The SpaceMy private and secure family home is just a 5 minute stroll to Glendalough Train Station and just 2 stations to Perth. Clean room with comfortable bed, desk, chair, TV & DVD. Quiet location, 5km's to the city and 8km to Scarborough Beach. My home is super clean and whisper quiet. Shared bathroom and kitchen but both are very large. Quiet neighbourhood. Very safe and secure. Walking distance to lots of cafes and restaurants. 25 minute walk to the Leederville cafe strip & 10 minute walk to the Mt Hawthorn cafés. Bottle shop, Italian, Chinese & Indian restaurant within a 3 minute walk. IGA supermarket a 7 minute walk & Woolworths 10 minutes. The train is around the corner and two stops in to the city. It will cost you $3 for a Zone One ticket that you can use for two hours. The bus (no. 15) will take longer. If you need to hire a car I can recommend a car hire company that only charges $20 per day for a small car. A push bike is a good option during the warmer months. It's an easy ride into Leederville or the city along the cycle pathways along the freeway. I work from home & stay home every night as I have a young child. So I really enjoy the (adult) company of my airbnb guests. If you prefer your own space I have all the new release DVS's that you can watch in your room. Quiet neighbourhood. Very safe and secure. Walking distance to lots of cafes and restaurants. 25 minute walk to the Leederville cafe strip & 10 minute walk to the Mt Hawthorn cafés. Bottle shop, Italian, Chinese & Indian restaurant within a 3 minute walk. IGA supermarket about 5 minutes walk & Woolworths about 10 minutes away. One large bathroom, open plan kitchen / dining / lounge with large flat screen tv. There are two courtyards for you to relax in, one undercover at the rear of my home with Wicca dining table & sofa plus one at the front of my home with a wrought iron swing. You have access to the washing machine but I usually take care of the laundry in the home for my guests. Help yourself to the hair dryer, straightening irons & hot rollers in the laundry. Interaction with GuestsI'm very social & love to host dinner parties for my current & past guests. The NeighborhoodMt Hawthorn is a wealthy inner city suburb 5km north west of Perth CBD. It's a quiet neighbourhood, very safe and secure & walking distance to lots of cafes and restaurants. It's a 25 minute walk into Leederville (popular cafe strip) & a 10 minute walk to the Mt Hawthorn cafés, restaurants & shops. Bottle shop, Italian, Chinese & Indian restaurant within a 3 minute walk. IGA supermarket about 5 minutes walk & Woolworths about 10 minutes away. Getting AroundDownload the Transperth application. The Journey Planner feature is excellent for providing directions via public transport. Buy a Smart Rider card for $10 to pay for your bus & train fares. Available from most newsagencies & train stations. The Glendalough train station is 400 metres from my home and two stops in to the city. It will cost you $3 for a Zone One ticket that you can use for two hours. The better option is to use your new Smart Rider Card & tag on at the station & tag off after you have completed your journey. If you need to hire a car I can recommend a car hire company (Northside Rentals in Greenwood or Redcliffe) that charges around $20 per day for a small car. A push bike is a good option during the warmer months. It's an easy ride into Leederville or the city along the cycle pathways that run alongside the mitchell freeway. If you want to go to the beach just walk down Jugan Street to Scarborough Beach Road & jump on a bus heading west to the coast. For my fitness conscious guests you have Lake Monger not far away where you can go for a run or walk & enjoy the native birds - black swans (official emblem of Western Australia), ducks, pelicans etc. A lap around the lake is 3.8km :) Other Things to NoteA taxi from the domestic airport will cost $35 and take 15-20mins. A taxi from the international airport will cost about $50 & take 25-30 minutes. If you prefer public transport then download the Transperth application for directions to my home. Allow 90 minutes for the journey & $4.50 for your bus & train fare. Your ticket last for two hours. If you are driving a car & using a GPS please note my house is in Mt Hawthorn NOT Glendalough. The border changed years ago. I am however very close to the Glendalough Train Station. I am very flexible with check in & check out times. The latest check in time is 9pm & the earliest check in is 8am.

For country people needing to have medical tests done at St John of God hospital we are a 3 minute walk. There is a bus from Subiaco station that takes you direct to University Of WA.         Our place is 10 minutes drive from the beach and the city, easy access to public transport and a short walk to several supermarkets, pubs and restaurants, Lake Monger and Subiaco. Its a big place, high ceilings and lots of natural light! You would be able to use all of the house except for our private bedrooms, ensuite and study.

        The SpaceThe house was built in 1932 and while we have lovingly restored it with a stylish new kitchen and bathroom, it still very much preserves its Californian bungalow character. As well as the house there are many "outdoor rooms" to be enjoyed on the front verandah, back deck, in the garden and around the pool especially during the balmy Perth summer months. Guest AccessGuests will have total access to all areas of the house and garden. Please don't go in the shed where the pool equipment is located. Interaction with GuestsMy priority is to give my guests privacy to enjoy the house and garden but I am readily available if you need my help or need me to drop anything off. The NeighborhoodUp until not long ago this used to be our home and as a result we are very friendly with our neighbours on either side as well as across the road. It is a particularly welcoming neighbourhood with lots of young children. Within walking distance is the Wembley IGA supermarket, cafes, restaurants and great takeaway places like Flipside and Blue Spoon. Getting AroundOur place is 150 metres from the closest bus stop (on Grantham Street) which will take you 20 minutes to get to Perth City and 30 minutes to get to City Beach. If you take a taxi, uber or have a rental car it will only take you 10 minutes to drive to both the city and the beach. Other Things to NoteThere is space for two cars in the secure driveway and we also have two off street parking spaces on the verge if you have any visitors. There is a DVD player and plenty of DVDs to watch. There is also an Apple TV so you can access your iTunes and Netflix accounts. However, if you let me know the ages of your children and what they are interested in, I can also try to put together a box of toys especially for them.
