The SpaceWelcome to Casa Blanca. This carefully maintained and completely renovated two bedroom, one bath (plus private outdoor shower) home is in an authentic Vieques neighborhood (it includes both renovated and old houses) within walking distance to one of the most beautiful private beaches on the island (see the pictures). This neighborhood is also in walking distance to the farmers market, and local bars/clubs. It is also very close driving distance to Isabella Segundo, Esperanza, and all of the island’s beaches. No expense was spared in the interior or exterior of this house. It includes a covered patio, rooftop deck, swimming pool with waterfall, custom concrete wall around the entire facility, custom gates, outdoor heated shower, and private, secure driveway for parking. The inside includes brand-new stainless steel appliances (refrigerator with ice/filtered water, dishwasher, oven, stove, microwave), granite counter-tops, tiled floors, frontload washer/dryer, air conditioning, internet, SmartTV, USB plugs, bedroom fans, towels, beach supplies, all housewares/kitchen appliances you need on your stay.
Close to the beach, walking distance to restaurants, and farmers market.
It is close to one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. The neighborhood is filled with small funky beach houses.
The house is close to the beach, a few restaurants, and the farmers market. It is very close to the airport and Ferry (but will require a Taxi or rental vehicle to get to the house).
The whole gated property will be yours. You will have a private pool, rooftop deck, Internet, beautiful kitchen, and all the large and small appliances.
We have a local caretaker that will ensure you can get to the property and answers any questions you may have.
The neighborhood is a cute little village that was created after Hurricane Hugo - some of the houses have not changed much since the hurricane. It has great access to a private beach and the locals are friendly. The sidewalks, some of the surrounding houses, and trail to the beach are not maintained well - but this is pretty normal for Vieques. We also have wild chickens, horses, dogs and occasional loud music (during fests and on weekends) - this is normal across the island but surprising to people that have not been on a island before. The families gather on the weekends and sometimes on the weeknights (playing games, children, ect) on the streets and many times street vendors will open on the weekends (we have a small cabin that sells pizzas).
You can walk to the beach, bars, clubs (Friday / Saturday), the farmers (open only certain days) market, and we have gated parking for up to two cars. Guest AccessPrivate Pool, Outdoor heated shower, Internet, private rooftop deck, beach access Interaction with GuestsPlease call or email me if you need anything. I also have local caretakers should you need anything while you stay. If for any reason - you need any help or something in the house is not what you like or expect - reach out to me. The NeighborhoodThe local beach, farmers market, bar/clubs, and BBQ. It is a small fishing village with many local families and other rentals. Once again very nice houses next to houses that need lots of work is normal on the entire island. You can walk to the local clubs/bars - but their hours are intermittent (like most businesses on the island). Everything is open late Friday and Saturday - and almost everything is closed on Sunday. Getting AroundYou may take a taxi/publico - I suggest renting a Jeep or SUV (the roads are 3rd world in Vieques) and some of the best beaches require you drive on some pretty rough roads. Other Things to NoteIf you have not stayed in Vieques before some things to note: The island is full of wild chickens, roosters, loud toads, dogs, wild horses, and the occasional vehicle/house with big speakers (especially during fests) - so at times it is not the most quite place on earth - I suggest you bring ear plugs until you get use to the noises. This is true with the entire island but I like to warn newcomers to the island so it is not a huge surprise. The entire island has neighborhoods with grand houses next to shacks - you are staying in one of the nice ones but their are less maintained ones in the neighborhood.
