    The SpaceOur unit is set back and separate from the house. It has a bathroom with shower, fridge, microwave, toaster and tea and coffee making facilities. You can sit on the front deck, looking out over our potager garden through to the Richmond Ranges below. It is equipped with food for breakfast; including a choice of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, bread and a selection of jams & spreads, which will be refreshed on longer stays. We do cater for gluten free but need to know beforehand. Guest AccessWe encourage guests to access all areas of our property. This includes our media room and small library which are available between 4 pm and 10 pm. We also offer the use of our washing mashing for no extra fee. Interaction with GuestsWe are very approachable and welcome any queries our guests may have. We are available any times apart from 7.30 am to 4.00 Monday to Friday and within these times can be contact by cellphone. The NeighborhoodThe Wairau Valley township provides a unique insight in how New Zealand used to be. We have one of very few functioning pubs that date back to the 1800's and a visit is a must. The food here is second to none; including some of the nicest Thai food anywhere. A 20 minute walk will take you to the infamous Wairau River - an iconic South Island braided river.       The SpaceBoundary Creek Cabin is a 10km/45 min 4x4 drive from the homestead. If you don’t have a 4x4 wheel drive we can offer transfers ( $100 one way.) Find a taste of kiwi culture with added comfort in Boundary Creek Cabin, tucked 10kms up the Spray Valley and surrounded by native birds, rare plants, and a waterfall creek. Warm and inviting, the fully insulated and doubleglazed cabin has beech flooring, macrocarpa walls and a red cedar roof. Boundary Creek is a perfect retreat where guests can be close to nature, watching for game from the veranda in the evenings. Boundary Creek Cabin can sleep up to six in large timber bunks with comfortable mattresses. On warm days, sit outside at a picnic table with outdoor gas BBQ cooking. Inside, a sofa and a log burner fireplace make it a perfect retreat year round. The cabin is equipped with a kitchenette with modern gas burners for cooking, an ice box, and filtered water. Solar electric light is provided. Wooden steps lead down to the gas heated outdoor shower beside rock pools and moss-clad rocks. Relaxing is mandatory and made easy with separate sleeping and living spaces. The spacious bedroom offers a queen bed and four natural timber bunks. In the living area unwind in front of an open fire, or sit and enjoy the views of the mountains from the rear veranda. The front deck provides a perfect spot for breakfast in the morning sun. BBQ gas cooking is on the rear veranda. The separate indoor bathroom is a luxury, and a short path from the deck leads to the heated outdoor shower on a ledge overlooking the river and our wonderful gas-fired hot baths, which are best enjoyed under the stars. There are over 20km of tracks through a variety of vegetation unique to Marlborough high country, from open tussock to matagouri and mature bush. Keen walkers can also take the track from the Cottage @ Off the Mapp to Boundary Creek Cabin @ Off the Mapp. Those looking for a challenge can take a guided trek to the top of Mt Stronvar (summit 1350m). There are lots of opportunities for bird watching throughout the Station. Keen birdwatchers and photographers will see swallows, kingfishers and terns by the river. Listen to the bellbirds; watch for paradise ducks, Californian quail and many other breeds. The Waihopai is also a natural habitat for the rare New Zealand falcon. In the rock bluffs of the Cannister Valley visitors can often see a nesting pair.
