Tadpole Manor is part of a new culture of sharing, trust, abundance, and kindness. The home is on a few acres of land, amongst trees, along a year round creek. There are cats, dogs, chickens geese and ducks that share the land. The closest restaurant for food is 5 miles west at the Deadwood Tavern. Secluded but not primitive. Think: summer family vacation camp on a creek. Guest AccessGuests can cook or have meals cooked for them. Picnic lunches can be made for your trips in the country. You can feel free to participate in the garden, landscaping, rock art, or extended family activities. There are books, games, and media for use. Food is on a donation basic, following a gift economy model. If you are interested in visiting a goat farm, or visiting gypsy horses that can be arranged. Seasonal blueberry picking and apple pressing on a donation basis. If you want me to stock anything special please let me know. Interaction with GuestsI will interact as desired by guests. Owner can, if asked, provide meals on a DONATION basis, and offers organic provisions for guests. Locals that interact with the farm stop by on a random basis, so you will never be sure if you will meet a character or two. Hostess can share techniques of food security, baking, organic farming, or crafts. Maps and suggestions for local fun shared as desired. The NeighborhoodSecluded. A dinner and dance at the Deadwood Community Center 3rd Saturday of the month. Local farms may be open for apple pressing, blueberry picking depending on season. See a working goat farm, visit Gypsy horses, or visit to Circle of Children Village School. 40 minutes drive to Florence on the Pacific Ocean. We are 8 miles to a summer attraction at Triangle Lake with swimming and a natural rock slide. There is always hiking and lounging at creek. The creek hosts a yearly salmon run which is observed from the bank at my creek. There is a Sunday Farmers Market during the summer months. The local tavern is 5 miles away. Local artists list their wares at the Deadwood Marketplace web site - Deadwood Trading Post. There is even a monthly newsletter listing all the Deadwood Village Events, called the Deadwood Ditto. Getting AroundThe Eugene Airport is 35 miles to the east, and pickup can be arranged. Since it is out in the country, if you want to get around a car is necessary. Other Things to NoteSunday Farmers Market from Late May to Thanksgiving. Third Saturday of the month, dinner and dance at the Community Center 8 miles away. Local Deadwood Tavern and Market is 5 miles away. You could pitch a tent and sleep under the stars most times of the year. Full stream soundtrack ambiance always included. There is a covered deck with seating on the porch. Outdoor cooking BBQ is set up. House is on clean well water. I have a water filter so that the unique sulfur taste, even if healthful, is no longer a taste problem. Lots of trees, water and clean air. We have animals.. Awake to rooster crowing.. ducks quacking, geese doing what they do. There are two Border Aussie dogs, and three cats.

Room for tents and larger groups with assurance of "No Trace Camping". Pristine Creek and Nature preserve. Non smoking and prefer no pets. Wildlife consideration :-) We are nature guides and teachers (retired public school and current UO instructor), offer skills classes upon request for reasonable rate: Fire, Shelter, Water, Food... And intro to Forest and Creek life. Enjoy our unobstructed view of the beautiful, natural Triangle Lake from the spacious three bedroom, two bath home with a large outdoor entertainment, view deck. Swim, paddle board, bike, hike, bird watch, or just relax in one of mother nature's most cherished places. Two paddle boards are ready to take you on a peaceful journey around the lake. You may even see the bald eagles nesting along the way. All of the modern amenities are included, along with free wifi internet and two satellite televisions. The modern kitchen is stocked and ready for food preparation. The bedrooms are equipped with luxurious linens on two king-size beds, one queen bed and a pull-out bed in the living room leather corner couch.
