The SpaceAll the conveniences of home only a few blocks from "sea glass beach", Historical Fort, Super restaurants with a private back yard. The first floor apartment has a living room, kitchen, two bedrooms, bathroom and a laundry. Plenty of space in a private yard and a front porch to sit and watch the wild horses walk down the street. Guest AccessOur property manager Guiso (pronounced Gweezo) will meet you at the ferry or airport to show you to the house and hand you the keys. Please arrange to meet with him before your departure. Be sure to lock the gate each time you come and go and be respectful of our upstairs neighbors. Cell service inside the house is spotty but Internet access strong. Other public WiFi access a block away on the beautiful old town plaza of Isabela Segunda. Interaction with GuestsBecause we are back and forth from the island, we'll have little contact with you but always just a phone call, text or email away. Our caretakers Guiso and Marisol are only available upon emergency after your arrival greeting and before your departure. The NeighborhoodOld town third-world feel with great restaurants and markets just around the corner. Large mango trees dropping fruit on the beach at the end of the street. A short walk from the ferry and Mar Azul cocktail sunsets. Getting AroundAfter walking from the ferry or taking a cab or "publico" (your favorite van drivers always at your beckon call) you can chose to rent a car or for $5pp get anywhere on the island with....a publico! If you extend your stay and cozy up to one of the hundreds of wild horses on the island, maybe you'll be riding bareback before you know it!. Check out "Horse Taxi". Other Things to NoteWe have a five night minimum stay with $110 per night for the first couple during the holiday season. A charge of $35 per person per night is charged for any extra people staying. The five night minimum drops to a three-night minimum for other times. We do make acceptions depending on the time of year and offer longer-stay discounts. We'll leave you to stocking the kitchen from a great little supermercado just a few blocks from the house.

Holiday special-Nov 30, Dec 2-4, 6-7, 10-12; 18-19, 26-$45 a night! Perfect for Biobay or lone travelers and cozy couples. Hot shower, Full size platform bed and only a 6 minute walk to the Malecon, beach, shops and restaurants.  Lounge in living area (AC available), internet, linens, bath towels, (bring your own large beach towel) Season, Nov 1-May 1, continental breakfast, i.e. tropical fruits, juices and breads daily 7-9a. Refrigerator access only to store fresh food or leftovers and carport parking. Quiet, green-abundant fruit trees (use no harsh chemical shampoos, conditioners, etc. please) and surprise harvests or special treats, low price. Wood deck to the south offers cool breezes and is perfect for lounging. Tiled north balcony has hammock, glider, rocker and chairs; cool breezes and sunset glimpses from the large open courtyard area. Mature Manila coconut tree is harvested 4-6 times a year for sweet water and soft meat. Large canario flowers adorn the concrete wall. Carport entrance leads to the main entrance where outdoor shower with tepid water is located. The main living area has comfortable couches, a LCD TV -cable during season Nov 1-May 1; shared bathroom, dining area. Raw foods can be prepared, e.g. salads, sandwiches, pre-cooked foods and leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator.

We are 5 minutes walking from Ferry and you have Beach, Shops, Restaurants, Supermarkets Walking distance. It is really recommended to have a Car in Vieques since some beaches can only be got by Car. Perched on a hillside in the quiet, safe, local neighborhood of Santa Maria this newly remodeled two bedroom has added a new spacious covered patio with a view of the ocean over a safe carport to safely leave your vehicle. Casa de Caribe is stocked with all the amenities needed to enjoy your vacation to paradise including beach chairs, cooler, beach towels, hammock, and even sand toys for the kids. Decorated with a Caribbean flair, you will know you are in the islands as soon as you enter the front door or sit on the front porch enjoying the view. The one bedroom has a queen size bed with air-conditioning and the other has a full bed with fan. There is also a futon in the living room that can pull out into a full bed. The kitchen is fully equipped with all you need, in case you wish to cook or grill at the house. The outside patio off the kitchen and is covered so you can enjoy it either during the day or night and offers a dining set to eat your meals or just sit and enjoy the beautiful view and island sounds. It has magnificent Atlantic ocean views including the islands of Culebra and mainland Puerto Rico, with constant trade winds almost always in the 80's year round. Stunning sunrise and sunsets can be viewed while relaxing on the patio from your hammock. Easy walk to several cozy beaches. The best surfing on the island is across the street from the house as well as great snorkeling. The downstairs Guesthouse has 2 bedrooms, a living area with flat screen tv, DVR full kitchenette,and patio. Two 6 ft tall concrete beams. (think Paris) Fully furnished and equipped including beach chairs, towels, coolers, etc. Satellite TV is included as well as high speed wireless internet. There is also an outside shower which is ideal when returning from the beach. A/C in both bedrooms. A remote control electronic entry gate makes entry and exit a breeze. Seperate private entrance from either street pedestrian gate or driveway. The house located in the safest and most sought after neighborhood on the island, is a 5 minute walk to the islands main town. Isabel Segunda has shops, groceries, bank, restaurants, bakeries, the ferry et al. Only about 15 minute ride from the airport, Esperanza, the Bioluminescent Bay and the many Caribbean beaches. Over all, Vieques has over 50 beaches (Atlantic and Caribbean). Some of what we offer/provide for our valued guests: 1) complimentary pick up and return at airport/ferry upon arrival and departure (note: groups over 4 will need to expect 2 trips as we have a jeep....or you can catch a taxi for about $5pp from the airport and Rene' will meet you at the house...He can arrange a taxi for you.     The SpacePlease read the entire listing before booking. Thanks! I have hidden a codeword in the listing. If you respond with my code word I will know you have read the entire description. I know its annoying, but I've had too many problems with people not reading all the information, which leads to problems when they arrive. This villa is gorgeous, the large rooftop patio offers great views of the Caribbean ocean. 2 master suites, as well as a sleeping nook can accommodate 6 people comfortably. The dining room opens up onto another patio over looking the Caribbean ocean. The kitchen is large and open, surrounded by windows so that you can always catch a glimpse of the sparkling sea. The house is in the city, so throughout the day you can hear local music from the ferry. Expect normal city noise. It is still a very peaceful and calm property. Please note that the bedrooms do not have doors. This is a attempt to keep air flowing through the house and temperatures cooler. We have sewn curtains for privacy. There are a variety of excellent restaurants within walking distance, as well as grocery stores and other fun shopping. A rental car is necessary to reach all the best beaches in Vieques. The majority of the best beaches are in the Vieques National Wildlife refuge, which has terrible roads and requires a Jeep to access. There is no public transportation and Taxi's will not drive to these beaches. It is generally accepted that a car is necessary to enjoy everything Vieques has to offer. We provide a SUV Semi -Beater for a additional $65/night for the exclusive use of our Villa Indigo Guests. The SUV is not in pristine condition, it's a island car, so expect dents, scratches and other cosmetic imperfections. It does run perfectly and is more than adequate for the roads and beaches of Vieques. Currently we have 3 cars, a 2005 Subaru Outback, a 2004 Honda CRV or a 96 Isuzu Rodeo stick shift with badass 4WD. Please let me know which you prefer Newer cars on this island often have their check engine lights on. The car is always mechanically perfect, but the corrosive salty air combined with dust from the Sahara often clogs up filters and throws off the light. I will take the car to the mechanic, have him clear it, and it comes back on 2 days later. If you are staying in Vieques longer than your stay at Villa Indigo we are able to let you keep the SUV. You will have to put down a $250 security deposit on the car when you leave Villa Indigo. The SUV will be ready and waiting for you at the house when you check in. Payment for the rental car can be made via PayPal with your credit card. Please note that cars rented on the main island are not permitted on the Ferry. IMPORTANT!: The car rents on a nightly basis, just like the house. We ask that if you take advantage of our cars, you rent for your entire stay. That way, the car is ready and waiting for you when you check in, and you have it until you check out. It's more convenient than having to stop at the rental car office, (Codeword: Sofrito!) and it will be waiting for you at the house when you arrive. Gas: It is VERY important that you return the car with the same amount of gas recieved. Every guest seems to think it's ok to just leave us cash and let us fill it for them. This is not OK and inconsiderate for both us and the next guest who arrives. The fee for not returning the car with the same amount of gas you received it with is $30 + the cost of gas, billed at $15 per 1/4 tank or less. Check in for house and car is 3pm Check Out for house and car is 11am. This is flexible, depending on when the guests before you leave, and the guests after you arrive, and we do our best to accommodate everyone. When planning your trip please don't expect the house to be ready until 3 PM, and expect to return the car and house keys by 11AM. I do want to take this time to warn you about the ferry. It is a absolute mess and incredibly un-reliable. It never runs on time, you have to wait hours for a ticket, and they often cancel ferry runs without any warning. Just yesterday I had a family with 2 small children wait 6 hours of their precious vacation time to get on a ferry. I strongly suggest you look into flying. There are 3 airports, Ceiba is right across the channel on the main island. Flights to Vieques are $35 each way. Isla Grande is the domestic airport in San Juan and flights are $75 each way. San Juan International is the big main airport, flights from here run between $90 and $120. since you are likely flying into this airport, flights from here are most convenient. The other 2 airports only make sense if you are visiting other parts of Puerto Rico before coming to Vieques. The 3 airlines that run these routes are Cape Air, Vieques Air Link and Air Flamenco. All of them have online booking. We can arrange rides from the airport or Ferry to the house for a additional $20. My house keeper will pick you up and deliver you to the property, getting you established in the house and car. If you can find your own way to the property the house keeper will meet you there. Please provide me with your arrival and departure times a week in advance. A note on Utilities: Vieques is a remote tropical island. Obviously we have running water, electricity and Internet, but it isnt very reliable. Occasionally we will loose 1, 2 sometimes all 3 at the same time. It never lasts longer than a couple hours, but please be prepared for the possibility that you will loose utilities for short periods of time. Usually right when you get home from the beach and you are covered in sand. A Note on WiFi: Our only Internet service provider is notoriously unreliable and the lines for the whole island often go down for no reason. If I have a problem with a line at the property then It will take me weeks to get a technician to the property. Therefore, despite paying $80 a month for a internet line, I unfortunately cannot guarantee internet service. Rest assured, I do everything in my power to get internet up and running like it's supposed to, but sometimes its completely out of my control and there is nothing more I can do. A Note on Bugs. Welcome to the tropics! We have bugs here. Big Ones. Every property on this island, even the W, will have bugs. I'm sorry if you aren't used to them, but it's part of island living and short of A-bombing the property with toxic pesticides, there is nothing that can be done. A/C: We do not have Air Conditioning in this house. Electricity in Puerto Rico is very expensive ($280 a month on this property!) , Any house that offers A/C will have a higher nightly rate. This house is fully screened, but the windows are open, A/C is not possible. We want to offer our guests budget accommodation, so in a attempt to keep costs down, we do not offer A/C. We do have ceiling fans and box fans for you to use. A note on Beach Umbrella's : We no longer offer beach umbrellas. Vieques can be windy, and our guests have repeatedly been breaking the beach umbrellas we keep buying for the house. We've gone through at least 15 in the last 6 months. If you need a beach umbrella they are sold at the Black Beards, the grocery store and many other shops for around $30. I also highly recommend Palm Trees for shade :) Cancellation policy: We maintain a strict cancellation policy. This once again has to do with our budget pricing, if you cancel at the last minute, then it is un-likely the house will re-book. We as hosts will lose the income, and we won't be able to offer this rate for all of our guests. I'm terribly sorry, but I absolutely cannot offer any refunds on any last minute cancellations. Please understand this policy when you book. When booking, you agree to this cancellation policy and I cannot make any exceptions. Problems: If you have any problems with anything, I will do my best to fix it as soon as humanly possible. Vieques runs a little slower than the rest of the world. Nothing is going to happen on a Sunday. If you email me at 11PM saying you're having a problem with the toilet, I won't be able to fix it until the morning. Other Things to NoteWhen it comes to the official weather report, don’t pay any attention to it. We live in the tropics, its technically hurricane season. The weather report always say 80% chance of rain because theres a 80% chance we’ll get a passing shower and thunderstorm. It never means its going to rain all day. its the nature of weather reports in the tropics during hurricane season. right now it is sunny, breezy and beautiful. With heavy rain, the roof will leak. But that's how it goes with concrete island buildings. Throw a towel down and enjoy your stay! I have found the most accurate weather reports to be those posted by local sailboat captains. Try to join Vieques weather on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). Captain Judy is a accomplished sailboat captain and has a great grasp of whats happening with weather on a day to day basis.

      No need to rent a car if staying in this quaint studio apartment. The ferry terminal is just two blocks west. Taxi's and publico's line up there to transport guests around our island. Continue west one more block for a nice assortment of restaurants, provisions, and gift shops.

Taxi's provide transportation to beautiful beaches from $3.00 per person. From San Juan International airport take a taxi to Fajardo ($80) then take the ferry to Vieques ($2.00 per person) I will meet you at the ferry. Mon Repos is just two blocks away. The NeighborhoodMy quite neighborhood is rule. Outside the hustle and bustle of the town of Isabel II. We are a quick 3 minutes from there. Isabel is the main town on the island that you will find the bank, groceries, quaint shops and restaurants. My neighbor Ben, is very friendly and helpful. He lives in the white house close to me. He has a water trough for the wild horses, so you will see them gathering all around the yard. Getting AroundMy property manager will pick you up from either the ferry or the airport and take you to the house or the rental car agency. It is recommended that you rent a car. You can get to one end of the island to the other in 15 minutes. You don't want to miss the adventure of finding secluded beaches. Most of the time you will be one of maybe 3 families at any given beach. Ask the locals for help in locating these and they will be thrilled to give your their favorites! There are beautiful views, a nice breeze, and the Villa sits on a 3/4 acre very private lot which is fenced and gated.
