Guest AccessWe have two cottages for rent and they both have a private entrance, living/dining area, kitchen, 3 bedrooms, complimentary WiFi, satellite TV, DVD player, local glass bottle milk, premium OJ, our own farm fresh eggs, organic coffee and tea is stocked in the cottage when you arrive scrumptious homemade baked goods and locally made organic artisan breads are brought to your doorstep each morning. If you wish smaller accommodations with more pampering check out any of our three Inn rooms which, located in an graciously restored 1774 Colonial home, are more elegant and include our renown 3 course farm-to-table candlelight breakfast each morning using as much as we can that we grown here on the farm. Our Sunnyside Farmhouse is a larger accommodation than the cottages, can sleep up to 8 guests and includes additional amenities such as a dishwasher, washer/dryer, farmer's porch with rocking chairs, stone fire pit and horse shoe pits. We have a game room in the Inn filled with perennial favorites you are welcome to borrow as well as a slew of local maps, guide books and gazetteers for exploring back roads and hidden gems. There are lots of suggestions of things to do during your stay in our welcome book which is located in each accommodation on arrival, but we are more than happy to help you plan your stay if you wish. You may explore our 105 acre farm to visit our 100% grass-fed beef herd, pasture-raised heritage pigs, chickens, turkeys, livestock guardian dogs and cashmere goats. Follow along to do chores each morning, collect farm fresh eggs each afternoon, pick fresh produce and small fruits from our extensive organically managed gardens in season (with permission) to make yourself a truly farm-to-table local meal. Our own pasture-raised meats such as bacon, sausage, steaks, pork chops, chicken, turkey, eggs, maple syrup and homemade jams are available for purchase from our farm store on site. Hike our woodland walking trail through 60 beautiful acres of our property. Missing Fido? Our super well-behaved Golden doodle Lulu LOVES to go on hikes and will happily escort you on your hike if you ask. Interaction with GuestsThe innkeeper lives on site in separate accommodations with her family, enjoys interacting with guests and is available for planning activities for the day, making reservations at local restaurants and leading farm and garden tours, but is also respectful of your space and privacy. We're conveniently located in the southwest corner of New Hampshire providing easy access to explore southern NH, VT and MA. Visiting in the winter? Corridor 5, a main snowmobile trail that runs from the MA border to Canada goes through our woodlands and there is easy access to the trails right from our accommodations without going on or crossing any roads. Local trails lead to the pizza restaurant, gas station and other necessities for a fun day out in the snow. There is no one in the area that rents snowmobiles, but you are welcome to bring your own as we have plenty of secure parking for your truck and trailer. Getting AroundThis is a rural area so a car is a must. If your party is traveling in multiple vehicles, there is plenty of off-street parking available. Parking for snowmobile/motorcycle trailers is available as well as covered parking for motorcycles and bicycles. The SpaceA beautiful combination of antiques in this room including a dark blue Chinese floral rug, an antique hand-woven coverlet and period furniture make this room a favorite. A very comfortable and quiet room decorated in warm gold tones and blue making you feel instantly at ease. There is a queen-sized four-poster bed and an adjoining bathroom with a shower stall. This is a perfect room for a romantic stay for two, but also lends itself perfectly to the single traveler. Views from this room overlook the flagstone patio and extensive perennial gardens. Guest AccessMany common rooms are available in the 1774 Colonial home, including a living room, dinning room, library, and four-season sun room. Guests are served with a full three-course farm-to-table breakfast. The inn sits on a 105 acre sustainable farm, with farm tours available. There are extensive hiking trails. Visit nearby farms also. The SpaceLovely, clean home of cheesemakers. If you love cheese this is the place for you! Two bedrooms are available, one has a queen size bed and the other has a trundle bed. There is a shared bath for the two rooms. You are invited to make yourself at home and use the kitchen and the rest of the cozy home we built in 2003. We have a cheese aging room in our home and make the cheese at a small farm 12 miles from our home. We are located in the countryside 4 miles from our historic village of Walpole, NH which has a great chocolate shop and fabulous restaurants, vineyard and winery, artist co-op, summertime flea market, a creamery with the best homemade ice cream and a couple of cheese makers (and we are one of those cheese makers). Ski areas are a 45 minute drive. Boston is a 2 hour drive and NYC is a 4 hour drive. We request a 2 night stay during fall foliage in October. Guest AccessYou are welcome to prepare a meal in the kitchen and make yourself comfortable in our home. The NeighborhoodOur home is in a quiet rural setting. In the spring you are lulled to sleep by the spring peepers (small frogs that make a big sound) and the summer has the frog songs, all from our nearby pond and wetlands. Bird songs are enjoyed during the day. Getting AroundThis is a rural country setting with no public transportation. Other Things to NoteDuring the month of October we request a 2 night minimum.

The SpaceThe apartment has its own entrance and is situated in the midst of over 500 acres of a former dairy farm about 5 miles north of Putney downtown. As a visitor here you are just a few minutes walk to the Connecticut River well loved for fishing, swimming, canoeing and kayaking. Several waterfall lined trails are just over a mile away. Many trails and open fields are situated outside your door for hiking. The space itself is new construction with thermostat controlled heat, a galley kitchen, and one bedroom with a comfy new queen bed that overlooks a small fish pond. Double size fold out couch is to the side of the eat in kitchen. Wireless internet is provided. Kitchen is stocked with all basic cooking supplies including coffee maker. Bathroom is roomy with a claw foot tub. Guest AccessFor an additional $20 guests may use the wood-fired sauna to relax after a day outdoors. Looking for a more casual atmosphere? The East Wing of the Caleb Foster Farm House (1860) just might be your style. The first floor features rooms that openly flow into one another, including a full kitchen with a dining table and a spacious, sunny living room that’s equipped with a full entertainment center and a gas stove fireplace. The downstairs also has a half-bath where you’ll find a washer and dryer. Accommodating up to eight people, the second floor of Foster East features one large bedroom with a king bed and two smaller bedrooms. One of the smaller rooms has one queen bed and the other has two twins and a bunk bed. Each room has a fabulous view of the farm and orchards and air conditioning in the summer months. There is a full bath upstairs and downstairs. The East Wing allows up to 2 small, well-behaved dogs.       The SpaceFrom the studio you can look out across our fields, gardens, and woods. We're on a wetland, and we often see aquatic and other birds, deer, fox, and once in a great while a black bear. The room is very airy and light, warm in winter, and cool in summer. The building is 4 years old. Guest AccessThere is an outdoor shower (!), very clean, hot & cold water, with a privacy screen. But if you're shy, or too cold to shower out of doors, you may use the shower in the main house. The building is wheelchair accessible - ramps, large bathroom with grab bars - but not ADA-compliant. You are free to wander the property (17 acres of fields and woods.) Interaction with GuestsI am generally around to help with any of your needs, but I won't be pestering you. The NeighborhoodThere are miles of country roads and woods trails right out the door. A short walk out the back takes you to the Vermont Shepherd cheese farm, where you can watch the sheep, and buy their cheese. Several swimming holes are within a short walk. There are more serious hiking trails a few miles away (Putney Mt., Pinnacle Mt.), as well as miles of groomed x-country ski trails (Westminster West, Putney School, Vermont Academy.) Bicycles and skis may be rented at the West Hill Bike Shop, in Putney. The Connecticut River is accessible in Putney if you have a boat. Kayaks and canoes can be rented in Brattleboro. In early Spring, there are many local sugar houses making maple syrup, that you can taste and buy. Depending on the season you have the choice of several music programs nearby (Yellow Barn, Marlboro Music Festival, Vermont Jazz Center). Putney School, Greenwood School, Vermont Academy, and Landmark College are all within 8 miles. There is no public transportation. Alas. Other Things to NoteThe vegetable garden is there for the picking, when it's in season. Or weeding, if that's of interest. There's a pile of fire wood that some people might enjoy splitting.       The SpaceOur recently renovated Vermont cottage is a perfect weekend getaway. Upstairs in the sleeping loft, you’ll find a quiet retreat with queen sized bed surrounded by bookshelves, and the nook with an extra long twin bed. On the main level, there is a fully-equipped kitchen, dishwasher, countertop bar with stools, table, and bathroom with funky copper tub and shower. Four steps down brings you to the sitting room where we recommend the comfy sofa as a great reading or lounging spot with full southern exposure. The south facing bay window and cushion seat doubles an additional single bed. Bay window has views out to the pond and woodlands. Guest AccessThe cottage sits on the same property as the main house, but is a separate structure and is completely private. We have 2 acres with a small pond, brook, woods, a short trail, and with gorgeous Vermont walking and hiking trails nearby. In winter, bring your cross country skis; we have incredible groomed trails one mile from our house in the village center. We are 25 minutes to Grafton Ponds nordic ski and snowshoe area as well. While the surroundings are rural, we live on a paved road, accessible in all seasons and just a short drive into Putney. We are happy to share with you recommendations for local restaurants or you can cook in the cottage kitchen with full fridge, oven, and gas cooktop. Within one mile of our house is an organic dairy farm, an organic produce farmstand, and an artisanal, family-run sheep farm which produces renowned sheep cheeses. Nearby Putney, Brattleboro, and Walpole all have thriving weekend farmer’s markets during the summer season. The NeighborhoodWe live in a gorgeous, rural setting yet very close to the rich outdoor and arts scenes that Putney, Westminster West, and Brattleboro offer. We are on a paved road (no problems in winter or mud season!). The cottage is located just 5 miles to downtown Putney where you’ll find the Putney Food Co-op, The General Store, the West Hill Bike Shop (mountain bike and x-country ski/snowshoe rentals). Check out our local orchard, Green Mountain Orchards, where you can pick-your-own blueberries, raspberries, plums, pears, peaches, and apples. They also sell delicious homemade pies and cider donuts. For outdoor enthusiasts, we are close to ski mountains- under an hour to Mt. Snow, Stratton, Magic Mountain, Bromley, and Okemo. Wake up early and be the first on the slopes! We live on a paved road (no dirt or mud to navigate!). We are 9 miles to the quintessential village of Saxton’s River, 10 miles to Walpole, New Hampshire, 15 miles to Brattleboro, and 13 miles to Grafton. Under 10 minutes to The Putney School, Greenwood School, Landmark College, and Vermont Academy. Getting AroundThere is no public transportation here, but lots of great biking, hiking, running, & skiing!
