Getting AroundThere is no public transit. We are only 10 minutes from downtown Middlebury, and one hour from downtown Burlington. Other Things to NoteYou will be treated to a farmhouse breakfast in the dining room (with fireplace roaring on chilly mornings!) featuring our own eggs and maple syrup. With advance notice we can provide box lunches for hikers, or plan and host a dinner for parties up to eight. A great way to have an intimate dinner if you are visiting your Middlebury student!

Neighbors will make sure house is ready. Interaction with GuestsOur neighbors will be available for any help you might need. I am available by phone. There is a list of information at the house with phone numbers etc. There is a "house manual" at the house with restaurants, shopping, hiking etc. The NeighborhoodBeautiful views out to the Adirondacks to the west. Dairy farm next door. Short drive to hike Snake Mountain or Buck Mountain. Middlebury College is about 8 minutes away. Breadloaf is about 30 minutes down Rt 7 south and up Rt 125. Bristol is about 20 minutes and has a great bakery and restaurant called The Bobcat. Getting AroundNo public transportation. Lots of bike riders in the area. 5-8 minutes to Middlebury and 10-15 minutes to Vergennes to the north. Other Things to NoteNote that there is no phone nor internet nor television at the house. The best place to get cell service is on the porch sitting in the southeast corner across from the bed. Or out on the big stone steps outside the porch. And if you can, please take your trash with you as there is not garbage pick up. If this is a problem please leave a note at the house.

    The SpaceWe have 3 rooms listed (look for the others in case this one's booked!). Each room can sleep up to 3 guests for an additional fee when given advanced notice (we'll set up a twin bed along with the queen bed). Our home is large and comfortable with views of the river and fields. If you'd like an additional twin size bed in your room, please let us know by selecting the "3 guests" option for your stay. Guest AccessWe have a separate guest living room, some light use of the kitchen is fine by us (storing some things in the fridge, making tea etc.), just check in with us about fixing meals. Bathroom is shared except room 4, which has a private bath. Interaction with GuestsDuring the week, we're pretty busy, but we'll do our best to get you situated and show you around. On weekends we offer a family style breakfast, optional yoga classes, seasonal U-Pick, and arranged visits to our chickens and bees or sleigh rides in the winter! Cross country ski trails will be available in the winter, pending weather. Weekdays, breakfast is continental, mostly self serve. We will provide information about the area and can sometime give farm tours. The NeighborhoodWe're 4 miles away from downtown Middlebury, walking distance from a covered bridge and on 175 acres of pristine farmland with plenty of walking trails and lots of veggies and opportunities to get your hands dirty in the summer. Getting AroundParking is available on the property, we're also an easy and scenic bike ride away from town. Other Things to NoteGuests will have to share the guest bathroom, except room 4. As our guest you will have access to an attached separate room (3 rooms total) that offers Satellite T.V., exercise bike, and socializing. We are here to help you have the best experience staying with us while you are in our piece of Vermont. The NeighborhoodWe are in a rural section of Vermont. 7 miles from Middlebury Town and College. We can recommend restaurants in Middlebury or perhaps we cook dinner for you upon request at an additional charge per person. We built a Smokehouse as our hobby and enjoy smoking fish and meats for dinner. BellaVista is located on the face of Snake Mountain, access to hiking is in walking distance. Getting AroundYou will need to have your own transportation. We are in a rural area. There is always artistic, musical, theatrical and College sporting events on going. Please check out on the Middlebury website "things to do in Middlebury". Other Things to NoteWith 3 private rooms and mudroom entrance that constitute BellaVista your privacy will not be interrupted. Providing we have snow, "Think Snow!" you will be able to Nordic ski or snowshoe on 16 acres of privacy right out the front door. We have 2 pairs of shoe shoes available, but not Nordic Ski's. Ice skating on our pond, depending on Mother Nature's cooperation is also available. You will need your own skates. On days or evenings when the wind cooperates, a bonfire in our fire pit goes great with a cup of hot chocolate or glass of your favorite beverage.

Family owned dairy farm across the street. No neighbors nearby for solitary relaxation. Other Things to NoteThere are two small, very well-behaved dogs (JoJo & Zelda) who call this home as well. They are quiet and friendly and keep to themselves downstairs. They do not venture upstairs to the guest bedroom.
