The SpaceOur house is quite large for a two bedroom apartment. The guest bedroom is on the third floor with plenty of privacy. The only other space on the third floor is the attic so there are few reasons you would see us upstairs. The room has AC and a television, but no cable. Guest AccessAs our guest you will have access to all shared spaces. We have a bathroom and fully stocked kitchen. Our living room is very nicely decorated with plenty of sun light and a very comfortable couch. Our apartment also has a back deck that we have begun to gather a collection of plants and herbs. Interaction with GuestsMy husband and I are both friendly and kind and enjoy meeting new people. The space available is a spare bedroom in our current residence. Since the kitchen and bathroom are both shared on weekdays we try to orchestrate logistics for the mornings and evenings beforehand. The NeighborhoodWe live within walking distance to a wide range of restaurants, markets, shops and bars. Waltham is a wonderfully eclectic town that has amassed a very good selection of restaurants. Getting AroundPublic transportation is plentiful. There is a commuter rail stop within a 10 minute walk from our apartment that will take you right downtown. There are also a buses within a block that will do the same, although not as rapidly.

The SpaceMy house is around 100 years old. It used to sit on an orchard, now converted into a neighborhood of mostly cape houses. Mine is built in an American Bungalow style with lovely old fashion details. Guest AccessThe kitchen is available for simple meal preparations such as warming up foods or storing beverages. Full size dinner preparations are not possible as the kitchen is a shared resource. A cold breakfast is included with your stay consisting of bagels, muffins, toasts, orange juice, fresh fruit, and coffee. There is a beverage fridge in the kitchen that guests can access for storing foods and drinks. A microwave, a toaster and a toaster oven are available for your use. Access to a laundry room with state of the art washer and dryer, iron, and ironing board. The bathrooms are shared with one more guest. I have exercise equipment that you are welcome to use. Interaction with GuestsI love making conversation with my guests, one of the main reasons why I like hosting. But don't feel like you have to go out of your way, you can retrieve to your room and that is ok with me as well! :) The NeighborhoodMy neighborhood is very safe. Very family oriented, every other house has little kids which is remarkable. My house is half a block away from the Gore Place, a fifty acre mansion who used to belong to a MA governor and is open to the public for walks, jogging, or simply sit down and read a book in its beautiful gardens. The Charles river is three streets away which has a reservation path for biking and jogging all the way into Boston! The SpaceTwin Bed Room -- $65/night This bedroom is at the rear of the house where it's quiet. Great feng shui for sleeping and relaxing. You can even hear the call of a hoot owl at night. Radio and alarm clock. Airy spacious room, great reading chair, writing desk, shared bath with host. WIFI access. Guest AccessAccess to TV in living room if not being used by host. Tea/Coffee Continental Breakfast provided (except for extended stays). Limited fridge space. Interaction with GuestsI interact with guests as much as they want. If it's quiet and privacy you seek, that's what you will have. If you want to chat and get to know one another over tea, we can do that, too. I provide a list of area restaurants for your consideration. The NeighborhoodSafe walking neighborhood with a rather wild, wood-forested park at the top of my hill. Good for a brisk day walk. Also, walking distance to Waltham's excellent restaurants. I can provide you with a current list of what's good at various rates $, $$, $$$. Getting AroundI live about less than a mile from an MBTA Commuter Rail that goes into Boston. Local buses run to Cambridge. It is also about a 15 minute ride to the MBTA Riverside Station which will take you right into downtown Boston. Very easy to navigate. Also, there is a good Enterprise Car Rental company in town that will pick you up at my house to bring you to get your rental. Other Things to NoteYou should know that the upstairs bath is shared with me. It's always spotless and there's a small half-bath on the 1st floor that I'll use for the most part when you are my guest.

The SpaceThis handsome bedroom is on the second floor and looks out over ancient sugar maples that are spectacular in the autumn. While the room is cozy, the antique mahogany sleigh bed will welcome you with a great night sleep. WIFI. NOTE: This is a double bed -- not a King or Queen. Guest AccessGuest share access to a full bathroom with me--your host. It is always spotless and has a great shower and bath. I do have a TV downstairs in my living room and if I'm not using it, just ask and I'll show you how to turn it on. There is also a lovely enclosed 3-season front porch excellent for reading, watching the sky, and listening to NPR. Finally, I have a great patio with chairs for reading under the lilacs and other trees. Interaction with GuestsIf there's anything you need, just ask me. If I can help, I will. Some guests prefer to be solitary and keep to themselves. That's fine with me. If you want to chat and get to know one another, we can do so over a cup of tea. I provide tea or coffee and a very light Continental breakfast to my short-term guests. Please let me know if you have any allergies. The NeighborhoodI live less than a mile from Brandeis University and Bentley University so my place is great for parents who are visiting their college student kids. I am a short walk to Waltham center and thus very close to plenty of good (and even fine) restaurants. Getting AroundMy home is about a half mile from the MBTA Commuter Rail which goes into Boston. I'm also a 15 minute ride to the MBTA Riverside Greenline Stop and about a 20 minute ride to the MBTA Redline Alewife Stop. Uber is also available. Other Things to NoteIf you plan to rent a car, there is an Enterprise Car Rental here in Waltham and I think they will even pick you up at my house and take you to their place when you want to pick up your car. I have off-street parking for one car. Also, there are stairs that lead up to my house, so unfortunately my home is not handicapped accessible. I have a fine Baldwin piano if you like to play.

The SpaceOur home is a large old victorian home built in 1888 in historic Waltham. We have a large active family and enjoy sharing our home with airbnb guests. Our home has new construction for the bathrooms and kitchens and old style victorian rooms with an all wooden cathedral ceiling on the third floor. The house is up on a hill on a private lane with plenty of parking available on the street. There are a few busses that come to our street, and we are 1 mile away from "Waltham Station" a commuter rail station (train/metro) and bus station. Guest AccessThere are 4 bathrooms in the house, 2 kitchens, 2 washers and dryers, two living rooms, a library, den, and a garden (we're happy to share). Our airbnb guests tend to share the kitchen, laundry, and bathroom on the third floor. However, our guests have access to the 1st and 2nd floor bathrooms, our den, library, and 1st floor kitchen, and second laundry machines as needed. You may also use our projector to watch cinema style movies on the 3rd floor. We have kayaks and paddle boards (and life jackets) we're willing to share with guests who have experience with them too. Interaction with GuestsWe're a busy family, and understand our guests are busy too. We're happy to say a nice "hello" when coming and going, but for the most part we prefer to give you your space, and go about our day. That being said, we do check in after a guests has been here a night or two and make sure you're comfy and cozy, and are available to answer any questions or help with any issues/requests as needed. We want our guests to feel welcome (but not put upon) and to feel like all your needs are being met during your stay in our home. You do not need to interact with the pets, but you are welcome to if you so desire. (Please do not shut them in your room as they should always have access to food, water, and a place to have potty breaks.) The NeighborhoodThis is a nice suburb of Boston. We're on a private lane behind a public "hill/park" which offers a nice hike through the woods, and some BBQ grills up on top. Waltham is a nice town with many ethnic restraunts and privately owned book stores. It's a quiet suburb of Boston which provides a nice combination of getting to the city, but not being in it. There is also a very nice outdoor running track a few blocks away (on Bacon St), an ice skating rink, a YMCA, and public swimming pools. Getting AroundThere's plenty of on street parking, and a large public transportation system within a mile (some busses come even closer then that such as the MBTA 70a bus which comes to our street, or Waltham Station which has commuter rail and many busses one mile away). You can look at the MBTA website for further information on getting around ((URL HIDDEN) That being said our neighborhood offers many taxi companies and Uber drivers, a zip car station, and auto rentals nearby. Other Things to NoteWe welcome anyone from any nationality, ethnicity, religion, LGBT, or any other background. We believe strongly in equality, and enjoy diversity. Our home is bed bug, flea, lice free - it's very important for us to keep it that way. If you have recently been exposed or could be carrying any of these pest we request you please do not stay here. We welcome communication above all if something isn't meeting your needs, let us know, we're happy to help and see what we can do.
