Guest AccessGuests have exclusive use of Cottage (though owner may have to maintain wood stove). Guests have shared use of outdoor sauna and rec. room in owner's house next door. Long term guests can have use of own garden plot. Interaction with GuestsOwners give guests their space as much as possible, but are always around to answer questions, etc. We try to welcome guests on arrival and thank them when they leave. In season, owner may have to maintain wood stove properly. The NeighborhoodWe love our privacy, being the only residence on a 1.5 mile, dead end, private road. We like being surrounded by woods and brooks. Neighbors include many interesting people. One family runs an organic strawberry farm, another makes excellent, organic yogurt, etc. and another makes organic goat cheese. A monastery of about 15 Benedictine nuns chant Gregorian Chant in Latin and we often attend Mass there. Everyone here is friendly, helpful and down-to earth. If you get stuck in the snow, farmers will happily pull you out and likely be insulted if you offer them money. Getting AroundThere is no public transportation around here; you need your own car. But the Westfield General Store is only a half mile away.
The nearest airport is in Burlington, VT. If you fly in, you can rent a car at the airport. We are about 100 minutes from there.
