Other Things to NoteTra le varie attività possibili ci sono safari, a partire dallo Tsavo National Park, Masai Mara, Amboseli, Rift Valley, Lago Nakuru. Altre escursioni verso Malindi, le rovine di Gede, le magiche Hells Kitchen di Marafa, la falconeria di Malindi e l'arcipelago di Lamu.

The SpaceThe house is situated on one of the most picturesque stretches of Watamu beach, ideally located right opposite the Coral Gardens of the Marine Park. There are no large hotels nearby, only private residences. Built high in the trees, its unique architecture affords a 360 degree panorama of the Indian Ocean coastline on one side and native forest on the other. Whether you prefer to take the house on a self-catering or full-board basis, you will be well taken care of by the friendly, professional and experienced cook and domestic staff. Watamu Treehouse has seven double bedrooms. There are also a number of other beds and sleeping areas, such as those on the rooftop under the stars and the beach-deck down on the shore. The house is designed to sleep 14 people, but can comfortably accommodate more (Note the price is given is indicative of 2 persons full board, and your price will depend on number of persons and the meal plan selected). There is everything you need here for a wonderful holiday. Just bring yourselves and your toys. You can bring your own food for the cook to prepare, but if you choose not to, no problem. Daily deliveries of fresh seafood and produce, and anything from the local supermarket can be arranged. The kitchen is equipped with fridge, cooker, oven, deep-freeze, plus a good range of utensils and cookware. As this is also a family home, you will find high quality crockery, cutlery and glassware in the cupboards, as well as fine bedlinen, mosquito-netting and towels. Note: Please bring your own bathroom consumables, as they are not provided with the house rental. he house consists of three towers in the trees, linked by bridges, stairways and ramps. Most of the building was deliberately set above the beautiful coastal forest - for the stunning views and the cooling breeze, and also to avoid unnecessary damage to the natural environment. The house has no windows - just frames around vistas of nature in all its glory. You share the forest with the birds, insects, small mammals, reptiles and primates. The forest boasts many indigenous trees common to the coastal strip, including beautiful baobabs and many examples of the remarkable bamba-kofi. Both living and sleeping areas are situated just above the forest canopy, open to the cooling coastal breezes and the scintillating views. You sleep breathing the fresh air of the forest and awaken to the early morning calls of the wildlife - especially birds and sykes monkeys! The views from the house are stunning. Unusually for the East Coast of Africa, Watamu Treehouse offers a complete 360 degree horizon, affording sensational views of sunsets over forests, coconut plantations and Mida Creek, as well as sunrises and moonrises over the Indian Ocean... You have a choice of several verandas and a sublime rooftop space, all designed to accommodate both communal activities and private retreats from which to contemplate the beauty of the surroundings. Please note that the house is built high off the ground. If a fear of heights, climbing up flights of stairs, would spoil your holiday, then this might not be the best house for you. It should also be reconsidered should any member of your party be prone to losing their balance after a particularly long and well-lubricated night! Getting AroundYou do not need your own transport. You can walk, SUP or kayak most places. And when needed we can order you a taxi, motorbike or tuktuk for transport

Watamu services & watersports a 5 minute drive away. Watamu 2nd best beach in Africa by CNN! Watamu is an easy 1-hour flight from Nairobi, Kenya. 4 airlines service the Nairobi-Malindi route, and the house is an easy 20 minute drive from Malindi airport. Watamu is a protected marine park, which means pristine, blinding white beaches, no "beach boys", no inshore fishing, and plenty of sea life! Go whale, dolphin & turtle watching; go water skiing, stand-up paddle boarding, kite surfing, boating, canoeing/kayaking, cycling. Tours to ancient ruins, a coastal forest, mangrove forests also available. The house is offered on a self-catering basis, but the house comes with full staff including cook. A concierge service can be added to the rates for them to do your initial shopping and provide support services during your stay. "Home of the Sweet People" is what "Watamu" means in Swahili, but you'll find it's much, much more than friendly faces (of which there are many). Watamu is prized for its 5 km long powdery white sand beach (named the 2nd best beach in Africa by CNN Travel in 2012), warm coral-reefed lagoon exploding in a million shades of aqua, a rich tidal inlet rife with diversions, and its residential & relaxed atmosphere. Watamu has remained so pristine because it's actually a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and a 229 square km National Marine Park—designated as a place of "natural excellence", and we couldn't agree more. This beach is free from commercialism, there are no "beach boys", no onshore fishing—just a peaceful, long stretch of blinding-white beach with pristine conditions most of the year. At low tide Heavenly has access to the full length of Turtle Bay, and at high tide a headland magically turns Heavenly into its own private cove. Activities in Watamu abound. For water lovers, one can go snorkeling & scuba diving in the marine park; dolphin & whale watching; water skiing and wake boarding; kite surfing; stand-up paddle boarding; deep-sea fishing (we strongly encourage catch & release only); dhow sailing trips; and more. On land there is a new lovely, well kept 9-hole pitch & putt golf course; a reptile center (popular with kids); ancient ruins; exploring the largest coastal forest in East Africa; cycling; turtle watching; luxuriating at a nearby spa; and much more.

Barefoot living, beachfront hideaway for nature lovers. Situated on the North Coast of Kenya, approximately 100km North of Mombasa and 45km South of Malindi, this stunning position (yet affordable escape) borders the clear coral waters of the protected Watamu Marine Park. It's also accessible by air (a 45-minute flight from Nairobi to Malindi). Transport from Malindi airport or from Watamu or from the main-road turnoff can be arranged. The banda is a small Swahili type dwelling, typically under makuti. Overlooking the swimming pool and beautiful protected bay the (double) bedrooms are either upstairs or ground floor with king beds. Four toilet and shower rooms are not en suite making them accessible to all guests. The banda leads onto an expansive patio. Your catch of the day can be grilled on an open fire. The beach and sublime swimming area are literally a few steps away, as is a freshwater shower at the poolside. Makuti unbrellas on fine white beachsand serve as a wonderful cool area during the day and for sundowners or early morning coffee. The protected mooring of this virtually private cove and its rustic, down to earth, unpretentious yet comfortable accommodation, swaying coconut palms and endemic baobabs (just to remind you that you're in Africa!), add to the blissful atmosphere of barefoot living. The swimming pool (filled from its own sea-water well), is almost unnecessary as swimming in the creek when the tide is in is awesome. Water sports in the area include kite-surfing, wind-surfing, water-skiing, water-boarding, kayaking, snorkeling or scuba-diving along the reef which is teeming with marine-life. Deep sea fishing (beyond the marine park), is world renowned, the tag and release method practiced by most hire boats. We're fringing on Mida Creek, a tidal inlet that expands across an area of 32 km2 and one of the most productive mangrove forest ecosystems in the world which offers different types of habitats influenced by the tide, e.g. sand flats in shallow waters are favored by thousands of flamingos. In fact Mida Creek is, for good reason, a recognized International Bird Area and together with Arabuko-Sokoke Forest (where elephant drink most evenings from the forest pan) forms a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. It is not only a paradise for national waterfowls, but also migrating birds from Europe and Eurasia, a place for them to rest during their journey and some even choosing to stay in Mida Creek to over-winter. Some 6,000 waders have been made, including 7 regionally threatened species and 65 species of aquatic birds. In the landward area around the creek, a further 115 species have been recorded. The mangroves around the edge of the creek are not only important roosting places for birds but also habitat to crabs and open areas of the creek and its mangrove channels are important feeding and breeding grounds for many species of fish species including jacks, snappers, rabbit fish, parrot-fish, emperors and big game fish such as barracuda, grouper, tuna, sailfish, wahoo and marlin. Mida Creek is also an important feeding and development area for juvenile green and hawksbill sea turtles. Coral heads and the rich sea-grass beds provide food in sheltered areas away from large predators. Explorations into the creek are traditionally done by local fishermen who will pole you in and out of the maze of mangrove channels in their dugouts bird-spotting. Nature has positioned this little remote retreat to enjoy unforgettable sunrises, sunsets and moon rises. We love it and hope that you will too... Karibu! Friendly neighbourhood with a few scattered villages.
