The SpaceThis special Maine private apartment, built in 2006 is attached to our 200 year old home. The exterior purposely looks like a barn, but the interior is furnished with a living room with Hearthstone propane stove; Cable TV; WiFi; kitchen with bar seating; private bath with large shower and W/D; separate bedroom with queen bed and decent closet space; all linens included. For your comfort, this space fits a single or a couple, maximum. Sorry no pets. Great spot for relaxing and exploring. We have a large deck with grill for sharing and a large backyard with chairs for relaxing. A good spot for a business traveler with an easy commute into Portland, or a great temporary set up for any executive relocating to the Southern Maine area while looking for a new home. We do provide some breakfast foods and beverages to get you going for the day. There is always a sweet treat for you on arrival and the snack might be home-baked (time permitting). Guest AccessThere is a private front entrance and a private back door that exits to the deck area, where there is a table for 2, and a large backyard. If you want to use the grill, just let us know. There is a large driveway for parking and plenty of lighting. Interaction with GuestsAs host, I would be happy to help with local sightseeing ideas, restaurant recommendations and entertainment information and directions. Or, we could meet and greet and you have total privacy. I can be available in person or by phone during your stay. Local events: Maine Foodie Tours around Portland; Brew Pub tours around Portland-Craft Beer is a big thing around Portland; strolling around the Old Port; Or the Portland Museum of Art with many nice restaurants close by. We are about an hour drive to L.L. Bean in Freeport. Great restaurants and shopping close by in Kennebunk and Kennebunkport. The NeighborhoodOur home/apartment is located on 4 acres off a very quiet dead-end street in the historic town of Alfred, Maine, in York County. There is only neighborly traffic and sounds. It is a peaceful spot and lends itself to relaxing, walking, reading or sitting and observing nature. Approximately 30 minutes from Kennebunkport and ocean adventures, or the City of Portland, now known as a foodie town. Try a Maine Foodie Tour around Portland, the Portland Museum of Art, or just strolling around the Old Port. Getting AroundThere is no public transportation. If you fly into Portland a car rental is needed. There is a small airport in Sanford for private planes and small executive jets and that is 15 minutes from the house. The Bush family uses this airport regularly. There are car rentals locations in Sanford. Other Things to NoteThis apartment offers privacy and is an excellent fit for leisure travel or business travel in Maine, for a single or couple. In Summer, we monitor the weather and place air conditioning in as necessary; otherwise ceiling fans cool nicely. In winter, we heat by a Hearthstone propane stove. The kitchen does not have a dishwasher or microwave. The Town of Alfred offers the Oak Street Bistro restaurant, a small art gallery and a book shop with antiques. Close by is the Town of Sanford and offers a pub-style restaurant -Mill 67. Sanford offers grocery stores, take-out foods and movies. Many food and fun options available in the Portland and Kennebunk area and we are located in-between. It's an easy drive to Route 1 and the Coastal towns, or into the Old Port in downtown Portland.

Bob Marley, the comedian from Maine, says, “Camp is a structure next to a body of water…  It isn’t a ‘Cabin’ or a ‘lake house’ and it sure isn’t a ‘cottage’!   You don’t go down to camp or over to camp…  You go UPTA camp!”   Available for rent – summer of 2016.  Camp Pine Needles, located on beautiful Little Ossipee  Lake in Waterboro, ME. Little Ossipee Lake has an area of 564 acres maximum depth of 72 feet.  The water is crystal clear and is fantastic for swimming or boating. Camp Pine Needle was built in the 1940s and is 24 feet by 24 feet with a full view of Little Ossipee Lake. It has one bedroom with a full-size bed, a trundle bed and a pullout sleep sofa. It has a newly redone kitchen with refrigerator and small stove and oven with all the cooking utensils and dishes and silverware. It has a microwave, toaster oven, toaster, coffee maker and a 32 inch TV, though there is no cable or internet service provided. There are some Blu-Ray disks as well as games and books you may wish to enjoy. Outside is a picnic table, charcoal grill and chairs plus your own private dock if you wish to bring a small boat. The public boat launch is a few minutes away in sight of the camp. The lake is spring fed and crystal clear and great for swimming as well as boating. Sitting on the eastern shore of the lake , you get the benefits of afternoon sun and wonderful sunsets. Lakeside Market is a five minute walk away and is a gas station and convenience store with takeout food and beer and wine. A few miles away is a Hannaford's supermarket with all your grocery needs.

Enjoy the ultimate in peaceful tranquility with this completely re-modeled 1,100 sf Lakehouse with an exposed lakefront porch that is literally "right on the lake". Located in a protected (No-Wake) cove on one of Maine’s most pristine lakes, this Lakehouse offers astounding water views (floor to ceiling windows in all rooms excluding bedrooms), a large sandy bottom knee-deep water sport play area (basketball hoop included) and a deep water floating raft for games and diving. The protected No-Wake cove is perfect for swimming, snorkeling, canoeing, paddle-boarding, kayaking, and fishing…yet within 300 feet is the main body of the lake, great for motor-boating, tubing, kneeboarding, or water skiing. An oversized dock provides plenty of room for socializing, sunbathing (lakefront receives full sun from approximately 11AM-7PM) or quiet reading while you enjoy the spectacular unobstructed lake views of over 1 mile. A canoe, 2 kayaks, paddleboard, and a 5 person paddleboat and a private mooring for your own boat are available for use during your stay with us. A large outdoor patio with 4-burner propane grill is conveniently adjacent to the kitchen door to provide outdoor dining facilities that comfortably seat over 20 people to accommodate large gatherings. This patio is slightly shaded during all hours to give you some relief from the summer sun, yet still allow spectacular dining views. This area also has a self-contained fire-pit (equipped with ample seasoned firewood) with flame arrester to enable you to safely enjoy smores over the campfire overlooking the beautiful lake. There is a large, flat, grassy area to play some badminton or other dry land games. A basketball hoop, badminton/volley ball net, and a horseshoe pit are also set up for your convenience. Little Ossipee Lake is one of Southern Maine's nicest lakes, 564 acres and over 3 ½ miles long of crystal-clear water ideally located in Waterboro, Maine…between Portland, Maine and North Conway, New Hampshire. The town of Waterboro has a Hannaford Supermarket, Dunkin Donuts, Subway, Aroma Joe's, Movie Gallery and restaurants to provide you with the amenities of your home at this secluded getaway vacation location. A public boat launch facility is available from the town free of charge. The Lakehouse is a short ride to southern Maine’s legendary coastline, Old Orchard Beach, that offers 7 miles of sandy ocean beach with an amusement park and numerous shops and Restaurants, as well as Funtown/Splashtown which is a full fledge amusement and water park both only a 30 minute drive away. We rent just a few weeks each year while our children are busy in sports and only rent to individual families with required references to ensure we can maintain the property at a very high standards. The SpaceIt's basically an entire private apartment! Guest AccessPrivate bedroom, own private bath, full kitchen and living space. Living space has a pull-out couch for the additional 2 people. 4 total can stay here. One TV with cable and internet access will be provided either in your bedroom or the living room, just let me know! Wifi password will be provided at check-in. Air conditioner available in the summer time only. Guests who stay for a week or more have use of our laundry. I am a private chef, so if you'd like to book a dinner, cooked by me in our main kitchen and dining room, please send me a message! Great for a Romantic getaway or just if you want to have a really delicious meal without going out! Interaction with GuestsYou will meet us both or at least one of us for check in and to get situated. We may or may not be around to answer any questions, but just text message or call. I am happy to give suggestions on places to go if you need it. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is centrally located in a small town. It's a quiet place to relax and enjoy yourself. There are some small restaurants near by as well as shops and a large grocery store, but even more with just a 15 minute drive to Biddeford. The beautiful city of Portland is 30-40 minutes away, Kennebunkport and Ogunquit are amazing in the summer and only 20-30 minutes away. There are trails for hiking and exploring the Maine woods near by as well. Getting AroundYou will need a vehicle to get around. You can walk to the close by stores and restaurants.
