Lake Winnepocket is nestled at the foot of Mount Kearsarge only 20 minutes from Concord, NH. The 200 acre spring fed lake features a mostly undeveloped shoreline and a peaceful, low key atmosphere for families and couples looking to relax and get away from life for a while. The cabin sleeps 6- 8 in 4 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king sized bed and full private bathroom. The other three rooms share a 3/4 bathroom. The remaining bedrooms have a queen sized bed, bunk beds and a trundle bed. A large living/dining area has a table that seats 10. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook comfortably. There is, unfortunately, no dishwasher or washer-dryer on site, but there is a laundromat/laundry service in nearby Warner and Contoocook. For fun outside, there is a private front yard and beach with dock. The water slopes gently off our sandy beach, so it's a perfect play area for children. There is a peddleboat and water and sand toys, as well as badminton and croquet sets. There is a gas grill, fire pit, and tables for outdoor dining, as well as lounge chairs. For indoor entertainment, there is a TV with DVD and VCR and a library of videos. There are games, toys, and books for kids, as well as board games for the occasional rainy day. The fireplace warms up the room on chilly evenings. There is now wireless internet access at the cabin as well as a landline phone (local calls only). The lake is popular with kayakers and canoeists who like to explore the mostly wooded shoreline. The water is crystal clear and it is a great place to swim. A primitive boat launch and no parking, limits the number of watercraft that have access to the lake. Winnepocket is a very peaceful place to spend your summer vacation. This lake is unique among New Hampshire lakes in that it is mostly undeveloped and most of the cabins that dot the shoreline continue to be used as weekend get aways for local families. Fisherman will find Rainbow Trout sipping midges on the surface on many summer evenings and shoreline structure holds healthy populations of Bass and Perch. Loons are a fixture on the lake from early spring until late fall and during most years a breeding pair can be found cruising the lake. If you want to get out and explore this is a great place to stay biking the country roads is a popular past time, as well as hiking Mount Kearsarge or exploring nearby Rollins State Park. If you are looking for the shopping experience, Tanger Outlets are 40 minutes away in Tilton and Concord's Main Street offers both shopping and great dining options. Our family has been summering on Winnepocket for more than 50 years and we look forward to sharing this hidden gem with you and your family! * Renters must be at least 21 years of age.
