The SpaceThe Studio is a quiet get-away for independent travelers providing very good access to Warkworth, Puhoi and Matakana Villages, local beaches and many other attractions. There are a number of art studios and sculpture parks in the area. There is also good access to the beautiful, historic Kaipara Harbour. Guest AccessThe Studio is separate and self-contained and guests come and go as they please. It is surrounded by native bush, some of which is accessible to guests - talk with the hosts please. Interaction with GuestsDepending on guests and our availability, we may enjoy a glass of wine or cup of coffee. We will usually be available when guests are staying. The NeighborhoodWe love easy access to Auckland, nearby beaches, Warkworth, Matakana and Puhoi Villages and Markets and other local attractions. We love the peace and quiet, the birds and the open area with a native bush outlook. Getting AroundGuest parking is available adjacent to the Studio. Public transport is not a sensible option as people would not be independent. Other Things to NoteWe like to provide guests with a range of Nikau Retreat produce for breakfast e.g. homemade muesli and marmalade and honey from our bees and at times fruit from the orchard. We have a 'shared' young dog called Pippi on the property; please reprimand her if she is overly friendly.

As a holiday get away Redbluff Country Lodge is perfect. Comfortable, self contained with everything you may need. Only 4km from Warkworth township, beaches, fishing or sailing, golf course, cafes, restaurants, horse riding, Matakana shopping and cinema. Local crafts such as Morris and James Pottery, wineries. The Lodge has a Morrison family history dating back to 1873 when Edward Morrison purchased the property and had the largest pip fruit orchard in the Sourthern herisphere. Edward is famous for propergating the Morrison Seedless grapefruit on the property. In the early 1900's the fire blight desease was suspected on the property and the whole orchard was distroyed, even though Edward denied this and this has been proven as he kept several pear trees which still fruit abundantly today. The property was turned into a dairy farm and has come through the generations. Ian the present owner is the forth generation of the Morrison family and purchased the farm in 1971. Milked cows for two years but as this was uneconomic changed to dry stock. In 1973 he and his wife Jyl began wood carving with swamp Kauri and from there established the Redbluff Gallery which became a very successful business, subsidising the farm income. The Lodge was their home for 43 years but in March 2015 they started to have built a new home for which they made their own bricks. So turning their old home into a Lodge seemed to be the right thing to do and they opened this in January 2016. The encouraging comments of all who have stayed has proved to them that this has been the right decision and they look forward to meeting and hosting people from all walks of life. Special conditions: Smoking allowed outside only No spicy foods such as curries to be prepared in the kitchen. Make sure you make yourselves at home and have a wonderful time.
