The SpaceWelcome to our Christian family home on the north eastern fringe of Adelaide. We are a family of five - one male and four females, two of the three girls are young adults and the other is not yet a teen. We speak two languages English and German. There is also the dog - a German Shepperd but he lives outside. We are located approximately 45 minutes away from the airport by cab. The downstairs bedroom is with its own bathroom and toilet. It has a door leading to a timber deck that invites to relax and enjoy the city views from the bushland setting. There is also the adjacent second family room with TV and stocked bookshelf available for your use. Broadband internet is also available. Our place is within a few minutes walk down the hill to a bus stop that takes you to a major bus hub and shopping center in only a few minutes. From the bus stop at the bottom of the hill you can also venture on a bush walk starting right next to it. Kangaroos and Koalas are a common sight and all kinds of native bird life.We will be happy to show you if time allows. We have been treated so kindly on our travels around the globe and like to do the same to people who come to our country. However there is a strict no drugs and limited alcohol policy enforced at all times.

The SpaceWe are the last of the suburbs before you enter the Adelaide hills and yet we are still close to the city (Adelaide city is 17 km away, a 30 minute drive or a bus ride of 40 minutes). The unit consists of: * Bedroom with queen sized bed, TV, linen and towels, reverse cycle airconditioning. * Kitchenette with: Hotplates (portable type), fridge, Convection/microwave oven, toaster, kettle, coffee appliances, pots/pans, utensils, crockery, coffee/tea. A small dining table and chairs. * Ensuite sized bathroom with sink, toilet, shower, soap, shampoo and conditioner, hairdryer. The unit is attached to the main house with its own front and rear entrances, all with security screens and locks. The bedroom has a large glass sliding door for garden views and cooling afternoon valley breezes, and air conditioning for those hot days. We will supply white bread and full cream milk for you to use, but if you have a preference please let us know, we are happy to provide other types of bread and milk. You will have access to your own rear patio and the front garden, there is also a small front patio area that is screened off from the rest of the garden. A 320 hectare nature park is right next door with ruins to explore and many hiking and riding trails ranging from easy to tough. Guest AccessGuests will have access to the entire unit with its own entrance. The unit is made up only for two adults, but one child could be accommodated. However we only have a small single bed mattress for them that would be made up on the bedroom floor. There would be no extra charge for this. Interaction with GuestsWe work during the week, but are happy to interact with guests when available. If you like privacy to just enjoy some relaxing time alone, this is no problem either. If you need any local advice just ask. If you would like us to show you the local trails, we often walk and ride them and would be happy for you to join us and can help out with hire bikes, etc . We can always be contacted with any questions or concerns. The NeighborhoodWe are the last of the suburbs before you hit the Adelaide hills and yet we are still close to the city (Adelaide city is a 30 minute drive, 1 hour bicycle ride, or a bus ride of 35 minutes). The Tea Tree Plaza shopping center is within a 15 minute bus ride. Mostly though, you want to be here for the trees and nature. This is a very green suburb with lots of natural parklands very close by. We regulary see Kangaroos, Koalas, many bird species and lots of other fauna and flora. You can chill out on the balcony and enjoy the cooling valley breezes and bird song from many local varieties (the Kookaburras love to call to us from the trees). Or you could go for a walk through the park, the old nursery ruins are a pleasant 20 minute walk away on a well maintained trail. If you feel like a challenge there are some quite difficult trails to be found also. Getting AroundBus stops are located less than 1 minute walk away. Buses that frequent these stops go directly to the local main shopping district (which has a bus terminal) and also directly into Adelaide city. The closest shops are a laundromat, cafe, chicken and pizza shop located about 10 minutes walk away. We also have restaurants, other facilities and larger shops within a half hour walk or 5 minute drive. There are walking and bike paths close by that run from the hills to the beach and through the city. Other Things to Note*We are happy to discuss different check in and check out times, please just let us know if you would like to change this* Please note that the house is still in a suburb in Adelaide and on a minor bus route. So there will be some traffic noise during the day, however at night and mornings the road noise is minimal and the nature sounds are evident, you may hear a variety of bird and animal noises (The Koalas are very vocal in Summer). We have a very timid cat that you will probably never see. She is very gentle and loving, but extremely shy. We are happy for guests to enjoy our gardens. We will provide tea, coffee, bread, milk and sugar, and basic disposable items (toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, soap, dishwashing liquid, clothes detergent). We can also arrange for shopping items to be available upon request, please mention this when booking and we can discuss arrangements. Linen, towels and blankets are provided.

The SpaceA quiet property on almost 40 acres, we are across the road from Mt Crawford Native Forest and are just below the crest of the hill, allowing for lovely long views. The house is one of 2 under the same roof and is completely self contained. This is a great place to relax, wind down and enjoy the company of those with you, or your own company, if you need a great place to destress. We have chooks, a sheep and cats and a veggie garden too. We are on a dirt road and on a hill, so it's not too busy. About 30 mins to the Barossa and fantastic wines, dining and scenery, we have some good local options too. Guest AccessYou will have use of the whole house and can access the dams by sticking to trails. The property is very steep in places and is only suitable for walking. A fairly gently walk to the knob is definitely worth the view :) You are welcome to feed the chooks your scraps - just call them with 'chook chook chook" and they will come running. Help yourself to anything growing in the veggie patch. Interaction with GuestsWe live on site and will be available to meet you on check in and check out, otherwise you can be as private as you wish to be. We are very happy to help you with suggestions or arrangements if you are new to the area. If you want to enjoy the beautiful views at sunset with a glass of wine and food but don't feel like cooking, we can put you in touch with a passionate home cook. The NeighborhoodInglewood is a lovely little area in the North Eastern Adelaide Hills, not far from the Tour Down Under routes in 2017! You can drive a lovely scenic route to Handorf, or head in the other direction and visit the beautiful Barossa. Or you can stay closer to home and enjoy great meals at the Inglewood Inn, Glen Ewin for lunch on the weekends, or a great meal at The Gully hotel - ask for a booth in the Garden Bar. Horse riding, helicopters, hot air balloons, wining and dining - so many things to do. And best of all, its a lovely place to do nothing but listen to the sounds of nature, looking at a great view and breathing in clean, country air. Getting AroundYou will really need to have your own transport to access the property. Public transport is available 15 minutes away in Golden Grove, where you can park and catch a bus or the O-Bahn into the CBD. Other Things to NoteWe are on rainwater only, so please use water wisely.
