The SpaceWelcome to the Farmhouse! My family has lived at this homestead for three generations, and I look forward to welcoming you here. If it's winter, you can enjoy the fields of snow and cross country ski out the back door. In spring, the woods are filled with wildflowers and mushrooms. For summertime, walk or ride one of my mountain bikes to the beach at spring-fed Walloon Lake and enjoy an ice-cream at the General Store. And in fall, you can hike local trails to experience the vibrant changing colors! At any season, you can stay right on the property to enjoy nature- simply sit by the pond and gardens or watch the snow fall out the window. There are puzzles and family board games to play inside on a rainy day or evening before bed. Guest AccessThe upstairs bedrooms can accommodate up to two guests in two separate rooms. Or two in one and one in the other. There is a shared full bath downstairs. Other common areas include a front sitting room and a living room with a TV. Since this is a country home on a dead-end dirt road, there are limited TV channels and no Wifi. However, cell phone service has improved significantly in recent years! Check in time is listed as 5pm, with checkout by 9am. These times may be flexible depending on whether there are bookings before or after your stay. If this won't work with your schedule, please inquire with the times you need. Interaction with GuestsThis is my primary residence, and I stay in a bedroom downstairs, (the two rooms available are in the front of the house, and my room is in the back). I will be available most of the time at check-in to give an orientation of the house, and I will also provide a light breakfast of herbal teas, french-pressed coffee and tasty scones . During the day I may be at work, or working in my gardens outside. We will share the only bathroom downstairs off of the kitchen. The NeighborhoodLiving in Northern Michigan is simple and relaxing.
