The SpaceIt's so quite and feels so far away from everything. Guest AccessA pricelss view of nature, and immediate access to the best of southern Vermont. 20 Minute Drive to Mt. Snow. Interaction with GuestsNone, unless required The NeighborhoodThe view..... Getting Aroundyou will need a car to get around. But many of our guests from the city enjoy just hanging around the house and yard, or walking to the lake and play ground (1 mile on the road mostly down hill). Or the playground about 3/4 mile down the road. From our hiking guest we understand there is relatively easy access to the application trail, and we have maps for hiking available. Other Things to NoteNo TV reception (Antenna or Cable). TV has both DVD and VCR player. Free internet connection. Very limited cell phone connection. Summer entrance to the apartment is the back door of the house through the laundry/utility room. In winter when the back door is not accessible you enter via a car port and then go through the master bedroom to access the rest of the apartment. Most of our guests do not mind this, but just so you know.

The SpaceThis property comfortably accommodates 6 people in three bedrooms and 2 floors. There is a full bath on both floors. This house was fully restored in 2004, including the attached barns. The surrounding open fields bordered by stone walls and forest are the perfect setting to "unplug" from urban life, reconnect to simplicity and nature. Guest AccessYou will have complete access to the whole house & barns and surrounding acreage. There are clearly marked forest trails circumnavigating the property. There is also a trail access to the east that will lead you to a large lake. Interaction with GuestsYou will have this house to yourselves as the owner does not live there. A local farmer hays the property in the summer, which means infrequent visits, but he, Martin Sprague, is very friendly and helpful. The NeighborhoodThe forests and peace are enchanting, intoxicating. The wildlife is fully entertaining and the more you adventure into the forest trails the more you will grow to love this place. Getting AroundThere is one dirt road access passing in front of the house that quickly enters Massachusetts so the house is very near Vermont's southern border. The road is used about equally by bikes, horses, hikers and cars, and overall not very well used. Other Things to NoteThis house is very close to MassMOCA in Williamstown and the Honora Winery is just 8 miles back in Jacksonville. In addition to its wines, they also sell some wonderful cheese, both local and imported. Local farmers are a great source for fresh dairy products, eggs, and vegetables.
