection from highway noise. It is a jewel, and it is well-loved and well cared for. Treat yourself to its beauty. Guest AccessGuest will have access to the full house and property. You have plenty of room here to roam, and large waterfront areas to just sit and watch the river go by. If you are users of Blue Apron - surprise! Blue Apron delivers to the Whispering Pines area! There is a $30 fee if you plan to use the hot tub, which covers the cost of preping it before and after your visit. Interaction with GuestsWe interact on an as-needed basis, mostly by texting or email. You are free to call us, but we will only call you if you call us first, or something is urgent. The NeighborhoodNestled amid trees and ferns on the McKenzie River, this is the ideal vacation rental. A beautiful and quiet area, it's a the site for family fun and tranquil get-aways. Summer months can be lively on the river with rafters, and floaters. Winters are quieter, as river is cold and faster-moving. There are a houses along the river, and most are on large parcels. People come here to enjoy the natural beauty, and rich environment. While you have all the views here on property, Goodpasture Rd is a lovely road to walk along and enjoy, and if you walk upstream, about 1.5 miles up the road it becomes a graveled path that you can follow for miles on foot, on bike, or by car. There are picnic tables in the area, if you are adventurous and just want to walk the scenic road - my favorite spot is just a 2 mile walk upstream. All-in-all, here at Whispering Pines, it is perfect for rest, reflection and connection. Downstream, about a mile, is another park you can walk to, for scenic views of the river. Goodpasture Road is very quiet 5 mile stretch, dotted with homes on large parcels. We have neighbors, but properties are generally large and shielded by natural growth. In summer, when trees are fullest, most homes are barely visible. Across the river, we have 4-5 homes sitting above the river. In winter, when leaves have fallen and darkness comes much earlier, the twinkling lights from neighboring homes are visible. We all take comfort in our little slice of heaven here on Goodpasture. Getting AroundWe are about 25 minutes east of Eugene. Roads are paved and smooth, however, due to our seclusion, no public transport is available. Car Rentals are available on airport property. Eugene airport is about 45 minutes away. Hoodoo is 45 minutes, Sisters is 60 minutes, and Bend 120 minutes. Other Things to NoteOregon is known as God's country, because of its natural beauty. The creek, the river, and the surrounding areas are prime Oregon territory, and this home offers a lovely get-away for those longing for simpler lifestyles - even if it's only for a few days. The House Common Area has two fireplace, two window seating areas, a large TV with BluRay, dining area and kitchen. Wifi is available; cell coverage for Verizon customers, and for your convenience, a landline is available if you need to forward your cell to it. Ice cream maker is a Cuisinart - you can find recipes at their website, Popcorn for popcorn machine is provided - easy to use but does take a bit of elbow grease to clean. But the popcorn is good, and worth it! There is a fee for the use of the hot tub, $30 per stay to cover the cost of preping before and after your visit. We welcome your well-behaved pet; there is a fee of $35 per pet, 2 pet maximum. Doggie poop bags are at back deck railing, and breezeway door - please clean up after your pets. We have online tutorials for how to operate the hot tub, and the popcorn machine, as well as other routine but nice-to-know items.

The SpaceThe whole house can be rented for $360 per night and the listed price (of $75) is per person for individual rooms including breakfast (additional meals and pricing is available upon request). Price also may be adjusted dependent upon the type of experience you are interested in having as well as the number of people. Please feel free to inquire. There are three bedrooms with queen beds, and there are two couches and one single bed [room]. We also have a large amount of extra blankets and a few sleeping bags. The top of the house features a small room with windows on all 4 sides, a cozy 'crows nest' for nighttime retreats to stargaze and be with the moon. Camping is also an option in the yard and in the adjacent forest along the McKenzie river. Ask us. Our master bathroom features a large bathtub and shower, with a huge window overlooking a variety of exotic and native trees, a stunning display of green, and our thriving nursery. The kitchen is the crown jewel of the castle, well stocked with gadgets, cutlery and cooking wares. And the water! Oh the water quality is absolutely magnificent! So pure and refreshing it deserves only the finest champagne flute or colorful canning glass. In the summertime we often fire up the grill on the large front deck overlooking the garden. It is also a prime star and moon gazing space. Some people have even set up their sleeping arrangement there. We get the sunrise every morning, and have an impressive songbird population on the land (hummingbirds too!). Guest AccessAccess can range dependent upon what you are interested in. Would you like to get your hands dirty in the garden, gather fresh eggs from the chickens nesting boxes, or pick berries or fruit from a tree? Are you into curling up with a book under a blue sky and puffy clouds and listening to a chorus of songbirds? There are trails through the woods to access a refreshing swimming hole and fishing spot at the river with views of a magnificent osprey nest. As another option you may inquire about is access to array of games including basketball, tennis, badminton, bocce, croquet [golf! yes, there are holes in the ground through a forested green...], horseshoes, table tennis ping pong, darts, putting, and skittles. There are opportunities for one-on-one or group garden learning experiences. As well as educational skills sharing from a wide variety of subjects including but not limited to: knot tying, tree climb training, whole foods plant-based lifestyles and homesteading. And opportunities for guided fishing and rafting the calm and scenic Mckenzie river. Interaction with GuestsBoth of us keep active in the garden and in reward we eat largely from the land in which we live. We are honored to share that experience with our guests. And we feel it essential that our guests come open to a learning-nurturing atmosphere and culinary taste experience when they stay with us. The NeighborhoodWe are nestled at the base of the Cascade mountain range near the Willamette National Forest along the McKenzie river. Follow a beautiful forest path, sprinkled with wildflowers through the cedar grove. To find your way to a large eddy perfect for fly fishing and a river rock beach to chill on in the evening sun. Bring binoculars (we have a few pairs you may utilize) and peek into the world of the magnificent Osprey, as they circle above, dive for prey and return to their large nest in the majestic snag in the distance. Getting AroundThere is a public bus that goes back and forth from upriver to Eugene twice a day, once in the early morning and once in the evening. The farthest up it goes is the ranger station, and the closest pick up/drop off point is in the town of Vida, about two miles away. The bus can accommodate bicycles. It is also possible (but not recommended) to bike to Eugene. The trek takes about 2 1/2 hours. Recreational opportunities include world class bicycling, hiking, boating, camping, etc... The McKenzie Pass bikeway (historic Hwy. 242 to Sisters) is a mild distance away and is without a doubt the most spectacular ride in Central Oregon. This smooth road showcases forests on both the east and west sides of the Cascades (they’re different) as well as a lava-rock moonscape at the top that’s unlike anything you’ll probably ever see on a bike ride or drive again. Most of Oregon Route 242 is closed during winter months, but bicycles are encouraged in the spring before it’s reopened to cars – providing miles of traffic-free road riding through magnificent forest. And then there is the The Mckenzie River Trail. It is rated the #1 trail in the nation by a national cycling magazine. It’s 26 miles of beauty and challenge, offering sections that are appropriate for everyone from the weekend cruiser to the thrill junkie. The McKenzie River Trail is one that is near and dear to my heart offering many recreational opportunities. I like to think of the trail as 3 different sections. The upper portion begins at Clear Lake. You can hike around the lake which is very beautiful (or rent row boats by the hour). The trail continues on from the southwest corner of the lake and before you know it you’re at Sahalie Falls and then Koosah Falls. These two waterfalls will impress you and the trail around here is very lush and picturesque. If you continue hiking down the trail you will notice that after a while the river disappears (it goes underground for a few miles). You can continue through this section, or after Koosah Falls loop back up the trail to your car at Clear Lake and shuttle to the next trailhead which would be at Trailbridge Reservoir. Take a right at the stop sign after you cross the river and head up the road to a parking area. Follow the trail on the right and in about 1.5 miles you’ll reach Tamolitch Falls aka Blue Pool. This is an out-and-back trail. If you still have time after these two hikes I would continue west on Highway 126 and stop at Belknap Hot Springs Resort. Here you can either give in to temptation and pay the $7 for an hour of relaxation in the swimming pool fed by natural hot springs, tour the beautiful property or hike a few miles down the trail (westward). The Mckenzie River Trail sections in summary: Upper McKenzie: Clear Lake to Koosah Falls (beautiful, scenic, waterfalls) Parking available at Clear Lake Resort, Sahalie Falls and Koosah Falls You can hike around the lake which is very beautiful (or rent row boats by the hour). The trail to the falls is lush and picturesque and the waterfalls themselves are sure to impress. Middle McKenzie: Trailbridge to Tamolitch (fire and ice, forest and lava, and beautiful Blue Pool) Parking available at Trailbridge Reservoir Lower McKenzie: Belknap Hot Springs to McKenzie Bridge (hot springs, and lush forest) Parking available at Belknap Hot Springs Resort, Deer Creek Rd, or the McKenzie River Ranger Station At Belknap Hot Springs Resort you can pay the $7 for an hour of relaxation in the swimming pool fed by natural hot springs, tour the beautiful property or hike a few miles down the trail (westward) for free. There are also some nearby hot springs worth checking out (Cougar, Belknap, Terwilliger, and Bigelow (Deer Creek)). Cascadia Forest Defenders and EcoAdvocates/Hikers for Habitat occasionally takes groups to tour timber sales in the area. Inquire with Anna for guided educational and activist opportunities through the forest. Other Things to NoteThere are a number of people who live and work on the land and the adjoining estate (with games and river access). We are active in projects and improving the landscape. The people are nice, please feel free to converse or join in the activity. A chill Cascadian blue heeler is our one-and-only baby boy. He's a farm guard dog, and he warms up to people and other dogs rather quickly. Pets may be okay if your pet is good with other pets (dogs, cats, and an occasional chicken). Please note details about your pet accomplice in your inquiry.

From the moment you enter through the soaring Douglas fir trees in the front yard, you realize the feeling of “Tranquility.” You are far away from the highway, and the only sounds you will hear are the captivating flow of the McKenzie River, the call of nearby birds, and the rustle of breeze through the forest. The most memorable feature of the house will be sitting on the covered-deck...watching the mesmerizing McKenzie River flow by…so peaceful and tranquil. The living room is a wide expanse of glass windows overlooking the beautiful river and the forested riverbank. From your couch, or chairs, you can enjoy the fireplace, or watch and hear osprey, ducks, kingfishers, and songbirds. Look downward towards the fishermen floating by who are fishing for steelhead, salmon and trout. If nature’s beauty is not enough, there is an HDTV, a PS3, and high-speed internet for your further relaxation and enjoyment. The kitchen is fully equipped and is situated to encourage lively conversation with family or friends, or gaze out at the forest through the front windows, or the river through the living room windows. The spacious main bedroom has a king-size bed. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed. And, the third bedroom has 2 twin-size beds. Each bedroom has a beautiful view of the river, and plenty of comfort and closet space. Local, skilled fishing guides can make your ‘fishing stories’ true! An Oregon State Salmon hatchery is a short walk across the street. One of Oregon’s most iconic covered bridges is just up the road. Drive across the nearby Leaburg dam to see the huge sturgeon at the Leaburg Fish Hatchery. In late summer, pick blackberries in the backyard for your breakfast, or to top your ice cream after dinner. Or, ride a bike down a quiet country lane to the pick-your-own blueberry patch, a beautiful 10-minute bicycle ride away. The University of Oregon in Eugene is a 30-minute drive to the West. In addition to the shopping malls, there is a fantastic, leisurely bike trail for the whole family near the University along both banks of the Willamette River. Tokatee Golf Club is a 30-minute drive upriver to the East, and the 9-hole McKenzie River Golf Course is 5 minutes away. Hoodoo Ski area is about 60 miles upriver to the East on Highway 126. Rich and magnificent with its lodge-quality craftsmanship, Whispering Pines Oregon has over 300 feet of river frontage, and 600+ feet of creek frontage.
