The bedroom is separate and adjacent to the main room. The laundry room is conveniently located down the hall by the rear entrance / mud room which takes you to the back yard. The lower level bathroom is brand new, complete with modern furnishings (heated floor, lighting and ventilation) combined with era specific design - no details spared. The back yard is suitable for outdoor use. The area rests nicely under a 100ft. cedar tree, available to build a camp fire and picnic etc... The accommodations are ideal for the adventurer traveler and longer term Guest AccessA spare key to private entrance will be provided to use lower level entrance. Interaction with GuestsWhile I am living here too, I do understand you are not here to visit with me. I will respect your space, but more than happy to help fine tune your plans or give tips for getting to know the area. I am an experienced traveler and passionate about the Pacific North West. The NeighborhoodI love West Seattle. I call it the "Mayberry" of Seattle - but it is not boring. If you are an active type and enjoy cycling, kayaking, volleyball, rollerblading, fires on the beach or walking the shoreline and a spectacular view of the city across Elliot Bay - then West Seattle is absolutely the place to be. The neighborhood is peaceful and quite and the street is usually occupied by my neighbors kids. West Seattle harbors many multi-generational families for a reason. Getting AroundWalking : 10 min to the village (AKA - the Junction) where shops, restaurants and services are, 5 min to nearest bier stube (German pub) and a full service restaurant, 10 min to grocery (Metropolitan Market, PCC, Trader Joes, QFC & Safeway) and 10 min to LA Fitness and high school sports field. Bus : the bus stop is 4 blocks down the street which will get you to the Junction in 5 min or downtown Seattle in 15 min. I have all the maps here if you need. Driving : the bridge is a quick drive down the hill with direct access to I-5 and downtown. Water taxi : 5 min drive or a pleasant 20 min walk to the dock. The water taxi is a direct shot 15 min cruise to downtown - great for activities along the pier, stadiums, Pioneer Square etc... and also good for getting to the Washington State ferry (for service to Bremerton & Bainbridge). Vashon Ferry : 10 min drive to the dock. Bremerton & Bainbridge Ferry : 15 min drive or take water taxi Other Things to NoteThere is plenty of secure storage for luggage and small equipment. The garage is also available to store a bicycle, sufficient secure outdoor parking for a motorcycle and other outdoor equipment.

About the building: 3445 Studios is a mixed-use building with 4 dwelling units and 2 storefront retail spaces located on California Avenue SW (West Seattle's Main Street), midway between the Admiral shopping district and the Alaska Junction and uphill from Alki Beach. Downtown Seattle is a 10-minute drive away by car over the West Seattle bridge. The bus to downtown stops a few doors away (20 min ride). The Water Taxi is also a nice option for getting downtown; it's cheap and super fun. Here in the 'hood there are many great restaurants, bars, shopping and recreation opportunities within walking distance. Guest AccessFull kitchen access, and laundry if you need it. Interaction with GuestsI am pretty quiet but I don't mind engaging in conversation when the opportunity presents itself. I do work at home but my office is separate from the rest of the apartment. The SpaceComfy, cozy little mid-century modern rambler on a quiet street...you'll feel (EMAIL HIDDEN)fortably fits up to four in two bedrooms. Guest AccessGuests have access to the whole house, including well-equipped kitchen with gas range. Help yourself to basics (olive oil, butter, salt/pepper, coffee). Fresh, clean towels will be provided as well. Guests also may use the carport out back during their stay. Interaction with GuestsIf we can't meet you upon check-in, we'll make sure instructions are clear and easy for access. The NeighborhoodWest Seattle is just far enough from the city that you'll be able to relax, but close enough to hop on a bus and get downtown in under 30 minutes. Surrounded by water, West Seattle has great views, parks and restaurants galore! Getting AroundTo get downtown, catch the Rapid Ride bus ("C" line) from the intersection of California and Alaska (less than 10 minute walk up the hill). It comes every 10-15 minutes during the better part of the day. Download the "One bus away" app to see when the next bus is coming near you. Other Things to NoteThis is a small house, so you won't get much privacy if you're traveling with friends. Noises tend to carry due to the age of the house and tight quarters, but the living spaces and neighborhood more than make up for the size, and close proximity builds friendships! :)

The Space2BR, 1.5 BA townhome that offers a private retreat while still being close to everything that makes West Seattle great! The master bedroom has a queen bed with new memory-foam mattress, ample closet space and your own TV with AppleTV and a DVD player. The second bedroom has a twin daybed that pulls out into a queen as well, so very reasonably sleeps four! Guests can make themselves at home in the fully stocked kitchen, and relax in the private fenced back patio next to the fire pit. A small collection of books and DVDs are also provided for those nights when you aren't busy with the many festivals, markets, museums and attractions that Seattle has to offer! Dog friendly! Up to two furry friends are welcome to join you with no extra fees! One medium crate is provided. For those without dogs or with allergy concerns, the home is professionally cleaned between each guest to give everyone the best experience possible. Guest AccessWithin the house, guests should make themselves at home. What's mine is yours! There is also one off-street parking spot in the alley. I park my Honda CR-V there, but larger vehicles would do well with the ample free street parking in front of the house. You are in the heart of the neighborhood, one block off the main street! Walkable to shops, restaurants, grocery stores and the bus/ferry systems, you can truly forget about the car during your stay. Also have one bike available on the patio, which you can borrow to make getting around even easier. Interaction with GuestsIn the winter months, I will be out of state skiing in lovely Bozeman, MT, so interaction will be limited to email and phone. However, I am very quick to respond to both! I also have friends/neighbors willing to help out with any immediate needs, and I'll even drive over myself if I have to for emergencies. Guest will have directions and key available and everything they need to start their visit off on the right foot. In the summer, I live just over in Capitol Hill if you need anything. The house has an electronic coded lock (changed regularly for security) for convenient 24-hour entry, but I am also happy to meet you with a key and get you oriented for your stay in West Seattle if you'd like. The NeighborhoodWest Seattle is quieter and offers a more relaxed pace than downtown, without sacrificing any of the amenities. I love how walkable everything is. I often find myself leaving the car parked for a week or more at a time. We also get (in my opinion at least) better views of the Olympics, the Cascades, sunsets, and downtown itself! Whether you prefer antique/thrift shopping, farmers markets, strolling/biking/paddling along the waterfront, or enjoying a sunset cocktail at Cactus or one of the other Alki hot spots, West Seattle is for you! Getting AroundWalk or bike everywhere you need to go! Also convenient to I-5 and I-90 if you have a car and want to explore the other unique neighborhoods of Seattle. The C-line has a stop a few blocks away that takes you right to Pike's Place and other downtown attractions. You can also take a different bus to the water taxi for a unique way of getting downtown--great for night-time skyline views! Other Things to NoteThe pricing for all lengths of stay include all utilities. Long-term stays are welcome! As are weekenders and everything in between =) Check-in and check-out are usually flexible to meet your needs. If there is another booking immediately before or after your stay, I do request a 10:00am check-out and 2:00pm check-in so there is time to clean and get the house ready to give you both the best experience possible.

We enjoy the walk to the bus from our home, but others prefer to find free street parking near the bus stop due to hills. For a special treat, consider riding the Seattle Water Taxi with a simple roundtrip ride from Alki to the Downtown pier district near the Aquarium and more. If you're in the mood for a day trip we recommend the Fauntleroy Ferry, the dock is minutes from our house by car (near Lincoln Park) and takes you on a lovely ride to Vashon Island where you can explore the shores, artisans and eateries.
