The SpaceThis is my home--a turn of the century mill house I restored and renovated a few years ago. The neighborhood is safe and convenient to town, and the best beaches in the world are 15 minutes away. The town of Westerly recently won the "Best Town In Rhode Island": award, and is literally around the corner from my home. The house fits 6 people like so: 2 in kingsize bed/master suite; 1 (or 2) on full mattress upstairs in a separate bedroom, 2 in twin beds downstairs, 1 in a smaller guest bedroom. Extra blow up mattress available. Ceiling fans , new windows, comfortable seating. Gas fireplace heats large living space downstairs. Cute garden outside to relax in or barbecue. You can see the river from the upstairs master bedroom with skylight. Plenty of room, plenty of privacy. The door in the "pink" twin bedroom is locked and leads to another part of the house. Some have noted that the house is on a well-traveled street, with a neighborhood bar-restaurant a few doors down, which on occasion can be noisy. This is a plus for some people, since great bars and restaurants are walking distance. Neighbors look out for one another here, but of course, lock your car and the house doors. Also, the Amtrack train runs just across the street on a raised track- not often, but enough to register for some guests. One more thing in the spirit of full disclosure: there are hourly church bells. Some guests notice it, others don't; ear plugs provided to every guest ;)

So proud of where I live! Guest AccessWhen guests are staying, my 22 year old daughter Emma and I move out, so you have the whole house. She or I may be staying in the adjoining, locked studio. You will have the main house to yourselves. The main house used to be 2-family, renovated to one (not a duplex), and there is plenty of room and privacy-door and stairway between downstairs and upstairs, which is a large space w kingsize canopied bed and 5' double shower in the bathroom. There is a full sized bed in the adjoining upstairs bedroom on the floor. Downstairs bathroom has shower and bathtub. Downstairs guest bedrooms: the pink room has 2 twin beds. The middle bedroom has one single bed. Towels and sheets are included, full kitchen with all utensils, state of the art refrigerator/ freezer, dish washer, washer and dryer. 47"Smart TV; Wi-Fi; Private grape arbor and al fresco dining, lawn chairs, fire pit and grill. If you bring a dog, (the house is pet-friendly for well-trained dogs) there is a totally fenced in safe area in the back where you are welcome to keep him or her. Interaction with GuestsI would love to greet you when you arrive if I am not traveling myself; I am available by phone to call, text, and email. I have a dear friend/ neighbor who can be available on site if I am away; she also greets if guests desire an in person welcome and I am not available. But most folks enjoy the privacy, so keys will be made available to you- just let me know your ETA. The NeighborhoodA safe, friendly commercial and residential neighborhood with shops and restaurants (Amigoes Mexican Restsurant is a Mecca! As is Longos Pizza, 84 High St. and Mia's for brunch or The Bridge) a few minute's walk down Mechanic St towards Westerly. You are right around the corner from Donahue Park, which overlooks the river, and another few minutes walk to the fabulous Wilcox Park and Westerly Library, both 19th century architectural wonders; music venues The Kinickerbocker and Perks n Corks...cool bars and a variety of restaurants and shops in Westerly. (People have said Westerly is like Bedford Falls, but for real, if you get the reference!) 5 minutes to Rt 1 and the best beaches in New England. Wonderful Watch Hill minutes away by car. Farmers markets nearby; vineyards in Stonington 10 minutes away. Providence 45 minutes north; Narragansett half hour. Area is chock full of fitness/yoga studios, some walking distance-in town. Because the town is so close by , the place becomes a wonderful retreat and escape--privacy and solitude if you like, or just a walk down the block to sit at neighborhood pubs (CC OBrian's, Perks & Corks, Twisted Vine, etc ) I did have one guest out of 20 mention that the church bells and train sounds were a bit bothersome, but at least one other thought they were charming additions and he never needed to check his watch!
