The SpaceWe invite you to enjoy an authentic Oregon experience by staying in The Forest Suite of our farmhouse, located on our woodland acreage in West Linn. Our private, five-acre sustainable tree farm is in a great location, just five minutes from West Linn’s historic Willamette Area (with charming restaurants and a beautiful riverside park), 10 minutes from Bridgeport Village (featuring a mix of local, regional and national shops, a wide range of restaurants and an 18-screen cinema), and 15 minutes from downtown Portland. Our acreage is planted with mature Douglas Firs and young Christmas trees, and abuts a year-around woodland stream with old-growth Cedars. A perimeter path surrounds the woodland, along the stream, and features seating and picnic areas. A cleared meadow features a firepit, and a picnic area with a view of the adjacent equestrienne center. More improvements are underway all the time! Our farmhouse was built as a replica of the large red barn you’ll see at the base of our hill. The Forest Suite is furnished in farmhouse style. Amenities include: * Separate entrance * Adjacent parking for two cars * One bedroom with two comfortable queen beds * Private covered deck with forest views and porch swing * Dining table and chairs on deck * Television with DirectTV * Full bath with tub and shower * Mini-library with books about the Pacific NW * Boots and umbrellas to borrow for farm walks

The SpaceCentrally located in the Portland metro area, The TreeHouse is located in West Linn, a lovely, prosperous community bordering the Willamette River and Willamette Falls* (see below) features a quaint "Old Town" to walk and explore with many dining opportunities. Portland proper is just 15 minutes away and Mt. Hood skiing and the Columbia River Gorge is less than an hour, the scenic Clackamas and Willamette Rivers just minutes away and the Willamette Valley wine country a mere stone's throw. This spacious, rustic tri-level stilt dwelling climbs into the surrounding forest and features a lovely view of the wooded hillside and creek below and features loads of amenities all at your exclusive disposal. While infants and children are welcome, they do count for billing purposes as an "additional" guest. So when you list them in your reservation please also change the number of guests accordingly. So, for example, a couple with an infant, would select 3 (in the dropdown menu) for the number in their party. One of the highlights of the space is The Blue Room (aka The Kane Cave) a combination Home Theater Room / Polynesian Lounge w/ a Tiki Bar, leather sectional sofa / recliner, 70" Sony XBR HDTV and Marantz A/V Receiver with 7.1 THX Certified Surround Sound. With 7 reference quality Triad monitor & in wall surround speakers plus a 20" enclosed sub woofer, the system rivals the local Cineplex and doubles as a high end audio system as well. You can log into your Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO Go, or Spotify accounts using the PlayStation 3. You’ll find a number of Super Audio CD's (SACD’s) below the TV for your listening pleasure as well as blu ray movies and games. The system as a whole, whether it’s music or movies, is a dream come true for any video or audiophile. The Tiki Dry-Bar kitchenette (no sink, but no worries - we do the dishes for you :-) is equipped with a small fridge/freezer, ice cooler, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, dishes/glasses, silverware and food prep items (mixing/serving bowls, spatulas, etc) and a couple of growlers to fill up at the local pub. There is no oven or stove, but on the deck you'll find a Jenn Air Gas Grill BBQ/Oven w/ Sideburner & Rotisserie and built in temperature gauge if you wish to grill, barbecue, bake or boil. A continental breakfast is provided in the fridge, i.e. cereal, bagels, waffles, spreads, toast, juice, coffee/tea, etc. While central heating is provided, we also offer a natural gas, log fireplace with 65,000 Btu's at your disposal (see picture of great room). There are also extra blankets, quilts or comforters in the guest room closets as well as a space heater for use in the bedroom. In conclusion, our space is homey with character and a comfortable, lived in feel. If you are expecting a pristine, perfect, Hyatt-like experience, you would be better served finding other accommodations :-) Likewise, while events are welcome, this is NOT a party house with noise restrictions after midnight. So, if you want to "party all night", you would be better served finding a stand alone unit. *The Willamette Falls is a natural waterfall on the Willamette River between Oregon City and West Linn, Oregon, in the United States. It is the largest waterfall in the American Pacific Northwest by volume, and the seventeenth widest in the world. Horseshoe in shape, it is 1,500 feet (460 m) wide and 40 feet (12 m) high with a flow of 30,849 cu ft/s (874 m³/s). Guest AccessDescend the long side staircase into the forest below and enter the 1st floor suite-on-stilts via your own separate entrance. Inside, a locked, solid core door separates your private, self contained unit from the rest of the structure. While we reside above, we spend most of our time and sleep on the 3rd floor. Please park to the right of the driveway (as you face the house). From early September to mid June, check in (Mon - Fri) is between 5:00 - 6:00 PM, but the space is often available earlier. Let us know if you would like an early check in and we'll see what we can do to accommodate you. On weekends, holidays and school recess periods (winter and spring breaks and summer vacation) check in is between 3:00 and 6:00 PM. Please be advised that the cleaning fee of $15 is for stays of 2 nights or less. For stays of additional length, add $10/day. So a stay of 5 days, the cleaning fee would be $45. Interaction with GuestsWe provide a tour, answer questions and offer concierge services. We also enjoy playing ping pong and darts and will gladly oblige any and all comers. The NeighborhoodIn this upscale, quiet, residential neighborhood, you'll get the feeling of being "away from it all", yet only 20 minutes from downtown Portland and 3 minutes from a Walmart Neighborhood Grocery, Safeway and Starbucks. An award winning winery is less than 3 minutes away and Mary S. Young State Park no more than 5, and the lovely Tryon Creek State Park less than 15 min. Please check out our Guidebook for more tips and suggestions for nearby food and fun. Getting AroundTri Met bus is a 20 min. walk but with extreme elevation changes - not for the faint of (or a weak) heart. If you're lacking transportation, we highly recommend a rental car or Uber / Lyft. Other Things to NoteThis is the same space as The TreeHouse Too 2 BR B&B Flat, just minus one bedroom for those who have no need of an additional bedroom and who wish to save money. We do not double book them. Once The TreeHouse Bed & Breakfast Suite is booked The TreeHouse Too 2 BR B&B Flat is listed as unavailable. So, no, you won't be rooming with others :-) As you can imagine, Portland very much has a "high" and "low" season when it comes to travel and tourism. And pricing for lodging varies accordingly. So don't be surprised if the daily rate in the summer when you want to visit is 20 - 30% higher than the daily rate listed when you book in April. So please understand it is not a bait and switch. That low rate you're seeing in April would very much apply if you were booking in April, but it does not apply for July or August. One other pricing note: Children are welcome, but are considered a "person" for billing purposes (including infants and toddlers). Kitchen items—If you want to cook on the outdoor grill/oven, you will have access to pots, pans, utensils, and basic supplies like cooking oil, salt and pepper. Since the dry bar has no sink, we provide daily dish cleaning service. So, no "doing dishes" during your stay (yeh! :-) We also provide a refillable pitcher of filtered water. Towels & Linens—We provide towels and linens, so no need to bring your own. If your stay is longer than 3 days we provide a fresh set of towels and a laundry service of personal items on the 3rd day and every 3rd day thereafter. Additional launders are $5 each (unfolded). Toiletries—We provide soap/body wash, shampoo/conditioner, shaving cream and blow dryer. Heat & Air Conditioning—There is central heating set at 68 degrees mornings and evenings, but there is a 65,000 Btu gas fireplace at your disposal. A/C is also central, and is set at 73 degrees 24/7. We have 3 very friendly & lovable English Bulldogs, but they are kept on the main level unless you wish them to come and visit you. Bibi especially likes to hang out with you when you're in the hot tub :-) Effective October 1, 2015, Marijuana will be legal for personal recreational use for anyone over the age of 21 and available for purchase at local marijuana dispensaries in the State of Oregon. We believe that you have the right to exercise your rights under Oregon law, but keep in mind said law explicitly prohibits the consumption of said product, either by ingestion or inhalation, in public or within view of the public. So, while smoking is allowed on the deck, please exercise caution and good judgment. Thank you in advance for your kind cooperation in this matter.

The SpaceYour private cottage really is the best of both worlds: though you’re off the beaten path in a quiet setting under trees, you’re also close to everything. The cottage is separate from the house, with its own entrance, so come and go as you please. You have everything you need for a comfortable stay – private bathroom, cooking facilities (fridge, hotplate, microwave, coffee-tea maker, plus pots, pans and dishes, a DVD/online player that lets you access Netflix, Amazon, etc, wi-fi – plus coffee, tea, granola, oatmeal, juice. The space is very nice for two (or 2 + small child), and the Murphy bed folds up to create an open space for meetings if need be. If you find you need something more, just ask us! We have books and DVDs to lend if you like. There is free off-street parking. Your Surroundings We’re about a quarter mile off Highway 43, but that makes all the difference. It’s very quiet here, and you can take a short stroll down to the river, a lovely walk, run or cycle on Old River road along the river, or quickly get to two parks. Nearby Mary S. Young State Park is a beautiful 128 acre forested park on the Willamette River with tons of hiking/running trails. Food shopping plus a few restaurants in West Linn – including the lovely, old town Willamette area - are 15 minutes south. Lake Oswego, with more shopping and restaurants, is 10 minutes north. And downtown Portland with its many eclectic restaurants, brewpubs, shopping and entertainment is about 25 minutes away. As Private as You Like We respect your right to complete privacy and we’re very friendly – so you choose your comfortable level of interaction. We’re happy to sit with you over a glass of something and discuss the many things there are to do in the area – from hiking in the Columbia Gorge to exploring restaurants and pubs in Portland’s eclectic neighborhoods, to getting to wine countries (there are several distinct regions in Oregon). (We have an evolving guide of things to do, plus books on Portland walks, available to you.) Guest AccessIf you need to do laundry while you're here, we have facilities in the house - just ask us! Interaction with GuestsWe'll be home during your stay (unless we're out for meetings, errands, fun...) and available to answer questions, provide something you need. We also respect your privacy - so how much interaction you want is up to you. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is a lovely, woodsy setting, quiet, a short stroll to the river and nearby Mary S. Young Park, a walk or cycle to Marylhurst College or George Rogers park on Old River Road - but we're also close to Lake Oswego and Portland. Getting AroundAside from driving, it’s a short, pleasant cycle to Lake Oswego. The nearest Tri-Met (bus stop) is about a quarter mile, on Highway 43. The #35 takes you directly to the University District of Portland; from there you can get all over downtown by streetcar. For longer trips (to Mt. Hood or the Gorge, the beach, wine country…) we are close to I-205, I-5, and the Sunset Highway. Other Things to NoteWe provide a variety of organic oatmeal, fruits, granola, juice, coffee, tea and milk. Also, we provide a hair drier in case you forget yours.

The SpaceThe lower level is primarily an open space with big windows looking onto river and garden views. Comfy chairs in the livingroom provide a great place to relax and stare out onto the river, read or chat. And in the fall and winter the wood burning fireplace adds another dimension of cozy. This home is located at the end of a lane so no street traffic. Guest AccessComplimentary morning tea and coffee is available to all guests. You are welcome to use the kitchen to make your own breakfast. There is a Vitamix blender, dishes pots and pans for your use as well as a shelf in the pantry cupboard and room in the fridge for storage. Week and month long stays have lunch and dinner access to the kitchen. Interaction with GuestsHaving lived in Portland since 1976, and possessing a love of finding things off the beaten path I do have information about this vital area to share with those who are interested. Restaurant guides are on hand as well as the local weekly paper listing current music, theater, lectures and movie events. The NeighborhoodThere is an 658 acre, old growth, enchanted forest with excellent hiking trails within minutes from this location. For more information visit (URL HIDDEN) As well as Mary S. Young park, less than 15 minutes away with easy access forested paths and scenic stops along the Willamette River...for more info visit (URL HIDDEN) Spring, summer and fall there is a nearby Saturday Farmer's Market, as well as two french bakeries that offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can also raft, canoe or kayak the river in front of this Portland Hideaway, for three miles, to the mouth of the Willamette River. Please inquire for more information. Getting AroundThe closest mass transit into downtown Portland is a 10 minute drive. There is free parking at the bus stop. Freeway access to I-5 is about 12 minutes away; I-205 is 10 minutes. WholeFoods, New Seasons and Hagaan's grocery stores are a close 10 to 15 minute drive. Other Things to NoteThis home is unique in that it offers the best of two worlds, a natural retreat setting within minutes of shopping, entertainment and activities. There is easy access to the scenic Columbia Gorge for waterfall hikes; Mt.Hood skiing, hikes and vistas; and Oregon's famous wine country. And, Portland is a foodie town as well as music mecca.

The SpaceA cozy cottage, nestled at the rear of our 2-Acre property. Our family home sits approximately 150 feet away. The "big red barn" has been remodeled, with one half as the guest house (Airb&b) and the other as an editing studio / office. There is a locking door between the two spaces so you will have complete privacy. Office & studio are not currently in use. The cottage is one room, approximately 600 square feet. There is one queen bed and a double sofa bed. A small bathroom with a shower and a small kitchenette (frig, hot plate & microwave, no oven). A fairly good-sized TV, closets & drawers. Our family of three lived here for several months while our home was being remodeled. We found it very comfy! Guest AccessPrivate Hot tub, patio & fire pit. Shared yard, pond, fruit orchard, lawn furniture and hammock (in dry months.) Interaction with GuestsWe are happy to make ourselves available to help you with whatever you may need. Our policy is to be available to you but give you all the space and privacy you'll want. The NeighborhoodOur home, property and guest house sit on a private, country lane with four other homes, all with acreage. We are connected to a walking path that stretches for miles in both directions. In one direction you can walk to shopping and Starbucks, in the other, a heritage farm with community plots. Our Lane is set among rolling hills of protected farmland, but we back up to the urban growth boundary, so we are close to civilization and the freeways, There is AppleTV which includes Showtime, Netflix, ESPN, NFL, PBS, PBS Kids, Disney and Disney XD, Nat Geo, Fox, CBS, NBC, ABC and several news channels. Most have On Demand programming. Bose sound system. Getting AroundClose to Highway exits off the 5 and 205. Twenty minute drive to airport and downtown Portland. We have great walking paths steps away from our Lane. About a ten minute walk to Starbucks and shopping. The closest bus stop is a ten to fifteen minute walk down a fairly steep hill. It's only recommended for the extremely athletic, as you will have to walk up that very steep hill on your way home. Other Things to NoteOur neighbor, who lives across the street and down the lane is doing a complete remodel of their home. It is a bit of an eyesore right now with Tyvek wrapped around the outside. It's unfortunate, because it's one of the first things you see as you turn down the lane. It's not noisy at all, as the owners are committed to doing the work by themselves and sustainably, but it is just unattractive. I mention this as an fyi - so that you don't get turned-off as you arrive.

The SpaceThe space has a lower bed/couch/trundle, storage, and upper loft. There is a kitchenette, wifi & a monitor for movies. There is also a full bathroom with a shower. Laundry on site. Guest AccessThe tiny home is in my yard on the half acre. There is parking both on and off street. It is secluded but yet close to downtown pdx. You can easily use the Max line, the bus or even bike the 11 miles to the heart of things but sleep in peace in the back garden yard. Interaction with GuestsI work long hours but I am always available by phone for any questions or needs:) The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood itself is has nothing to walk to except to the Willamette River. However, the yard is spacious and it is very close to Oregon City and Downtown PDX. Getting AroundThe Max and the bus lines are very close. The SpaceEnjoy the best that this river-front home and surrounding area have to offer, including relaxing, hiking, wine tasting, and water recreation. River views are abundant in this home–living room, kitchen, dining, master bedroom. Fully stocked chef's kitchen with professional Wolf range makes cooking (with a river view) a lot of fun. Revel in the sweeping river views from the comfort of the house, explore local parks, visit one of the handful of nearby wineries, and discover the gems of Portland. During the winter/spring, the house is a great jumping off point for winter sports and recreation at Mt. Hood. Both Mt. Hood Meadows and Mt. Hood Skibowl are less than a 90min drive from the house. During spring/summer/fall, take advantage of the Willamette River–swim in the pool-like center of Cedar Island Park, take the kayaks and inflatable tubes out for a ride to explore the main channel of the river, or relax on the private dock. The slough immediately in front of the house & in the center of Cedar Island is safe for children to swim. Bedrooms 1 & 2 (including queen sofa bed) all have memory foam mattresses. Memory foam pillows are on all beds. There's also a Queen Aerobed (with linens) if you need an extra. While you're visiting, I'll be in California (same local time zone), and I'll be available via phone and text. Bask in the canopy of a temperate rain forest & nod off to a soothing stream. This 1,100 suite-on-stilts is surrounded by green space and is loaded with amenities: spa, deck, BBQ, putting green, pool & ping pong table, home theater & Tiki Bar. We are fairly new to VRBO so have limited reviews Centrally located in the greater Portland area with Portland proper only 15 minutes away, Mt. Hood skiing just an hours drive, the scenic Clackamas and Willamette Rivers only minutes away and the Willamette Valley wine country a mere stone's throw, this spacious, rustic tri-level house-on-stilts climbs into the surrounding forest and features a lovely view of the wooded hillside and creek below. The 1st Floor suite features your own separate private entrance, luxurious bathroom with oversize shower and dual shower heads, a great room with gas fireplace, pool & ping pong table and English bristle dart board! The Guest Room opens to a spacious deck, LA Spas Oasis hot tub, BBQ and turf putting / chipping green, all at your exclusive disposal. With 7 reference quality Triad monitor & in wall surround speakers plus a 20" enclosed sub woofer, the system rivals the local Cineplex and doubles as a high end audio system as well. You can log into your Netflix, Amazon Prime or Spotify account using the PlayStation 3. You’ll find a number of Super Audio CD's (SACD’s) below the TV for your listening pleasure as well as blu ray movies and games. The system as a whole, whether it’s music or movies, is a dream come true for any video or audiophile. The Tiki Dry-Bar (no sink) features a kitchenette equipped with a small fridge, ice cooler, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, dishes/glasses, silverware and food prep items (mixing/serving bowls, spatulas, etc) and a couple of growlers to fill up at the local pub. There is no oven or stove, but on the deck you'll find a Jenn Air Gas Grill BBQ/Oven w/ Sideburner & Rotisserie and built in temperature gauge if you wish to grill, barbecue, bake or boil. A continental breakfast is provided in the fridge, i.e. cereal, bagels, spreads, toast, juice, coffee/tea, etc. Weekend pricing includes bacon and eggs served in the comfort of your suite. During the winter you'll keep oh-so-warm courtesy of the natural gas log fireplace with 65,000 Btu's at your disposal (see picture of great room). There are also extra blankets, quilts or comforters in the guest room closets as well as a space heater for use in the bedroom. In conclusion, our space is homey with character and a comfortable, lived in feel. If you are expecting a pristine, perfect, "hotel-like" experience, you would be better served finding other accommodations :-) Guest Access: You have exclusive use of the entire 1st floor suite, spa, deck and backyard along with your own private entrance. A solid core door separates your suite from the rest of the structure where we, the owners, reside. We retire to the 3rd floor early in the evening and leave for work very early the next morning, so its unlikely either of us will disturb the other. Interaction with Guests: We provide a tour, answer questions and offer concierge services. We also enjoy playing ping pong and darts and will gladly oblige any and all comers. Other Things of Note: This is the same space as The TreeHouse Too 2 BR B&B Flat, just minus one bedroom for those who have no need of an additional bedroom and who wish to save money. We do not double book them. Once The TreeHouse Bed & Breakfast Suite is booked The TreeHouse Too 2 BR B&B Flat is listed as unavailable. So, no, you won't be rooming with others :-) Children are welcome, but are considered a "person" for billing purposes (including infants and toddlers). We have 3 very friendly & lovable English Bulldogs, but they are kept on the main level unless you wish them to come and visit you. Bibi especially likes to hang out with you when you're in the hot tub :-) Kitchen items—If you want to cook on the outdoor grill/oven, you will have access to pots, pans, utensils, and basic supplies like cooking oil, salt and pepper. Since the dry bar has no sink, we provide daily dish cleaning service. So, no "doing dishes" during your stay (yeh! :-) We also provide a refillable pitcher of filtered water. Towels & Linens—We provide towels and linens, so no need to bring your own. Toiletries—We provide soap/body wash, shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste and blow dryer. Heat & Air Conditioning—There is central heating set at 68 degrees mornings and evenings, but there is a 65,000 Btu gas fireplace at your disposal. A/C is also central, and is set at 73 degrees 24/7. Effective October 1, 2015, Marijuana will be legal for personal recreational use for anyone over the age of 21 and available for purchase at local marijuana dispensaries in the State of Oregon. House Rules: A current picture showing the account holder's face. If not be prepared to present a valid picture ID upon arrival. If you're doing a self check, you will need to email a copy of your driver's license in advance. Adults 21 and over please! Upon arrival, read the House Manual placard thoroughly and give us a shout if you have any questions or concerns. Alert us to any problem or issue immediately (i.e. quality/functionality of the unit or amenities). Children under 13 are NOT be left unattended without consent of the owners, and are NOT to use the hot tub without adult supervision. DO NOT attempt to operate the microwave, along with the toaster and/or coffee maker at the same time nor plug any device into any of the outlets in the theater room or you may trip the circuit breaker which is inaccessible to you. Alert us immediately. If we are here we will reset it for you. If not, Sorry :-( So be careful! If you need an outlet to plug anything into in the Theater Room, use the Monster Power Filter / Surge Protector next to the TV. It is on a separate dedicated 20 amp circuit. Please put your used dishes on the removable tray on the stair landing behind the curtain We will check once or twice a day (hence the privacy curtain) and clean and/or replace. So no doing dishes for you while on vacation - yay :-) Also, please let us know if you are running low on any item provided either via messaging us or by simply leaving the item on the aforementioned tray. For example, an empty milk carton means we need to get you more milk. If you use the pull out futon sofa bed to sleep, please use the bedding materials that are in the bedroom closet. The plastic storage bag includes a mattress cover, sheets and a down comforter. There are also two extra pillows on the closet shelf. We recycle so please put all glass and plastics in the gray bin outside the entrance to the unit. We will take it from there. :-) Besides common consideration, the only other thing we ask is no pool or ping pong after 10:00 on weeknights (Sun - Thu.) and 11:00 on weekends (Fri. - Sat). There is no time limit for spa/hot tub or hanging out on the deck use for a party of one. For a couple it would be midnight, 3 or more 11:00PM. That having been said, if there is no boisterous activity (loud talking, laughing or music playing), we and/or the neighbors are going to be none the wiser (wink, wink ;-) Finally, we will at times need to pass through the listing to access the back yard/deck/spa for maintenance purposes, i.e. check bromine/pH levels, water the garden, refresh the fridge etc. We will only do so while you are away if possible. Let us know if that is going to be an issue for you. The Neighborhood: You'll get the feel of being "away from it all", yet only 20 minutes from downtown Portland and 3 minutes from a Walmart Neighborhood Grocery, Safeway and Starbucks. An award winning winery is less than 3 minutes away and Mary S. Young State Park no more than 5, and the lovely Tryon Creek State Park less than 15 min. Please check out our Guidebook for more tips and suggestions for nearby food and fun. Getting Around: Tri Met bus is a 20 min. walk but with extreme elevation changes - not for the faint of (or a weak) heart. If you're lacking transportation, we highly recommend a rental car or Uber.

We will take it from there. :-) Besides common consideration, the only other thing we ask is no pool or ping pong after 10:00 on weeknights (Sun - Thu.) and 11:00 on weekends (Fri. - Sat) and NO PARTYING PAST MIDNIGHT period since strict noise restrictions are in place from 12:00 AM to 6:00AM There is no time limit for spa/hot tub or hanging out on the deck use for a party of one.
