It's especially beautiful in spring and summer. Guest AccessGuests can have the run of the house during their stay'. Unfortunately there is only one lounge area, so I will try to give you space. Interaction with GuestsI am a very social and chatty person and like the company of my guests. I will however respect your privacy. We do not have a local supermarket, but our local service station has a huge range of items. Gunning has the local Telegraph Hotel and they serve lunch and dinner. Gunning also has two gorgeous cafes, the Merino and the Hume. There are a few craft shops and a couple of Antique shops, (one in particular, a little Aladdin's Cave, just full of lots of intriguing Bric a Brac, a must visit). Also, we have the local market day on the last Sunday of the month. Gunning hosts a huge fireworks display once a year in September which attracts a big crowd and well worth a visit. Canberra is only 45-50 minutes from Gunning and the trip takes you through Gundaroo which has The Royal Hotel restaurant called (Grazing)with gorgeous food, the Crowes Wine bar and restaurant which is delightful to visit, and the Cork Street Pizza Place. Walks down to the river, through the hazelnut orchard or up to the even more magnificent views up the back of the farm are all highlights of our "Riverview Homestead" hospitality. Getting AroundA car is essential for your stay at "Riverview Homestead" Other Things to NoteHall is a located in the north west area of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), Australia. The town is named after the first landholder in the area, Henry Hall and founded in 1882. In 1911 Hall was included within the boundary of the land allocated for the Australian Capital Territory, close to the north western corner, near the New South Wales border. Although considered a village, similar to Tharwa, in practical terms Hall might now be considered an outer suburb of Australia’s capital City Canberra. In 1954 the main street of Hall (which had been part of the state highway system since 1935) was named the Barton Highway. In 1980 the alignment of the highway was shifted to the south as part of a dual carriage upgrade, bypassing Hall completely. Some features of note within Hall village are the equestrian park, playing fields, showground, and former Hall Primary School, along with a small shopping centre and three historic churches. The showground area plays host to the Hall Markets held on the first Sunday of every month. This an award winning and very popular charity market showcasing local farm produce and hand crafted goods. This a cottage industry lover's dream. "Riverview Homestead" is located in the Hall area on the NSW side of the border 11.73 kms down Wallaroo Road from the Barton Highway.
