The SpaceWE'VE ADDED AIR CONDITIONING!! WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR in the Summer?!! (Read on). This little charmer is surrounded by the natural beauty of the Allegheny National Forest, a stream, State Game Lands Number 86 for hunting, and within a stone's throw of the Allegheny River for all manor of fishing, swimming, kayaking, tubing. . .you name it. Even a boat launch in town behind King's Hardware at the Tidioute Park. Situated high on a grassy bluff, the home's open floor plan makes a deceivingly spacious layout for a smaller square footage. It's simple and bright with a wall of windows facing the river to take in extensive varieties of birds and all manor of wildlife in historic Tidioute. Floor to ceiling stone fireplace w/hearth, mini charcoal BBQ grill (with HOST SUPPLIED CHARCOAL & LIGHTER FLUID)! FIRE PIT in back yard with HOST SUPPLIED FIREWOOD. The nicely equipped kitchenette covers the essentials. . .stove, oven, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, coffee maker & grinder, toaster, glassware, dishware, silverware, kitchen/cooking utensils, with double sink & disposal, pots, pans, cutting boards, cheese plates and platters, mixing bowls, basic seasonings, trash bags, paper towels, basic cleaning supplies, etc. TOILETRIES supplied. And did we mention, HOST SUPPLIED FIREWOOD! Leading off of the fire pit area and down toward the stream are walking trails that can take you up the ever-widening and picturesque mountain stream into a true post card atmosphere. Just follow the direction of the old, rusty train trestle in front of the house and on down the lane. There are also plenty of nearby outdoor excursions to take in the area for hiking, sight-seeing, kayaking in warm weather, even skiing, snowboarding, and tubing (in winter). Dear longtime friends of ours who live a few houses south of us oversee it when we are not vacationing there ourselves. The NeighborhoodWhat we love about the neighborhood other than it's wonderful, genuine people and very laid-back, peaceful, even idyllic atmosphere that takes you back to a time when life was simple, and that the house is quaintly and uniquely secluded. . .situated as the last one on a tiny stretch of road surrounded by forest and water. We own the tiny cottage behind it, our deceased parent's lifelong friends own the vacation home on the water next to our property, with their friends living just downstream to the south, and another set of long time friends adjacent. So it has that comfortable, secure, family feel to it where everyone has known each other for many, many years. Getting AroundPart of the allure of this vacation spot is it's natural and remote beauty in the Allegheny National Forest. It is rich with wildlife, clean air, quiet, peaceful surroundings, and the feel of a simple life. With that there are no buses or 18 wheelers on our side of the water, and very little local traffic. You will need your own vehicle to get there and get around, which can be conveniently parked on the double graveled driveway of the home, along with several others. We also have a span of widened shoulder space on the road at the edge of the driveway for more vehicles, and a single attached garage space available. From out of town the location can be easily navigated vi(URL HIDDEN)maps. Simple directions for the last stretch off of Main Street is detailed in the HOUSE MANUAL. Other Things to NotePlease be sure to catch our SPECIAL NOTE at the bottom, but in the meantime! If relaxing on the water, with the small bordering trout stream (great for kids who like to find crawfish with a bucket!) isn't enough, for daytime excursions there are several enjoyable options. From your smartphone, see the new HOST GUIDEBOOK we've created near the bottom of our listing page! If you don't bring your own, daytime canoes and kayaks can be rented North of us off of US 62 / 6 in Warren, PA at Allegheny Outfitters. You can even paddle ashore right at your vacation spot for a mid-stream (pottie?) break and refreshment! (Most of the water you'd be in with a kayak or canoe is less than waist deep, and ankle to knee deep with a rock shore at the south end of the property). For a peaceful jaunt you can walk the old, beautifully canopied railroad trail that runs along the water for miles (just follow the old train trestle south from our home!). Or how about a real life train ride? In the nearby, quaint town of Titusville :25 minutes away, you can take a guided historic journey "In The Valley That Changed The World" on the Oil Creek & Titusville RR; complete with both closed and open cars, snacks, refreshments, and souvenirs. While in Titusville, a dining experience not to miss can be found at The Blue Canoe, which is one of our absolute favorite spots. Here you will find some of the best food in the region, with culinary treats such as Bloody Mary Mussels, the Low Cajun Country Sandwich (which doesn't say nearly enough about it's ingredients. . .lightly blackened Grouper!), The Russian Reuben (with great homemade dressing [not thousand island], and the tastiest, black Russian rye we've found anywhere; even Pizza's and Homemade Entree's that take an every day Shepherd's Pie to a whole new level. Not to mention they are a micro brewery of distinction! Great atmosphere with fast, friendly service in Downtown Titusville. Or for a great homemade breakfast, lunch, (and sometimes dinner) that's close by, try the quaint little Hummingbird Cafe right in the heart of Tidioute. (You'll pass it on your way to the home) Fresh bread baked daily, and everything made from scratch. (For the quality they really should be charging more, but don't tell them I said that!). Check out our very user friendly HOST GUIDEBOOK, complete with map pins, addresses, phone numbers, pics, descriptions, and even navigation on the go! The SpaceForest County is PA’s least populated county where camps outnumber residences. The cabin, Procrastination Station, can sleep 6 to 8 people. It has 2 bedrooms; a queen size bed in one, a queen size bunk bed in the other, a full bath with shower, and a fully equipped kitchen. The living room has a sofa with a double pull out bed. It has a flat screen TV with DVD player and a DVD Library for young and old alike, games and books. There is a modern wood stove, propane heater, and outside features are a rear deck, a graveled 16ft x 24ft picnic pavilion with picnic table, lawn chairs, gas grille, fire ring and dry firewood. All you have to do is bring your own food or choose restaurants in nearby Pleasantville and Titusville. We have 600 private acres for hiking, biking and enjoying the bear, deer, turkey’s, bobcats, small wildlife, birds, trout and bass fishing at its finest. Hunting can be arranged in season. In nearby Tionesta, Eagles nest along the Allegheny River and soar over the Wilds. You will be close to Cooks Forest State Park with its virgin timber, Tionesta Dam for swimming and boating, tubing, kayaking and canoeing on the Allegheny River, Drakes Well in Titusville - the Birth Place of the Oil Industry, Cornplanter and Oil Creek State Parks, Kinzua Dam & Recreation Area and several huge State Game Lands. We are also adjacent to the Great Lakes Region. Within a 1 ½ hour trip you can be to Lake Erie, Presque Isle, Waldameer Amusement Park, Presque Isle Downs Casino and Racetrack, Wine Country Tours, ski resorts, and more. Interaction with GuestsIf you have any questions or concerns please call us. Patty (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) or Jill (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) The NeighborhoodOur area of our cabin is very quiet and private. Everyone enjoys their privacy. The Pavilion in the back is very enjoyable. Other Things to NoteFishing There is trout fishing on East Hickory Creek, 3 miles; Pit Hole Creek, 5 miles; Tionesta Creek/reservoir, 10 miles and beyond, Toms Run, and Blue Jay Run to name a few. E. Hickory Creek, Tionesta Creek, and Blue Jay will be stocked on 5/18/15 ! There is a fishing map showing locations on the wall in the bunk bedroom. There are 2 poles for your use also in the bedroom, and a small green tackle box in the utility room. A stocking schedule is on the refrigerator and related publications on the coffee table. The Allegheny River is good for Walleye, Bass & Perch. I could probably arrange a boat and local guide for the river, or to show you a place on the bank. I can also arrange a Charter fishing trip on Lake Erie for Walley and Perch; about a 1 ½ hour trip. Swimming Tionesta Creek at the overflow park, 10 miles; Two Mile Run Park south of Titusville, the Allegheny River north of Tionesta for tubing, kayaking, canoeing. Cook Forest State Park, 25 mile, would also provide the above, along with picnicking, trails, rides and other recreation. Chapman State Park, and Kinzua Dam are in adjacent Warren Co. within 40 – 50 miles. For a day trip, there is Presque Isle State Park in Erie where you’ll think you are at the ocean!

Situated on 2.5 secluded acres on The Allegheny River and surrounded by the Allegheny National Forest, this 3000 square foot house sleeps 16+. The Wheeler-Farley House is a fully equipped, 3 level home with 5 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, patios/decks on all levels (5 total including front porch and river deck), includes a fully equipped kitchen with range, dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator and has a washer and dryer. Enjoy cookouts on the spacious patio that has an oversize stone grill and can accommodate large groups. Rent for family reunions, hunting, fishing, & golf trips, executive retreats and vacations. The 185 feet of accessible riverfront property is lined with massive, flat boulders, making the river bank a great place to sunbathe, fish or have a picnic. The Wheeler-Farley House has a large, flat front yard that can accommodate croquet, boccie ball, a volleyball or whiffle ball game. Enjoy the beauty and activities of the Allegheny National Forest, including hiking, cross country skiting, and snowmobiling/ATV'ing on over 300 miles of cleared trails. History of The Wheeler-Farley House: Be swept back in time to when ?Timber was King? when you stay at The Wheeler-Farley House? Purchased in 1929 by our great-grandparents, Joseph Allen and Rachel Wheeler Farley, The Wheeler-Farley House is located on land that was once owned by our great-great grandfather, Nelson Platt Wheeler. His company, Wheeler & Dusenbury, was a major player in the timber industry during the 1800s through the early 1900s. At one time, Wheeler & Dusenbury owned 55,000 acres in this area of Pennsylvania now known as ?The Pennsylvania Wilds?. Just about all of the land was sold or donated and is now incorporated into The Allegheny National Forest. As fate would have it, The Wheeler-Farley House came up for sale in the spring of 2006 after being out of the family since 1978. We are so excited to have it back and hope that you will enjoy the land our ancestors loved, as we do, when you stay at The Wheeler-Farley House. While there, look at pictures of days gone by, read about the logging camps of the area and the adventures on The Allegheny River, rafting the logs downstream. History of The Wheeler-Farley House: Be swept back in time to when “Timber was King” when you stay at The Wheeler-Farley House… Purchased in 1929 by our great-grandparents, Joseph Allen and Rachel Wheeler Farley, The Wheeler-Farley House is located on land that was once owned by our great-great grandfather, Nelson Platt Wheeler. His company, Wheeler & Dusenbury, was a major player in the timber industry during the 1800s through the early 1900s. At one time, Wheeler & Dusenbury owned 55,000 acres in this area of Pennsylvania now known as “The Pennsylvania Wilds”.
