The SpaceThis small studio is a monolithic dome and constructed like a swimming pool.. but upside down in a dome shape! The most common thing heard when entering it is .. wow it's so much bigger on the inside! Guest AccessGuests will have access to our shared / private driveway and their own covered two-car parking. You're free to roam the 17 acres and even fish in our stocked 3 acre pond! (catch & release) Interaction with GuestsWe work from home, and will probably be around if you need most anything! The NeighborhoodWe live in the country and only have a couple neighbors within a mile of us. Our country road has infrequent traffic throughout the day, and a train goes by a few times a day, but the setting is country and *very* quiet! Getting AroundNo public transportation or anything within walking distance. The town of Carbondale is 3 miles away with convenience and grocery store is closest or 10 minutes from most of Topeka. 15 minutes to Westridge Mall on Wanamaker and the hospitals. Downtown Topeka is 20-25 minutes up Topeka Blvd. Other Things to NoteThe dome has a window storm shutter, that helps during severe weather.. as well as night time security and blocking sunlight on bright days!

The SpaceThis home is two story with open staircase leading to two bedrooms and bath on the upper level. The master bedroom and bath are on the main level has a new upgrade queen mattress and feather pillows. Bedroom 2 is also queen with upgrade mattress. It is decorated in fun bling colors. Bedroom 3 has a futon as a bed option with a comfortable double size mattress. It is decorated in an American style. All are roomy and comfortable. The living area is an open floor plan with large living room, dining room that seats six and kitchen bar seating for three. Kitchen is fully equipped and stocked with staples for your convenience. A large screened back porch provides a inviting place for morning coffee or relaxing with evening beverage. Wild turkeys frequently cross the back yard. The area is teaming with wildlife and is exceptional for bird watching. The State Park entrance is 2 miles from the home and offers many hiking trails, picnic areas, swimming beaches, paved streets for bicycling, great fishing and more. We enjoy kayaking on the beautiful, quiet lake. My husband loves to fish the many areas and we are often out at sunrise. I take my camera and capture the unbelievable beauty of the early morning. Sunsets are equally impressive. This is our home for about a third of the year and is furnished with personal belongings that are important to us. We open our home to those that will respect and care for it as we do. Guest AccessThose staying have access to entire home, attached garage and very generous yard. Interaction with GuestsEven though we are not on or near the property for the most part. We are available to speak with you via phone. We will have someone near the home to assist you in anyway if need be. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is a relaxed atmosphere. Most residence are full time, year round home owners. Some have home as week end or vacation homes. Getting AroundBesides the lake and park, there is a public golf course with in a few miles The Lamont Hills restaurant offers inexpensive home style meals, homemade pie and hand dipped ice cream. The small town of Vassar has a great gift shop and is only 2 miles away. Within six miles is Green Acres Restaurant and area which has a fuel station, pizza place and full menu in the restaurant specailizing in boasted chicken and homemade pie. Other Things to NoteThis home is four miles east of Hwy 75, about 12 miles north of I-35, and about 35 miles soutlh of Topeka. It is about one hour and 45 minutes from MCI airport in Kansas City. The home is in a lake community that is a mile and half off of the paved road so travel on gravel is required for that distance.

The SpaceThe Cabin has a spacious studio apartment with a queen bed that is adjacent to 2 additional bedrooms, that will lock out or combine with the studio. (Making a total of 7 beds: additional charges on total of beds used ). There are private bathrooms for the studio space and the 2 bedrooms with bunk beds. The kitchen has appliances including a dishwasher. The dining room looks out to a ranchland view with seating at the table for 4 guests. Guest AccessThe studio apt, with its own door entry from the front porch, has direct access to the kitchen and a private shower bathroom. The 2 additional bedrooms have 6 single bunk beds. That area has a seperate entry from the front porch. A full bathroom with a tub/shower as well as it's own coffee service). The bunk area has its own entry door as well and can function as a space independently from the studio apartment. The front porch of the cabin is lit with solar LEDs for nighttime use of either entry to the two guests areas. There are 4 steps up to the porch with sturdy railings for safe access. Interaction with GuestsWe generally meet and get guests settled in their space. Then the guests are on their own to enjoy the quiet countryside at their own pace. We are not a dude ranch, so horseback riding is not available to guest unless we can pre-arrange it for you. The Main Ranch house is separated from the cabin/bunkhouse by a driveway, parking and paddocks. We also ask guests to be aware that there are risks involved with animals and their care. Please always take precaution when approaching an animal that does not know you (including dogs, cats and large domestic animals). The NeighborhoodThis is "real" cowboy country and we're proud of it! Let us share a little of our history and get a peek of the old west still left in the heartland. Our neighborhood is friendly rural Americana Getting AroundThe capital city of Topeka, Kansas is a friendly town of 120,000 with it's share of attractions and hometown charm, cultural events. You'll need a car to get around. The local bus company offers rental bikes. (a great deal for visitors who want to use bikes for leisure activities around town) Check it out at Topeka Metro. Other Things to NoteHeartland Ranch is a horse and cattle operation. We have hosted many overnight horse-travelers from all over the country as a layover for people traveling to horse shows and campgrounds throughout the USA. We are not a dude ranch, guests who want to ride can be put in touch with a professional trainer.

Lovely home in small, rural community steps from Lake Pomona. This home is two miles from the State Park entrance which offers marina, boat rental, camping, picnic areas, playgrounds, hiking trails, bicycling and more. A lovely, well maintained golf course is only a mile away. Kanza Nature trail within two miles is a rails to trails course offering bicycling and hiking through countryside. The home is comfortable and décor is relaxing and inviting. The floor plan is open, living room, dining room and kitchen with bar seating. Kitchen is fully equipped for preparing meals. The master bedroom is on first floor along with full bathroom. Open staircase leads to two bedrooms and bath upstairs. Second level includes a queen bed in second bedroom, double size futon in bedroom 3 and a full bath with tub/shower. A large screened in back porch opens onto a generous back yard. Have morning coffee on the porch and enjoy the sounds of dozens of song birds or evening will offer you the opportunity to witness wild turkey as they make their way to the woods with in a half a block of the porch. The area is a birdwatchers paradise. Spring and fall bring migrating birds through central flyway, summer nesting residence such as Scissor Tailed Flycatcher, Oriole, and Dickcissel are common, winter residence such as Cedar Wax Wing and White Crowned Sparrow are abundant. Family run restaurants offering affordable home cooked meals are within a few miles. Close by is the Lamont Hills Golf Course which is well maintained and in a beautiful country setting. Fishing is good from boat or shore. Pomona Lake offers some of the best catfish and crappie angling in Kansas. Management efforts have also provided goo populations of walleye, white bass, and largemouth bass. Lighthouse Marina provides full services to boaters, fishermen, skiers, and campers.
