The SpaceThe space is only ever rented to one group at a time, so its always private. With 3 double bedrooms and a twin there are options depending on your needs to accommodate as many as 8 people. We like to be flexible though, so even if you're alone, or just one couple, drop us a line to see if we can sort something out. Guest AccessIrrespective of the number of bedrooms you take you get a private kitchen, 2 bathrooms and 2 living areas, plus private deck. There is undercover parking if required, and access to the garden of course. There are DVDs and games for the kids, and an undercover BBQ available for use any time. Interaction with GuestsThe guest accommodation is housed under the same roof as our living space, but is separated internally. So because we live at the property it doesn't matter if you are arriving late, we will be here to greet you. One of the things we are able to do differently at Tombolo Lodge is provide personalised support and services to our guests if required. If you have a question, problem or issue we are here to resolve it straight away. The NeighborhoodWith Wilson's Prom just down the road and the Inlets to either side of us the options for outdoor activities are pretty much all covered. Go hiking in the Prom, just enjoy pristine beaches, or explore the local area. There's a boat ramp 5 minutes away and under-cover space to store a boat at the Lodge. Or visit the local vineyards and sample some wonderful local produce. You let us know what you like to do and we can help plan your itinerary. By arrangement we can even take you on a guided tour/hike - ask us for details. Getting AroundIdeally you would have your own transport to get to us and to get around when you are here. If however you just want to escape the bustle of the city and just chill out for a couple of days you can get a VLine to Foster and we can organise transport options if given prior notice. Other Things to NoteWe try and tread gently in terms of our impact on the environment, with Solar panels to reduce dependence on grid electricity, rain water capture and waste water treatment systems and re-cycling of everything possible. Depending on the season and availability there are fresh organic vegetables and herbs growing in the garden, and fresh eggs from the resident chickens.

The SpaceThe house sleeps four (two couples, ideally). The deck (with a gas BBQ) extends on two sides of the house and is a great place to relax. The kitchen is equipped with most regular appliances/cookware needed. Steep stairs means that it's not great for little kids and those not agile. Guest AccessThere's a TV, CD/DVD/VHS player and computer data cable. If nights get cool, there's a fireplace and a wood shed with firewood and kindling. There's also books, magazines, board games, jigsaws and some sporting gear. Interaction with GuestsWe won't be around but we'll direct you (by email or phone) to the key deposit box and provide written instructions on how to turn on/off the various utilities, ie. gas, water, power. You can contact us if you have any queries. The NeighborhoodThe property has neighbours at the rear and on one side but they have minimal impact on the cabin's privacy. It is situated on a quiet street and the front outlook is rural. Except for a kiosk at the beach's caravan park, there's no shops, grocery stores, cafes, bars etc in Walkerville. Aaah, the serenity! We love that! There's lovely walking tracks and lookouts in the neighbouring Cape Liptrap Coastal Park and a beautiful safe small beach at South Walkerville. Getting AroundPrivate transport is essential to get to Walkerville and to enjoy the surrounds. The nearest VLine coach stop is at Fish Creek (about 15 mins drive away). Other Things to NoteMobile phone coverage can be sporadic. Our water supply is limited to one rainwater tank. This also serves as a firefighting supply during our hot dry summers so please be very mindful of how much you use. We endeavor to 'tread lightly' and to minimise our impact. If you get anxious about daddy long legs, please don't book. The place is surrounded by native vegetation and, as we deliberately don't use pesticides or harsh chemicals neither inside or out, you'll see daddy long legs in the ceiling corners. We regretfully knock their webs down periodically but they very quickly rebuild. But they prey on other insects including whitetails, so they're good guys. Some light dust may settle on surfaces between the last clean and the next guest booking, if local weather conditions have been windy. Again, if this bothers you, please don't book. Clean linen and towels are supplied, the same as what we use. However, if you want pristine sheets, please bring your own.

The SpaceBuilt with holidays in mind; Magic Beach is simple yet perfectly appointed. When you first approach the house, you'll notice the colours; natural zinc, deep-sea blues and greens, and timber weathering like driftwood. Climb the steps onto the decking, and enter through the marine blue frontdoor to be greeted by an oasis of natural light and muted tones. The cathedral ceiling give the open-plan living room an airy feel, but the deep couch and wood-heater seem perfect company on a blustery winter day. Swing open the full-height glass doors, and walk out to the alfresco room. The modern kitchen is a cook's playground. Stand at the stove and gaze at Wilson's Promontary through the glass splashback. Sit at the breakfast bar with the paper, or open the French windows and rest a glass of wine on the rail of the juliet balcony. Relax and unwind in the funky bathroom, before sinking into the goose-down luxury of the queen-size bed. Sleep the sleep of the relaxed, then wake up and do it all over again! There are countless ways to enjoy Magic Beach. Go on! Guest AccessThe key safe (which holds the front door key) is at the back of the house, next to the hot water service. We'll provide you with the code a few days before you arrive. The house is yours, although there are a couple of locked cupboards - there's nothing exciting in them. Please don't bother looking. Interaction with GuestsWe do not live nearby, but are contactable most of the time. The NeighborhoodWaratah Bay is the perfect bolt-hole. It's a beachside hamlet at the end of a small country road. *** Please note: there is limited mobile reception in Waratah Bay (Telstra is your best bet, but even that's patchy). There's a little shop where you can buy a coffee and the paper, or an ice-cream. Oh, and 15km of one of the best beaches in the world! Foster (a 15 minute drive) has a supermarket, butcher, fishmonger, green-grocer, bakery, bottle-shop and newsagent. Fish Creek has a couple of nice coffee shops, gallery and the famous "Fishy Pub". The famously beautiful Wilson's Promontary National Park is only 20 minutes away. *** Getting AroundOne of the best things about the hamlet of Waratah Bay, is that it is at end of a dead-end road. And Magic Beach is on a dead-end road. Hurrah for no traffic! Other Things to NoteThere are doonas and pillows, but you will need to bring your own towels (bathroom and beach), doona-cover, sheets and pillow-cases. *** Please note: we have a TV/DVD and Stereo at MagicBeach but there is no reception, so you will need to bring your own CDs and DVDs.

The SpaceShellback is a four bedroom cottage (small fourth bedroom) set on 75 private acres with spectacular views of Wilson’s Promontory across the ocean. It is a unique country property on acreage with “hidden away” feel. The road to Cape Liptrap is an exclusive part of Australia. About one third of the peninsula is National/Coastal Park, with farmland nestled within. Shellback is one of only a handful of country properties located on this peninsula. Rainfall in South Gippsland is higher than the rest of Victoria, so the landscape stays lush long after west and central Victoria has browned off. The peninsula’s landscape is green rolling hills right out to the Cape, where the cliffs drop off to Bass Strait. It is the second most southerly point of mainland Australia. Cape Liptrap juts out and picks up swell created miles out in the Southern Ocean, which crashes heavily on the cliffs below the lighthouse. It is a powerful place: Harshly beautiful. To get to the Shellback house you need to drive through a paddock, past two dams and under two rows of pine trees. The house has its own fenced enclosure. Sheep or cattle are grazed by the neighbouring farmer, so there is often livestock in the paddocks surrounding the house. The lower one third of the property’ the owners have dedicated to wildlife conservation. Several creeks meander through the bushland. Walking tracks have been cut, so there is plenty of exploring to do without leaving the property. There is a map of the property included in the photos. The proximity of so-much national park on the peninsula supports a great array of wildlife and provides wildlife corridors. Kangaroos, wallaby’s, lizards, echidna’s, possums, wombats, owls, frogs, eagles are residents, or common visitors to Shellback. There is always a myriad of birds including galah’s, cockatoo’s, blue wrens, swallows and our favourite; black cockatoos. One night driving back from Fish Creek we saw 12 wombats. There are local wedge tailed eagles that are often seen hunting in pairs or taking a rest at Shellback. They’re huge up close. The closest beaches are Bear Gully and Walkerville South about ten minutes-drive. It is the location for the fabulous children’s book “Magic Beach” by Allison Lester. The beach is beautiful, offering sandy stretches, climbing rocks and rock pools. When you are there it is easy to imagine how Allison dreamt up the events in the book. Even in peak season it is rarely crowded. If seclusion is your thing, you can walk toward and Bear Gully and usually find a beach to yourself. There is awesome snorkelling around arch rock. The house has been renovated over the last few years including bathrooms, double glazed windows installed and a massive deck and full new kitchen installed in 2015/16. The final refurnishing will be completed early Dec 2016, and photos available mid Dec 2016. Guest AccessGuests are welcome to explore the farmland and walking tracks that wind through the 75 acres. SLEEPING Sleeps 7 people: 4 bedroom (4th bedroom very small): 2 bathrooms (2 showers, 1x bath) •Master bedroom with en-suite and queen bed •Second bedroom with double bed •Third bedroom with 2x singles •Small forth bedroom with single Interaction with GuestsBefore your stay, you will be sent the key code for the house. Once there there is an info manual, with should have everything you need like recommended hospital, pharmacy etc. You won't see the owners or managers, but you can call Fleur at any time if you need something. The NeighborhoodShellback is named after the closest island in view of the house. You can see the island from the kitchen, straight ahead. It is a creamy white colour and resembles a clam shell. Behind, Wilson's Promontory has it's own weather patterns. It is always changing. Sometimes the blue hills are shrouded in mist, sometimes clear and sharp, and sometimes the Prom puts on a lightning show. The house is aligned so you get ocean views to Wilsons Prom from three bedrooms, the lounge room, kitchen and front balcony. It is close to Bear Gully, Cape Liptrap Lighthouse, Sandy Point, Waratah Bay, Venus Bay and about 30 minutes to Wilson's Prom. But we recommend you take lots of supplies and settle in at Shellback. It's not for everyone, but if you are searching for seclusion and get recharged by nature, if you want a bit of space from a crazy life, Shellback may be just the thing. Getting AroundCape Liptrap is quite remote. If you need supplies, it is 25-30 minutes drive to Tarwin Lower or Fish Creek. Keep your fuel topped up. Other Things to NoteAMENITIES Fully Self Contained House Enticing new kitchen to cook in, fully equipped with Dishwasher Front and back decks with outdoor settings Reverse cycle airconditioning BBQ Fully equipped laundry TV, DVD Cubby house Sandpit Cricket set, bocce, Table Tennis – The garage is set up as a games room Great walks around the property Wood fire with plenty of wood supplied Clean, comfortable beds with quality pillows Shellback is a farm in the country. If you are precious about animals, mud, dirt and dust, wind and rain, it might not be for you. We want to attract the right sort of people who will really enjoy nature.

The SpaceThis is a fully furnished one bed room cottage or what we Aussies call a "shack" meaning a weekender. It is perched on the edge of the sea surrounded by forests of ti trees. It is in Sandy Point, 2 and half hours drive from Melbourne. Sandy Point is half an hour drive from the famous Wilsons' Promonotory, a national park. Breath- takingly beautiful , Wilson's Prom is full of koalas, kangaroos, and other Aussie native animals that you can see in the wild. At night wombats and other nocturnal animals come out and with a torch, taking a walk, you can see these lovely gentle and shy animals. Nearby is Shallow Inlet, 5 minutes from my cottage, where you can wind surf, fish, swim and take absolutely divine walks on the beach. Our cottage, cabin or shack, is beautifully located in no through road corner, on the foreshore, meaning no one can build on this reserve. This road leads straight to the sea so it is perfectly safe for children and oldies as there are no traffic to watch out for. It has one bedroom that sleeps one couple and two kids under 12 is the best arrangement. A fully equipped kitchen including pots and pans, stove, electric frying pan, microwave, toaster, kettle, griller and cutlery and crockery for 4 people. The bedrooms have doonas (or duvets) and blankets. BUT PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN DOONA COVERS, BEDSHEETS, PILLOW CASES AND TOWELS AND PERSONAL TOILETRIES. The belly stove is new and is simply the cosiest in the world, well, my world anyway. This is my holiday shack and once upon- a -time love nest, and I rent out the whole place now to raise money for my charity to do with starving orphans in E Timor, India and Melbourne. It is very family friendly and pets are allowed if they do not interfere with the wildlife ie our beloved koalas, wombats, etc. Enjoy our holiday shack !
