The SpaceBeautiful views of Reichard's Lake are available from the dock, front porch, yard and living areas within the house. There is a full bath and an open living room/ dining room/ kitchen with wood stove insert in a brick fireplace on the first floor, along with an additional living room, and an office with a pullout futon overlooking the lake. The second floor has four bedrooms, two of which overlook the lake. There is also a large TV room/ playroom with a sectional couch that pulls out to make a queen size bed and a large selection of children's games and toys to enjoy, along with a half bath. Upstairs can sleep 11 with pullout and downstairs can accommodate 2 people on the futon in the office. The yard has a perennial garden with Adirondack chairs and chaise lounge, flagstone patio, picnic table and bar- b- que area with lake views. There is a tree house in the woods behind the house and a ping pong table in the basement for additional fun. The house can easily accommodate young children and includes a high chair, toddler bed, porta crib and two booster seats for the table. Guest AccessGuests will have access to swimming and boating (use of canoe and kayak included) from the private dock on Reichard's Lake in summer and ice fishing and skating in the winter. Lakefront is across quiet Algonquin Road from house and is enclosed and fenced for privacy and safety. Downhill skiing at Jiminy Peak is one half hour from house as is the Clark Art Institute, MASS MOCA and other Berkshire cultural attractions. Interaction with GuestsWe will not be onsite, but we or our representative will be available to address any questions regarding the property. The NeighborhoodLiving on a lake and enjoying sunrises from the porch or dock overlooking the water is a treat. The village of West Sand Lake is less than a mile from the house and has a grocery store, drugstore, post office and other services. Numerous restaurants are nearby. This home has a rural feel, but is only fifteen minutes to the state capital of Albany or the charming nineteenth century city of Troy. Saratoga, the Berkshires, Cooperstown and Hudson are all within an hour's drive. Crooked Lake House, a local venue, hosts numerous weddings and special events and is ten minutes from the house. Getting AroundThere is no public transportation in town, but taxi service is available to and from the Amtrak station that is fifteen minutes from the house.
