The SpaceSomething interesting to look at in every direction! Eclectic and artsy on the inside, boxy brick structure on the outside, old school back porch and quaint yard (with deer regularly traveling through, cherry and walnut trees), a giant pine in the front yard. Interior is vintage modern eclectic with art on the walls, a record player, big beautiful picture windows with views of trees and southern exposure sunsets. PET A beautiful, short-haired tortie cat lives here and is part of the deal so if you're not cat-friendly/are allergic, this is not a good option. Don't worry, the place does not smell like cat at all! She is very low-maintenance and only requires dry food, water, an occasional pat on the head and maybe being let out if it's warm weather (there is absolutely no expectation to deal with litter!). She may hide for a day or even two when guests are here but eventually warms up and has been known to even “entertain” once she breaks her initial shyness ☺. The House Manual has more details. So far all of my guests have said she is a great cat to hang with. ABOUT CALENDAR & AVAILABILITY Since this is our primary residence, we are more there than not. However, if a date range you're looking for shows as unavailable on my calendar, feel free to inquire as we may be able to accommodate weekend stays as needed. FOR FOLKS WITH KIDDIES As you can see from the pics, we have many small things and breakables throughout the house. It would be too extensive for us to child proof whenever we have a guest, so you should take that into consideration for your choice. ABOUT ME I'm an artist, designer and art educator with a liberal/tolerant world view. I'm thorough, efficient, and a good communicator who wants your stay to be as pleasant and hassle-free as possible. ABOUT THE PLACE... KITCHEN Cute and well-equipped with electric stove, frig, blender, microwave, electric tea pot & coffee pot but no dishwasher. BATHROOMS Full bath and powder room. Good shower and deep, old fashioned (though not claw footed) tub. SLEEPING Queen bed in the master bedroom with memory foam mattress, full in second bedroom has a foam-topped mattress. There is also a pull out Ikea chair that converts into a twin mattress bed, and a sectional sofa that's comfy enough to sleep on. ART STUDIO There is a small basement studio available for art-making. LAUNDRY ON PREMISES Washer & dryer PARKING Attached garage for 1 compact car (my Honda Fit fits nicely but a larger sedan or SUV will not). Driveway fits 2 cars. LOCATION See "Neighborhood" section for details. CLIMATE Central heat/air. IN SUM Family and friends from cities where real estate is through the roof, can't stop gushing about this place when they visit. Good energy and pleasant vibes. :-) Guest AccessNice digs, back yard, lots of green (flowers in Spring), quiet rest, central location. Interaction with GuestsI like open channels of communication. If something can't be found or goes wrong, a call to my cell phone is welcome. In turn, I like to be able to reach my guests easily. The NeighborhoodThis is an older (1950s) residential neighborhood made up of mostly brick houses, a mix of ethnicities, ages, and styles. 20 minutes to downtown Pittsburgh, The North Side (Warhol Museum, Children's Museum, Mattress Factory installation art gallery), and Oakland colleges and Carnegie Museum(s). 10 minute bus or car ride to the hip and trendy Lawrenceville where great cafés (Espresso a Mano), restaurants (from Thai to Mexican), and shops (Pavement, if you like shoes) abound. 10 minutes in another direction to the lovely Highland Park (don't miss the Taza D'oro Café, several outstanding restaurants for brunch, lunch, dinner on Bryant Street, such as Park Bruges and E2, and, in the main entrance of Highland Park, the beautifully restored fountain and gardens). Getting AroundAs mentioned, this is a residential area with no cafes/restaurants in walking distance, so you'll need a car...or be an adept biker who can handle the very steep hills back up to the house. In a 10 minute drive you can easily get to many excellent cafes and restaurants. That said, it's only 1 block to Stanton Ave (a main bus line) that gets you to Negley in about 5 minutes where you can transfer to many other bus lines. Other Things to Note1

The NeighborhoodAbout the Neighborhood: I live in a neighborhood called Regent Square. It is a mixed neighborhood with many international people and Americans from all walks of life. I love it and chose it for that exact reason. There is much to do. There is a great coffee shop down the street (take a right when you come out of the house and go two blocks through the little park.) It is called Biddles Escape. There are a few bars, restaurants and even a movie theatre nearby, along Braddock Ave. Penn Ave has a drugstore, lots of fast food joints and the East End Food Coop. We even have a hospital down the street. Everything is within walking distance if you can walk a mile. The best park is Frick Park. It was donated over 100 years ago by the famous steal baron Henry Frick. He worked with Andrew Carnegie. The same one whose house is a museum in NYC. His original house is on Penn Ave, less than a mile away. Check it out at (URL HIDDEN) But back to the park, it is great for running, hiking or walking. There are many trails and you can be in it for hours. Transportation: There are many buses. You can take the 61a or b or 71c to Oakland or Squirrel Hill or Shadyside. There are also buses to downtown. You can check the routes and schedules at Port Authority of Pittsburgh (URL HIDDEN) If you need to purchase a bus ticket, you can buy it online. You can also call a taxi or use Uber (you will need to download the uber app). It is a great and cheap way to get around town. From the airport you can either take Supershuttle or a taxi. Uber will get you to the airport but they are not allowed to pick up. The public bus can take you from CMU to the airport. You can take another bus to get to the bus stop at CMU. It costs about $3. You can check it out on (URL HIDDEN) Around Town: There is a blue folder underneath the coffee table. There you will find great info about Pittsburgh. There is so much to see. We have many museums, great neighborhoods, baseball, football, hockey, the Pittsburgh Symphony, the Opera, theaters, etc. Getting AroundYes. There are several buses 71c, 61 a and b to mention a few. Hdgmhgjrigdfxunxumyfgvindty Other Things to NoteIf the other bedroom is taken I would ask that you share the bathroom with the guests.

The SpaceThis four bedroom house is conveniently located in the Regent Square neighborhood of Pittsburgh. The craftsman-style house was built in the 1920s and still has the original wood floors and built in bookcases. We are particularly partial to the deck, grill and terraced vegetable and perennial gardens. The house is set up with three bedrooms on the 2nd floor and one more private bedroom on the third floor. Its one block from 561-acre Frick Park, walking distance from the East End Food Coop and the Regent Square business district. Children are welcome and baby gates/cribs are available upon request. Buses to the Universities in Oakland (15min) and Downtown (25min) are just one block away. You are also welcome to use our bicycles while you are here. There is easy and free on-street parking. We hope that you can come enjoy this space that offers plenty of room indoors with easy accessibility to the universities, parks and other attractions of the city. p.s. We have moved a bit of furniture since the pictures were taken. We now have a king size bed in the master bedroom so the pictured silver queen size bed is now on the third floor. We think its an improvement! We've also opened up the wall between the kitchen and dining room so it's much more open, and the front hallway is a kids play nook. More pictures coming soon!

The SpaceThis loft is very unique to Pittsburgh. Watch the sunrise from the east hills and then light up East Liberty as it sets. The bedroom has a comfortable queen size bed with memory foam top. The couch can also sleep two people, but be aware that the bedroom isn't completely private. So share the space with close friends if you're going to have more than two people. :) Guest Access- Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, range and microwave. - Wifi - No cable TV, but I have an HDTV with an older Mac Mini, a PS3, and a Chromecast hooked up for your use. HDMI inputs available for your laptop as well. - Mackie studio monitors and a great work space are available for music producers and music lovers, or people who will be working during their travels. Your spreadsheets and email never sounded so good! - Garage door opens up the living room to the outside patio on nice days. Great for entertaining. - Don't open the utility closet because it will probably explode household objects upon you. Interaction with GuestsMyself or my boyfriend Justin will meet you at the apartment to show you around and give you the keys. I'll be staying ten minutes away if I'm in town while you're here, and both of us will be available during your entire stay for any questions or to help with anything. We are obsessed with Pittsburgh and would love to help you love our city just as much. The NeighborhoodMy loft is located in the center of the Penn Ave Arts District. It's an emerging, eclectic part of the East End that still retains the grit that I love about Pittsburgh. While the neighborhood is in transition, everything you could possibly need is within walking distance. On my block you'll find a beer distributor, one of the best restaurants in the city (Salt of the Earth), Voluto coffee (bangin), a yoga studio, an upscale mexican spot with great cocktails, and many bodegas. Within a ten minute walk is Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Aldi, Market District, and Target. Walk to Shadyside and you'll find any type of boutique store you could ask for, as well as nice gay bars and a few great restaurants. Walk to East Liberty for the best emerging restaurant scene in the city, the (website hidden) office, an Ace Hotel under construction, and some grit. Walk to Bloomfield (Little Italy) for a dose of the weirdest business district in the city and some cool dive bars. Strangely, this neighborhood has better Thai and Japanese restaurants than it does Italian. Step it up, third and fourth generation Italian Americans! Getting AroundThe 88 bus picks up right outside the building, and the 87 picks up one more block away. Together, they have a frequency of every 15 minutes and will get you to the Strip District (foodie heaven). They also terminate downtown. The 71A and 71C also pick up on my block and run every 5-10 minutes to Oakland – the location of University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon, Chatham, and Carlow. Must-sees in this area include the Carnegie Museums, Cathedral of Learning, Schenley Park, and Phipps Conservatory & Botanical Garden. The fastest route to downtown is to walk 8-10 minutes to Negley Station on the East Busway. The P1 and P2 rapid buses will get you there in under 10 minutes and run every 5 minutes.

Getting Around71c, 61 a and b and many more. Other Things to NoteIf the other bedroom is rented I kindly ask that you share the bedroom.

The SpaceThis unique home was built in 1969 by Pittsburgh native Joseph Yacoboni, who received a US Patent in 1975 for the construction method. The house was designed to withstand earthquakes and 250 mph hurricanes...not something we here in the 'Burgh normally have to worry about! • PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE SUBMITTING AN INQUIRY OR A BOOKING REQUEST. Answers to many questions you may have can be found here. • By reading all of the information we've made available here and by asking in advance any additional questions you may have, you can arrive with realistic and reasonable expectations regarding: - our House Rules and policies - the dome itself and the available amenities - transportation options (we very strongly recommend that guests have a car, as our dome is not in a walkable neighborhood; Uber and Lyft are also viable options). - proximity to attractions, shopping, dining, and other neighborhoods; the listing's map includes a shaded circle that indicates the general area in which the home is located. • Please don't book without reading the listing and then leave a negative review based on unrealistic expectations that resulted from your failure to read the listing. Yes, we and other hosts we know have unfortunately hosted a few guests who have done just that... something that any reasonable person understands says far more about those particular guests than it says about the hosts and their listings. • Feel free to read our reviews and to ask us if you have any questions or concerns regarding a comment made in a prior guest’s review. • If you and/or others in your traveling party are expecting luxury or a place where everything is shiny, new, and perfect, or if our dome isn't in an area you want to stay in, then please do all parties involved a favor and don't book with us. • But if you’re looking to stay in a unique and sometimes quirky home that is within the city limits but feels more secluded, our dome may be perfect for you! • Our dome is NOT located in a posh neighborhood or a sterile/sanitized/homogeneous cookie-cutter development. • As our dome is a very unique vintage property that contains mostly vintage furnishings, the dome and furnishings do display some age-appropriate wear. We’ve made various updates and improvements over the time we’ve had the dome, and plan to continue doing so as time and finances permit. • This listing's Airbnb Verified photos reflect the furnishings and decor at the time of the Airbnb photo shoot (August 2013), and the other photos have been taken at various time since then. Please note that furnishings and decor are subject to change at our discretion. The desk (shown in some photos) is no longer in the home, the bed linens have been updated, and various other minor changes have been made. Guest AccessYou'll be staying in one of Pittsburgh's most unique homes. Only 26 Yaca-Domes were ever built; ours was the first one built, and it's also the only Yaca-Dome in this part of the county. We recently installed new Nest Bedding mattresses and pillows in our dome's 3 bedrooms. Nest Bedding's motto is "Love Where You Sleep" and we do believe that our guests will love these super comfy mattresses and pillows! Nest Bedding's high quality mattresses and pillows are eco-friendly and are made to order by hand right here in the USA. Love the beds? In each of the bedrooms we have posted a Nest Bedding Promo Code for $$$ off when you order a Nest Bedding mattress for delivery to your own home! The Nest Bedding Discount Code posted in each bedroom corresponds with the specific mattress style in that room: The Alexander Signature Series (King bedroom), The Alexander Hybrid (Queen bedroom), and The Love Bed (Full bedroom). Features of our dome include: • WiFi access • Central heat/AC • Master Bedroom- King bed with Nest Bedding's Alexander Signature Series mattress in medium firmness, 2 Nest Easy Breather pillows, 2 regular pillows, nightstand with lamp, chest of drawers, dresser with mirror, 2 chairs with a side table and lamp, clock radio, closet, and ceiling fan/light. • Middle-sized Bedroom- Queen size bed with Nest Bedding's Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress in medium firmness, 2 Nest Easy Breather pillows, 2 regular pillows, 2 bedside tables with lamps, chest of drawers, chair, closet, and ceiling fan/light. • Smallest Bedroom- Full size bed with Nest Bedding's Love Bed mattress in medium firmness, 2 Nest Easy Breather pillows, 2 regular pillows, side table, narrow chest of drawers, floor lamp, and table fan. Please note that the refrigerator is NOT hooked up to a water line; however, you can buy a bag of ice (or make cubes in the ice trays) and pour it into the bin of the ice maker, which then can be used to dispense cubed or crushed ice thru the door. • Patio- outdoor dining set with 4 chairs • If you need another chair or two outside due to having booked for 5 or 6 guests, use the wooden chairs from the closet. Those wooden chairs are the only indoor furniture that you are permitted to take outside, and you are to bring them back inside promptly after each use. • DO NOT EVER under any circumstances take the metal indoor dining chairs, or any interior furnishings other than the wooden dining chairs, outside! • Do not rearrange our furniture. • Iron and ironing board (stored in closet) • Bed linens- the pictured comforter sets have been replaced with duvets with duvet covers and matching pillow covers. Each bed has 4 pillows; to minimize allergy issues, all pillows and the duvets are free of down or feathers. If additional warmth is needed, there is a blanket for each bed (blankets can be found stored in the closet during warmer months). • Bath linens- for stays of 4 nights or less, we supply a set of 2 bath towels and 2 washcloths per registered guest; also provided are hand towels and a bath mat. We will provide additional bath linens for longer stays. • We provide a starter supply of coffee, tea bags, sugar, powdered creamer, salt, pepper, coffee filters, paper towels, trash bags, recycling bags, dish soap, shampoo, body wash, liquid hand soap, and toilet paper. If your traveling party includes children, infants, and/or individuals with mobility issues, please note: • the home is not child proofed and there may be cleaning chemicals and other potentially hazardous household items that are not out of reach of children; the booking Guest and other adults in the group are responsible for supervising children at all times • we do NOT provide cribs, playpens, highchairs, or any other baby gear • we do not provide toys, games, or other items to keep children entertained • the home's beds are pretty high; it is the responsibility of the booking Guest to determine prior to booking whether the beds are suitable for the needs of all traveling party members • there are not grab bars in the bathroom • the home's toilet (Kohler Rialto) is not an ADA height toilet Please note that there are some items and areas at the property that guests are not permitted to access as they are reserved for our personal use. Thank you in advance for respecting our privacy, and for ensuring that all traveling party members and invited visitors (including children) also do so. The following areas and items are off limits to guests: • the outdoor storage shed • the furnace room • a small indoor storage room • the items stored in a few cabinets/drawers/shelves labeled "NOT FOR GUEST USE" that are reserved for our personal use • anything that is locked Please be aware that 3 of the home's electrical outlets are controlled by switches. Specific information regarding the location of these switch-controlled outlets, and the switches that control them, can be found in the House Manual (which will be included on the Airbnb itinerary that is generated after you book). • WE PERMIT A MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY OF 6 PEOPLE (including children and infants, regardless of their proposed sleeping arrangements). • All individuals who will be on the property for ANY amount of time must be paid for (regardless of their size or age) and are to be accounted for in the total number when you send a booking request. • We offer our home for use only by the registered guests whose names have been provided to us and who are included in the guest count as shown on the itinerary that Airbnb generates for us once a booking is made. • For liability reasons, we do not permit any unregistered guests to be on the property. • No pets are permitted on the property. Our "No pets" policy is NOT negotiable. • Please respect our right to decide how we allow our home to be used and how many people we feel our home can safely and comfortably accommodate. Please note that there are no laundry facilities at the dome. The laundromat we recommend to our guests is The Laundry Factory; it is located on Ellsworth Avenue in Shadyside, and is a 10 minute drive from the dome. The Laundry Factory is open 7 AM to 9:30 PM daily and offers self-serve coin operated washers and dryers, drop-off laundry service ($1.35 per pound) with same day service available to noon Monday through Friday, and dry cleaning services. For guests who will not have a car, we could discuss arrangements for pick up and drop off of laundry for a small additional fee. Interaction with Guests• Before you submit a booking request, please send a message to tell us a bit about yourself, the makeup of your traveling party (including the ages of all guests who will be under 18 years old at the beginning of your stay), and the general purpose of your trip. Like many Airbnb hosts, we prefer to know these things before we consider accepting a booking request for this home, and we're more likely to accept your request if you have a fully completed profile which includes a clear and recognizable photo of you. • Please note that you will not be able to complete the booking process until you have verified your ID via Airbnb's Verified ID process. • Usually it will be Lisa who answers Airbnb messages, meets you at the dome for check in, and serves as the primary contact during your stay. • You are responsible for contacting us in advance to coordinate a mutually agreeable arrival time. • We schedule check in times between 4 PM and 8 PM. Depending on the circumstances and our schedules, we may agree to schedule a check in later than 8 PM, but this must be requested BEFORE the booking is made. • Please keep in mind that we will schedule our other obligations and plans for the day based on the originally agreed-upon arrival time, and plan your travel schedule accordingly. • Contact us ASAP if you encounter any delays that will cause you to arrive over 45 minutes after your scheduled check in time... while we will make an attempt to accommodate check in at your new projected arrival time, in order to accommodate our other obligations we may need to schedule the new check in time later than you request. • If your plans change and you arrive in town earlier than the agreed-upon time, due to our other obligations we often won't be available to meet you earlier and/or may not yet have the house ready for you to check in. • Upon arrival, be prepared to upon request present your unexpired US driver's license (or state-issued ID card, if you don't have a driver's license) or a valid passport, and all other guests 18 years of age or greater must also be prepared to provide the same. • You can contact us any time for emergencies, and can call or text between 9 AM and 10 PM for non-emergency questions or concerns. • During your stay, we may occasionally stop by the property to retrieve items from the storage shed, do some yard work, collect trash, etc. • During your stay, we will enter the home only if we have informed you in advance, if there is an emergency, or if we have reasonable belief that the House Rules or other terms of the booking may have been violated. The NeighborhoodPLEASE NOTE that guests are advised to bring a car, or to plan on using Lyft or Uber (which tend to be more reliable and often less expensive than a taxi), as our dome is NOT in a walkable neighborhood. The Walk Score website rated our home's location as: • Car-Dependent (score 12) "Almost all errands require a car." • Some Transit (score 34) "A few nearby public transportation options." • Somewhat Bikeable (score 13) "Very steep hills, minimal bike lanes." * The above Walk Score ratings were obtained in November 2016. Despite being within the Pittsburgh city limits, the home's location feels more secluded than you might expect. It's in a wooded area, near the end of a quiet lane. There are other homes nearby, but the neighbors are pretty quiet and low-key. Although our dome is NOT in a walkable neighborhood (and there really isn't anything of interest nearby to walk to), shopping and dining in the East Liberty/Shadyside area and other nearby neighborhoods are just a short drive from the dome and include: • Bakery Square (ZipCar, TechShop, LA Fitness, Asiatique Thai Bistro, Social (bar), Jimmy John's, Panera, Coffee Tree Roasters, Anthropologie, West Elm, PNC Bank, Marriott Springhill Suites...and the Pittsburgh location of the internet giant whose name airbnb won't let me post, it comes from its' founders misspelling the word "Googol") • The Fire Side Public House • Village of Eastside Shopping Center (Trader Joe's, McDonald's, Tuesday Morning, Staples, China Garden Buffet) • Aldi • Whole Foods • Giant Eagle • Target • A diverse selection of popular Pittsburgh restaurants (BRGR, Casbah, Dinette, Mad Mex, Noodlehead, Paris 66, Plum Pan-Asian Kitchen, Sharp Edge Beer Emporium, Pamela's, Smiling Banana Leaf, Soba, Spoon, Sushi Too, Tana Ethiopian Cuisine, Thai Place, Union Pig and Chicken, and more. Getting AroundBY CAR: • One of the great things about Pittsburgh is that most places in the city are within a short drive, as the area encompassed within the city limits is less than 60 sq miles. • From the dome, many other Pittsburgh neighborhoods are within a 10 to 20 minute drive during non-peak travel times. • Travel during rush hour can unfortunately double your driving time. BY BUS (not recommended): • Considering the location of the house in relation to the major bus lines, guests staying here usually prefer to have a vehicle with them, and we also strongly recommend this. We have also had a few guests who came without a car and successfully used Uber or Lyft for all their transportation needs. • If you are intending to rely primarily or solely on the bus system for transportation during your stay, we would suggest you not book our home. • Although it's very easy to get from the house to most places in the city by car within a reasonable time, the bus schedules and routes often make it difficult and time consuming to travel from the house to those same places. • Should you still choose to use the bus system, the nearest bus stop is a 10 minute walk away. TRAVEL DURING THE WINTER: • Guests should keep in mind that it is not uncommon for the Pittsburgh area to experience snow accumulation and icy road conditions at various times between November through March. • While we do our best to ensure that the property's driveway and sidewalk are passable at our guests' scheduled arrival time, the lane leading to the driveway is a public roadway, and we obviously have no control over the city's street plowing schedule... please consider this if you are interested in booking during the winter months. • We personally haven't had any problems getting in and out during the winter when using a 4WD vehicle, and also so far have been able to get in and out using a front wheel drive vehicle (Toyota Prius), but as they say "YMMV." DRIVING DISTANCES: The approximate driving distances to some of Pittsburgh's many attractions and world class medical facilities are: • Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium 2.5 miles • UPMC St. Margaret Hospital 2.5 miles • UPMC Shadyside Hospital/UPMC Hillman Cancer Center 3 miles • UPMC Children's Hospital 3.5 miles • West Penn Hospital 3.5 miles • Oakland 4 miles (Pitt, CMU, UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Western Psych, VA Hospital, Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History, Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens) • Waterworks Mall 4 miles (Waterworks Cinema, Wal-Mart, Old Navy, Barnes & Noble, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Bed Bath & Beyond, Giant Eagle, Burgatory, Thai Place, Eat'n Park, Chili's Grill & Bar, Five Guys Famous Burger & Fries, & more) • Strip District 5 miles (Heinz History Center, the original Primanti Brothers location, Penn Mac, Wholey's Seafood, Stan's Produce, various restaurants & ethnic markets, great street food...a veritable foodie paradise! • Fox Chapel Racket Club 5.7 miles • Fox Chapel Golf Club 6.3 miles • Shady Side Academy Senior School 6.4 miles • Downtown/Cultural District 6.5 miles • The Waterfront 6.5 miles (AMC Loews Theatre, The Improv, Costco, Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, DSW Shoes, Macy's, Men's Wearhouse, Old Navy, Victoria's Secret, Bar Louie, Bravo Cucina Italiana, Dave & Buster's, Mitchell's Fish Market, P.F. Also, please do not submit a booking request unless your travel dates are firm and not subject to change. Once we have accepted a booking request, the only pricing adjustments or alterations that we will consider making will be requests to add nights or to include additional guests who weren't part of the original booking. For the safety and security of the property, we reserve the right to install and utilize exterior security cameras to monitor the property. There will NOT be any security cameras operating inside the home during a guest's booking.

The Space• Perfect for 1 or 2 guests for an extended stay, or up to 3 guests for a shorter stay. • You will have exclusive use of a large bedroom located at the center of the 2nd floor of our home. • The bedroom is furnished with a Queen size bed (and optional twin floor mattress*), nightstand with lamp, large dresser, mirror, chest of drawers, chair, ceiling light, closet, cable TV (Comcast's Digital Economy cable channels, which is a VERY basic package) with remote, fan, individually controlled electric baseboard heat, and 2 large windows. • A window air conditioning unit is installed in the room during the summer. • As there may be other guests staying in our home, for guest privacy the bedroom has a keyed front door style lock, and there's a privacy lock on the bathroom door. * We will prepare a twin mattress in the room if you book for 3 guests; if you aren't booking for 3 guests, the twin mattress will be provided only if requested in advance. Guest Access• You'll have exclusive use of your bedroom. • You'll have access to the shared 2nd floor bathroom. • You're welcome to use the blow dryer and toiletry items stored in the bin in the bathroom. Ask before using any other items stored in the bathroom, as they may belong to whoever is sharing the bathroom with you. • In the morning you can help yourself to the items on our coffee bar for a light self-service breakfast (coffee, assorted teas, sugar, powdered creamer, instant oatmeal packets, and granola bars) in our dining room. • There is also a microwave and mini-fridge in the dining room, for guest use. • You can access our kitchen during daytime and evening hours to use the stovetop and toaster for light cooking or reheating of leftovers. You may also use the microwave (located in the dining room) • No oven or broiler use is permitted. • Upon request we can provide space for you to store a limited amount of refrigerated and dry foods. • Do not bring any items that need to be frozen; as we tend to keep our freezer full, we're unable to provide you with freezer space. Please note that we do not provide any laundry facilities in our home. The laundromat we recommend to our guests is The Laundry Factory; it is located on Ellsworth Avenue in Shadyside, and is 1 mile from our home, which is a 5 minute drive (or you can get there by bus, which most days is a 10 to 15 minute trip). The Laundry Factory is open 7 AM to 9:30 PM daily and offers self-serve coin operated washers and dryers, drop-off laundry service ($1.35 per pound) with same day service available to noon Monday through Friday, and dry cleaning services. Interaction with Guests• After a booking has been confirmed, Airbnb provides the guest and host with each other's contact info, and that is also when Airbnb allows the guest to see the address of the listing. But there is a map on the listing, and the map has a shaded circle; our home is located along the section of E Liberty Blvd that falls within that circle. Until a booking has been made, for safety and privacy reasons we will not provide potential guests with our exact address, so please do not ask. • Lisa is who usually responds to messages here, and she's who you'll most frequently be communicating with prior to and during your stay. • We're frequently away from the home at various times throughout the day, and we sometimes stay at another location. For this reason, your arrival time must be coordinated with us in advance in order to ensure someone will be at the house to greet you and provide access. • Check in after 10 PM is permitted only with prior approval. • Your Airbnb itinerary will include a contact number (Lisa's cell phone) to use for calls or texts between 9 AM and 10 PM for questions and other non-urgent matters, and you can call anytime for emergencies. • Unless it is for a truly urgent reason, please refrain from calling or texting Lisa during the night or early morning hours. • Upon arrival, be prepared to upon request present your unexpired US driver's license (or state-issued ID card, if you don't have a driver's license) or a valid passport, and the name on the ID must match the name on your account; if the booking was made for occupancy by multiple guests, your traveling companion(s) must also be prepared to provide the same, and you must upon booking send a message to provide us with the full legal name(s) of everyone who is part of your booking. • For the safety and security of our home and everyone in it, YOU MAY NOT FOR ANY AMOUNT OF TIME BRING ANYONE INTO OUR HOME OTHER THAN THE GUESTS WHO ARE ACCOUNTED FOR IN YOUR RESERVATION AND WHOSE FULL LEGAL NAMES HAVE BEEN PROVIDED IN ADVANCE. Make sure that you enter the accurate number of guests when submitting a booking request or using the Instant Book feature, as your booking will be valid for only the number of guests that you have paid for. If you have indicated elsewhere (i.e., in a message via the Airbnb platform or in any other communication) that you intend to bring more people than the number you paid for, or if you arrive at our home with more people than you booked and paid for, before you check in the number of guests must be adjusted on the Airbnb system (but cannot exceed the listed maximum occupancy) and the appropriate extra person fee must be paid. • Weekly stays (7+ nights) and monthly stays receive a discount, and this discount is automatically calculated by Airbnb's system when you enter your desired dates and the accurate number of guests. • No discounts are offered for stays of less than 1 week, and no additional discounts are offered on top of the above-mentioned weekly/monthly discount, but you are welcome to inquire as to whether we have availability for another of our listings at a lower rate for your dates. • If you have any questions about the rate displayed when you are in the process of making a booking request, please ask for clarification BEFORE you finalize your booking request. • Once your booking request has been submitted and we have accepted it, eligibility for a refund will be as specified in the cancellation policy that was in effect at the time you booked.

The SpaceWelcome to The Mellor House Bed & Breakfast! The Mellor House B&B offers free Wireless High Speed Internet service. The third floor bedroom has space for two and includes a full breakfast. No smoking allowed. The room: Spacious and bright, this restored and updated third floor bedroom includes a comfortable double bed as well as a small desk placed near south-facing windows for writing or study. A set of comfortable arm chairs are perfect for reading. A renovated and enlarged third floor bathroom has two pedestal sinks, a large shower stall, and claw foot tub. The commode is separated from the rest of the bathroom by a pocket door. Note: The bathroom is shared if there is a guest in the other third floor bedroom. There is zoned heating and cooling for the third floor; the thermostat is right outside the bedrooms, in the third floor hall. Accommodations include off-street parking as well as a beautiful park-like setting with perennial gardens, pond and multiple outdoor seating areas. The home: This lovely Victorian home was built in 1891 for the family of Michael R. Haymaker. Haymaker was a western Pennsylvania oil and natural gas producer. The house, constructed in the Queen Anne style characterized by a non-symmetrical house shape and facade, steeply pitched roof, fluted chimneys and ornamental brick and woodwork. The home was built on a lot that was formerly part of the grounds of the nearby Gardner Mansion. Edgewood was Pittsburgh's first commuter suburb, at a time when most white-collar Downtown employees lived within walking distance of their workplaces. In 1922, George and Clara Mellor purchased the home. George Mellor was an Edgewood native, and vice-president of the C.C. Mellor Company, a Downtown Pittsburgh musical instrument store. Mellor's father, Charles C. Mellor, was an early homeowner in Edgewood and was the namesake of Edgewood's C.C. Mellor Library, located across the street, in the same block as the Mellor House B&B. The community: Edgewood Borough was founded in 1888. The borough is located 7 miles from downtown Pittsburgh and has a population of 3,311 in its .92 square miles. Edgewood Borough combines the tree-lined beauty of an old Pennsylvania town with the advantages of an unbeatable suburban locale. Our local police force makes sure that our community is safe and secure. And, The Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation has designated Edgewood a historic district. Edgewood Borough is located within walking distance of Regent Square and beautiful 476 acre Frick Park, with natural trails, as well as tennis courts. Regent Square boasts many interesting shops and local eateries. Ann Davis at Typhoon will help will all your lighting needs. Her inventory is set among unusual antiques and gift items. David Knouse at Le Mix offers an eclectic assortment of furniture, furnishings, pottery and jewelry, both antique and Mid-Century Modern. In the same block, The Square Cafe offers vegan options and sidewalk seating. Across the street, D's Six Pax & Dogz is home to more than 1,000 craft micro-brews, imports and domestic beers. Root 174 believes in cooking with produce that is in season and sourced locally when possible. Their menu changes often, updated on their website by 3:30 daily. Annette and her crew at Styles by Cardamone offer many spa services including hair cuts, color, highlights, mani/pedi. Her masseuse will come to the house for your massage. Full size Tarocco products are available at her salon. The Edgewood Club at the corner of Pennwood and West Swissvale Avenues is located across the street, and in the same block as the Mellor House B&B. The historic building also houses the C.C. Mellor Library, one of the only libraries funded by Dale Carnegie not carrying his name. In 1916 it was decided that combining forces to raise funds for and construct a facility containing a library would be in everyone's best interest. The property was purchased by the Club from the Charles Mellor family at a greatly reduced price because of its intended community-centered use. The Edgewood Club is a popular venue for wedding receptions, and the Mellor House B&B would be a delightful place for the bridal party to prepare! More information can be found at the Club's website at (website hidden). (The Edgewood CLUB is NOT to be confused with the Edgewood COUNTRY Club, which is actually in nearby Churchill, PA.) The Edgewood Club and CC Mellor Library building which was formally opened in 1918, is interesting architecturally because it is exactly fitted to its triangular plot. The building, designed by architect Edward B. Lee, is white stucco with a Spanish tile roof, a pergola and line of columns. According to Franklin Toker, author of Pittsburgh: An Urban Portrait, it is "a public monument...altogether one of the best public buildings in the city." Its unique architecture accentuates the building as a focal point within the community. Community: The nearby Edgewood Towne Center is a large neighborhood shopping center, within walking distance of the Mellor House B&B. The anchor store is a privately owned and newly renovated Giant Eagle Market District. Other stores include Ashley Stewart, AT&T, Burton’s Total Pets, Dollar Tree, Dots, Foot Locker, Gamestop, Habitat for Humanity Restore, H&R Block, How Lee Chinese Restaurant, Katsur Dental, Kmart, Mirror Image Salon, Planet Fitness (24 hours), Radio Shack, Rainbow Kids, Sally Beauty, Scoops Sports Bar, Sneaker Villa, Subway, Supernails and PA Wine & Spirits Liquor Store. On the outer perimeter of the Towne Center, you will find Applebees, a Beer Distributorship, Eat n’ Park, PNC Bank, Taco Bell and Wendy’s. The house is no more than a 15 minute drive from great attractions such as The Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium. To the south, Kennywood Amusement Park, Sandcastle Water Park and The Waterfront Mall are about 4.0 miles, 11 minutes. The entrance ramp to 376 East and West (also known as "The Parkway"), is located 0.3 miles from the house, at the end of the street. Squirrel Hill is 2.5 miles or about 9 minutes from the house, which is 6 miles or 13 minutes from Oakland, and 7.5 miles or 20 minutes from Downtown Pittsburgh and the Cultural District. Public transportation to all points can be reached within a short distance of the house. Nearby is a Park & Ride, as well as a main stop on the East Busway bus route. Your hostess and proprietor, Kate will help you with all your transportation information needs. Negotiable: For guests who are interested in long stays we will offer special rates and negotiate on price depending on the season, demand, and availability. Guest AccessOur guests have access not only to their well-appointed rooms, but to the entry foyer with its Baldwin baby grand piano and scads of music of all genres. The living room contains a writing desk, as well as comfy seating areas. Books and games are available for the asking. The dining room is also available, if a project requires more "spread out" space. Directly outside the living and dining room is a covered porch with comfortable seating. And, around the property are multiple seating areas, whether overlooking the fish pond or the one acre gardens, in the back yard. WiFi is available in all these locations. Interaction with GuestsWe will interact with you as much or as little as you desire. I live on-site, and I am always only a phone call away, if our guests have a question or a need.

The SpaceHello, and thanks for looking at my post! I have a 1 bedroom apartment with an extra bed in the living room. I would describe my apartment in the following way; there is the bedroom, living room, a small kitchenette, and a bathroom. You have to go into the bedroom to access the bathroom and there is a 2 seat table and chairs in the living room as there is no dining room. There is a small entry hallway with closet. I now also have a TV and DVD player and couch in the living room (a little nicer than the photos now) It's in a nice building and good location. I also have wireless internet. You will have use of the kitchen. There is also a coin laundry in the basement (75 cents for a wash and 50 for a dry). This would be a great place to stay for a visiting international student, medical resident, business professional, job interview, or even tourist. There is no smoking or pets allowed in the apartment. Now I'm sure your pet is the smartest, cutest, smallest, friendliest, most well trained one I would ever meet, but they still can't stay, sorry. I maintain a drug free environment. Do not use or bring drugs of any kind onto the property or any other illegal items or activities. Please remove your shoes upon entering the apartment. You are not permitted to run a business out of the apartment. This apartment is listed as "entire apartment/house for rent" because I plan on renting it mostly when I am out of town. Please email in advance to see if I will be out of town or not (I'm away frequently) during your desired stay. If I am out of town and you are there by yourself then it is the listed rate. If I am here and you are okay with sharing the apartment then I give a special offer of $20/night discount. Please try to make your reservation requests at least a few days in advance. I often can't take last minute reservations. I also usually don't take reservations for less than 2 nights. Please email me for rates for more than 1 person. I do not want any of my airbnb guests bringing in other visitors to the apartment who are not on the reservation. Please do not make reservations for 3rd parties who are not airbnb users (unless they are your companion and you are staying with them). As this is my home I'd like to know who is wanting to stay. Please have a profile with real picture(s) and a description of yourself (especially if you don't have any reviews yet), and please contact me first before making a reservation. I understand if you're new to airbnb and don't have many reviews yet ... but if you don't have a photo, use your real name, or put an effort into making a profile/description of yourself then I'm probably not going to have you as a guest. Since I live here and it's not an investment property I will have my things in the closets and drawers. I will however clear out the one closets for you to use as well as one of the drawers in the chest of drawers. Feel free to use the fridge and freezer as well as any dishes, utensils you might need. (if you cook please turn on the fan and be mindful of the smoke detector on the ceiling of the bedroom - if it does go off it is loud but will reset in 5-10 min). Feel free to use desk, table, and so on; please make yourself at home. There is radio on my dresser that you may use as well. I have it set to NPR/BBC but you may change the channel if you wish. The only thing that I ask you don't use is the fireplace as the flue does not stay open. Thanks again for looking at my post and I look forward to hearing from you! Interaction with GuestsDepends on preferences of the guest, and if I am here. The Neighborhoodshort walk to restaurants, stores, transportation Getting AroundThe transportation for getting to CMU, University of Pittsburgh and downtown is excellent. To get here from the airport you have several options. A yellow cab will cost about $50 + tip in normal traffic conditions. Alternatively, there is the super shuttle which costs about $35 if you look on their site. If I'm free I can pick you up from the airport for $30, and I will meet you at the baggage claim. You can also take the 28X and get off at the 5th Ave at Morewood Ave. which is exactly 1.25 miles from my place. The cost of the bus is $3.75 and exact fare is required. Furthermore, you can take any of the busses from this stop that are going up 5th Ave to South Highland Ave. and that will put you within a few blocks of my place. You'll have to pay again for the 2nd bus ($2.50 I think).
