(You are welcome to bring your own trailered boat as well as use ours) Free city docking on Washington waterfront. Walking in our small neighborhood tucked away so close to downtown or through our little wooded trails. Washington has many festivals, special events, boat tours of the Pamlico River all noted on the City of Washington website calendar. Belle of Washington and Jennie B. Schooner offer sailing cruises, dinner cruises and sunset cruises. Unique shops, delicious restaurants, bakery and a Saturday Farmers Market in our historic downtown harbor district. downtown along the waterfront. East Carolina University, Goose Creek State Park and New Bern are close by. Getting AroundExactly 3 miles to downtown Washington by car or boat. Washington is a walking little town that will delight you, with a short drive to East Carolina University, Greenville and the other seaside town of New Bern. Goose Creek State Park with various hiking trails and the outstanding Sylvan Heights Bird Park nearby will delight you. Take the bikes for long country rides or a short jaunt around town, with a stop at the bakery and maybe chat with the locals. Everything is very close and easy from Wood's Edge and we will help you in any way. A possibility to kayak from our home to the downtown Harbor District for lunch and shopping, weather permitting.
