The SpaceThis heritage home, making up one from a row of five, is a much-loved and admired landmark in Montreal. Built in 1895, it is a small house with two levels and thick walls and exposed brick. The house sleeps 1-7 people comfortably. There are 4 available bedrooms upstairs so it is ideal for families, groups or couples who are interested in a space to share. Guest AccessThe basement will be locked, so access to the main fuse box and washer/dryer will be subject to request and necessity only. Interaction with GuestsWe will usually meet at the beginning and end of the stay. Otherwise you will be left to your own devices. We trust our guests to behave with good judgment; and, just in case, we will always be reachable by phone. The NeighborhoodThe location is spectacular any season of the year. The house is in the heart of Victoria Village - a quiet, but vibrant corner of Westmount. Sherbrooke St (just a block away) is lined with restaurants, shopping boutiques, and various food shops. Even closer, just across the street from us is a wonderful organic grocery store selling delicious local fruits and veggies (L'Autre Choix). The Café Crème which is just up the street from us is the best place for your morning coffee. Getting AroundThe location is ideally situated for getting around town. It is possible to walk to the heart of the city in 20 minutes. There is also a bus stop just down the block, a bixi bike station an equal distance in the other direction, and Vendome Metro just three blocks to the West. Taxis arrive at the door in five minutes, or they can easily be hailed on Sherbrooke. Other Things to NoteWe charge a small cleaning fee of 60$ per stay. Please also note, we have no TV. Instead, there is a hook up to a monitor for internet viewing (Netflix, etc.).

The SpaceThe flat is on the 4th and last floor of a 1930's building. It's very quiet and bright! The bathroom and kitchen are tiny, but they're always clean, and also very pretty :) The apartment is very well heated in the winter and air circulates nicely with the windows open during summer. Guest AccessI offer tea & coffee! Kitchen area is at your disposal, as long as you clean up after yourself :) (and I will do the same!) Feel free to hang out in the living room / dining room! Bedsheets, blankets, towels are provided. Laundryroom is in the basement (2.50$ / wash, 2.00$ dry) Interaction with GuestsI'm usually pretty busy and my schedule is unpredictable, therefore I probably won't be at home very often. The room is ideal for someone who is looking for a peaceful place to stay! On the other hand I'd be delighted to go for a coffee or a drink if our schedules match :) The NeighborhoodNeighbourhood is safe and quiet! There are grocery stores, pharmacies & cafés at close range. Getting AroundGoing downtown is very easy and quick (15-20 minutes). Metro Vendôme is two blocks away, and there's also a day (24) and night (356) bus right on the corner. It's also right next to Bixi stations and the bike path on de Maisonneuve, which crosses Montreal from east to west! (there are also two bike shops at close range!) Vendôme metro also connects with the train network. ***From the airport, you take the 747 shuttle bus until metro station Lionel-Goulx, and then the metro (orange line, towards Côte-Vertu) until Vendôme. Then you walk to your right on de Maisonneuve and take left on Claremont (about 3 min. walk), and there you are! Other Things to NoteThere is a room where you can lock your bike inside the building, in the basement.

The SpaceCheery yellow walls, fairy lights, houseplants, and souvenirs. It's not modern or corporate, but it's my home and it can be yours (for a short while) too! Well suited for a single person or a couple. Sleeps up to four adults (queen bed in the bedroom and high-quality queen sized futon in the living room). Guest AccessWhole apartment. One closed bedroom (in Quebec called a 3 1/2, vs. a 1 1/2 or a 2 1/2 which usually means a studio/bachelor), living room, small kitchen, small balcony. Interaction with GuestsVery little. Depending when you arrive, I will either greet you myself or arrange for you to have access and from then on the place is yours. The NeighborhoodOne hundred years ago, Westmount used to be a posh country community outside the city of Montreal. Now, it's a peaceful residential neighbourhood, conveniently next to downtown, but with a village feel. There's an artisanal bakery the next block over (try the olive bread), a large European-style public park with a library and a tropical greenhouse, plus the normal conveniences of a large grocery store, a hardware store, banks, pubs, shops, and restaurants. It's at the foot of the mountain, so an evening stroll will take you past the rambling Victorian brick mansions on The Boulevard, or up to a lookout over the city. Getting AroundVery good for transportation. Free street parking for cars. 500m to metro Vendome (orange line goes downtown near the universities, tourist attractions, trendy nightlife, festivals, etc). There's a bus stop on the corner that also goes straight downtown and runs 24 hours a day. Parking not included in the rental. Street parking is generally available nearby. Free 2 hour parking is easy to find. Overnight or weekend parking can often be found as well...ask me for tips! Other Things to NoteN'hesitez pas de m'écrire en français.

Expect traffic to be especially bad due to work on the Turcot Exchange which is supposed to last for a few years, the Mercier and Champlain Bridges, as well as most major highways will have construction work on them. Public transit is your best bet for getting around Montreal this spring, summer and fall. Most roadwork is suspended during the winter months, but of course we have the snow to contend with ! (sigh)

The SpaceThe uniqueness about my place is the space, and the location so close to subway, central park, cinemas, galleries, museum, churches all as walking distance Guest AccessYou can access to the kitchen, ( please clean after you use it) Bbq area, living room and balconies Interaction with GuestsI will be available in any need my guest have, I work in the airline industry for more than 18 years now, I love socialize with different people and culture, my schedule can be tight but i will always e available by text if needed. Do not hesitate to ask me anything. The Neighborhoodyou will discover Westmount, an upscale neighborhood that replaces youthful playfulness with classic heritage and mature style. Westmount is technically it’s own city, but is considered and referred to as another Montreal neighborhood. It was founded by French colonists in 1874, originally giving the area the title of “Cote St. Antoine”. It was renamed as Westmount in 1875, which referred to it’s location on the western slope of Mount Royal. Getting AroundYou will be in the historical site of canada, getting around is easy, and well organized with 24 hrs public transportation, and so Safe area. Other Things to NoteWestmount doesn’t have the nightlife or buzz worthy restaurant scene like many inner city Montreal neighborhoods have. There is a consistent atmosphere being maintained that caters to many longtime residents and the local families. While it’s primarily residential, there are multiple commercial districts on Sherbrooke street, Greene Avenue, and in the charming shopping area called Westmount Square

The NeighborhoodBright renovated furnished studio with an Ikea daybed that can accomodate up to two people. Located in family-friendly NDG neighborhood. Secure building with electronic key access and elevator within a 5 minute walk to Vendome metro station or all public transit. Car not needed -- you will be downtown within 20 minutes which includes McGill University, Dawson College, University of Montreal, Concordia University (both campuses) as well as major teaching hospitals (Ste-Justine, Jewish General, St-Mary's, Montreal Children's to name a few) right across from the McGill University Super Hospital. Bring your bike -- a bike path that leads to Atwater market and downtown runs right outside our building. Don't have a bike ? No problem ! There's a bixi bike station a few blocks away. Great pied-à-terre to explore everything that Montreal has to offer. Getting AroundWe are just a few minutes away from Vendome metro station which will give you access to Montreal's underground subway system. This station serves also as a bus terminal for several bus lines so you don't have to wait very long for a bus. Not to mention the bike path on the side of our building. Very convenient to explore the city. Other Things to NoteBe advised that in 2014, it's going to be difficult getting around by car in Montreal in general as the annual road works season is starting. (sigh)
