    This luxury camping cabin rental in Maine can accommodate up to five guests in the heart of nature. In the spirit of simplicity, it is lit with candles. There is a newly built outhouse a short walk away with a wonderful sun shower. The stay includes a delicious, farm-fresh breakfast made with local produce. Imagine walking up through the dew covered meadow to find a plate of farm-fresh eggs, steaming home-made biscuits, fresh strawberry jam, and large mug of goat milk chai. The cabin is beautifully furnished, and the whole family will find plenty to do during a stay here.

    The SpaceThe cabin has a great feel of being connected to nature. It is cozy and a wonderful place to watch the sunset overlooking grazing animals. The cabin has two double beds, one in the sleeping loft and the other a fold-out couch. We are a working organic farm, so farm tours are very much welcome! Farm fresh breakfast with cabin rental. Bike tours available ~ Chris is an avid biker and has several bike loops he can either lead you on or just send you off with a map. ~ GREAT BIKING Guest AccessGuests have access to the cabin and outhouse. During the summer months we have a sun shower available for guests. Meals are served on the back porch when weather permits. Guests can also have their meals delivered down to the cabin if desired. Fresh Organic farm breakfast for 2 comes with the rental - if additional guests are with you we charge $15 per. If other meals are desired we will gladly provide at additional cost. Meals are healthy, farm fresh & delicious. We love children, but our farm is not set up for young children (less than 6 years old). Interaction with GuestsGuests are welcome to watch us do farm chores & get a chance to hand milk if desired. The animals love attention & welcome inquisitive visitors. Chris & I love to connect with the visitors and share stories, but are also fine if privacy is what you desire. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is "rustic". We live adjacent to the largest roadless area in mid coast Maine. Our property is connected to miles of trails for walking, mountain biking or cross country skiing. Whitefield is a farming community - with a terrific general store (Sheepscot General). We are also very close to the Sheepscot River for those who want to paddle, swim or just listen to the rippling water. Bike tours available ~ Chris is an avid biker and has several bike loops he can either lead or just send you off with a map. Getting AroundThere is no public transportation near to us. Other Things to NoteSheepscot Brewing Company with evening tasting garden located across the street. River swimming hole 2 miles away at Head Tide. Wood fire sauna available on the farm for guest use. Additional meals available upon request at additional cost. Dinner $25 pp, Lunch $17pp (children under 10 half price). Farm products (cheese, goat milk soap, organic wool pillows, eggs, organic meat) are available and grown and made on our farm. 8% Maine lodging tax will be collected when you arrive.

The NeighborhoodWhitefield is becoming known as the Mecca of Maine's agritourism industry. The Sheepscot General store is down the road, the town's central gathering place, where you can get anything you want, including fresh organic produce, homemade bagels everyday, locally-made cheese, fresh duck, even kimchi, and wi-fi. Friday night is pizza night and often there's live music or other entertainment. (It is closed on Mondays.) Coastal beaches within hour's drive. Wonderful clamming at Reid State Park. And there are big lakes nearby. Hidden Valley Nature Center 10-15 minutes away, 25 miles of trails. Bikes and canoe available. This is a farming community. Fresh eggs, milk, butter, grass-fed beef, veggies and herbs, available at neighbors' . Dairy and vegetable and sheep and llama and pig farms on the road, and even a golf course . Great swimming, biking, and walking Blackberry bushes right next to the trailer Getting Around1/2 hour to bus (in Damariscotta and Augusta), 1 hour to major airport one hour to Portland, 1/2 hour to Augusta less than an hour to best beaches (Reid and Popham state parks) 45 minutes to Rockland and Camden, 50 minutes to Belfast Other Things to NoteHeater could be used September-November, but it probably is too cold to live in the trailer after that. Heat would cost extra. I can provide you fresh vegetables from my garden in season. I have some bikes you could borrow and a canoe, if you can put it on top of your car.

Getting AroundYou will need a car for travel around the area, but there are wonderful trials, walking and biking spaces that are within 0-5 miles.     This cozy cottage is situated twenty feet from the shoreline of quiet Dyer Long Pond in Jefferson, ME. Closed in the winter, this quiet retreat offers a rustic pine interior with all the amenities needed to enjoy your Maine vacation. Near the lower half of the lake, the cottage is nestled in dense pine and oak trees. The lake is quiet with very little power boating and is more geared towards canoeing and kayaking. It is a nature lovers spot with good chances of siting ospreys, bald eagles, beavers, turtles, loons, and many other bird species. Cottage is 15-min from the Mid-coast of Maine. Explore Damariscotta and the Penobscot bay areas for antiquing and outdoor pursuits. Close to area lighthouses and maritime museums, Pemaquid point one of the most photographed lighthouses in Maine is 27 miles. We were just highlighted as a kayaking destination in Maine's Sunday Telegram. During peak summer months June-Aug the rate is 800 a week or 125$ a night. For may and fall months the rate is 700 a week, 100 a night. There is a 3 night minimum and I do offer discounts for long stays of 2 weeks or more (i have rented for a month before). Ask about discounts for the fall, good rates for multiweek and week stays depending on availability. waterfront: there is 200 feet of private waterfront w/new aluminum dock (2010) and float for swimming. Come stay in the fall and use my camp for your base for leaf viewing in the fall. The fall is an awesome time to visit Dyerlong Cottage because the crowds are gone, traffic is better, the stove is cozy, and theres nothing better then kayaking on the glass lake w/orange and red leaves reflecting off the water. Fall can be spectacular. Read my reviews, ask me for more pictures, you wont be let down, I've never received anything but positive feedback from my renters...except maybe about the bugs! but that's all of Maine.
