The SpaceA relaxed and welcoming home whose decor takes in the colours and tones of the seaside, and has plenty of space for relaxation indoors or outside. It is clean but not fussy; has character and a good feeling about it. Guest AccessGuests have the biggest bedroom (12ft x 12ft) which faces the front of the house and has plentiful hanging and storage for those who are staying a little longer. Guests will have shared use of the bathroom (newly fitted) and (separate) toilet. They may also have use of the living room which has fantastic views over the Bay and are welcome to sit out on the balcony or patio (also facing the Bay) where breakfast and drinks can be taken if the weather is good. The kitchen is also free for guest use. Guests can help themselves to an uncooked breakfast (cereals, toast etc) as well as tea and coffee whenever they choose (from a good coffee maker for those that like a caffeinated kickstart to the day). I have space on the drive for guests to park. Interaction with GuestsI am around most evenings but may be working during the day (generally about 4 days a week) but I can be contacted at any time for the assistance of guests. I am more than happy to pass on information and advice about the area and generally just chat, unless of course you prefer to have peace and (URL HIDDEN) which case that is exactly what you will have! The NeighborhoodWest Bay is associated with the TV programme Broadchurch but there is a lot more to it than that. The locality combines stunning sandstone cliffs (which glow burnt orange in the sunlight), twinkly blue (yes blue, really!) water in the Bay, pebble beaches which are perfect for beach-combing and fossil hunting, as West Bay sits on the famous Jurassic Coastline. A minute's walk from my house is the coastal path which leads either down to the harbour village (5 minutes downhill, 7/8 minutes coming back as it is steepish) where you can find pubs and cafes serving food day and night; or up towards the picturesque village of Eype (about 20 minutes) which is quiet but very charming and a bit eccentric. Either way the views are beautiful and the air refreshing. If you choose to go inland Bridport is 5 minutes by car or 25 minutes walking over the meadows. Bridport has a lot of pubs and restaurants, also an interesting cultural life with arts venues like the Electric Palace and the Arts Centre. Getting AroundBuses run from West Bay to Bridport and Weymouth. Connecting buses can be taken from Bridport to Seaton and Exeter, or to Dorchester (which connects with the South West trains network). Other Things to NoteI have 2 cats that mooch around, but in the summer tend to be mostly outdoors conducting field surveys of the local wildlife population. The road on which my house sits is quite narrow but fine for regular sized cars. Larger vehicles like camper vans etc would fit but would require some careful manoeuvring.
