The SpaceThe home will be comfort air conditioned or heated in advance, as weather dictates. This is a multi-level home. The kitchen, dining, living areas are on the ground level and you can park within a few yards of the front door. The Driftwood room is 3 steps down and the Guest bedroom and Bunkroom are 3 steps up. The master bedroom is on the 2nd floor and another flight of stairs up from there, takes you to a 3rd floor spectacular lookout. Laundry is on the ground floor just off the kitchen area. There is a double sided fireplace that warms both the Driftwood room and the Dining/Living/Kitchen area. The dining table seats 8, the island bar seats 4 and the breakfast nook seats 4. A large private patio features a 5 burner gas BBQ, director chairs and 2 picnic tables. Exterior lights can be shut off for astronomers needs. Guest AccessYou will have access to all rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, patios in the main house (essentially the whole house) with the exception of 3 closets, where I keep personal items, and the detached garage, where I stay. There is wifi internet and also a USB laser printer, should you need to print something. Interaction with GuestsI will be available on the day you check-in and I'll be as close by as you want me other days to help you with any questions you may have to make your stay comfortable. I can help you with things to do like find the lake, or the trail to Pearce Ferry rapids, or get the TV to play movies, or show you where the board games are. The NeighborhoodBreathtaking views, very dark skies for star gazing, low humidity clean air, quiet, uncrowded. You are accompanied by a neighborhood of people who live there for the breathtaking views, skies, air, etc and so it is very laid back, quiet and peaceful. Getting AroundOne of the trade-offs to a quiet out-of-the-way place is the lack of stores and restaurants. Meadview has a small market (think 7-11) but it does have gas and diesel, a small quality cafe, a rather nice bar, a pizza/burger joint and a Family Dollar store. You would be best advised to stop in Las Vegas or Kingman (depending on which way you come) to pickup supplies, food, drinks, etc and an ice chest. Other Things to NoteMeadview is unique as it is one of only a few places in the U.S. that is totally surrounded by National Park Service land so it will never grow any larger. It is a high-desert climate at 3200 elevation and has similar weather patterns of Las Vegas. It gets over 100F in the summer and usually snows an inch or two in the winter. Wildlife includes wild horses, coyotes, rabbits, quail, red-tail hawk, eagle, roadrunners, bobcats, rattlesnakes and scorpions, and the lake is home to fish like striped bass, catfish and bluegill.
