We experience average hi temps in the summer of 80 degrees and lows of 55 f. In the winter, we get lots of snow and the temps range from highs in the 40s and lows are below freezing. The Kaibab is the largest stand of Ponderosa pine forest in the world! There are many lakes in the forest, perfect for a day of fishing or kayaking, and the hiking opportunities abound! The SpaceThe Ridge House is a little taste of the "Old" West and is located on the open range of the largest continuous Ponderosa forest in the US (probably the world). Cattle, coyotes, jackrabbits, elk & deer sometimes roam across the property. Pictures are okay but don't get close. Best policy: Leave them alone. The acreage is fenced on 3 sides for privacy. Pets are acceptable if under control. Guest AccessOur 2 acres & the surrounding areas are yours to explore, but don't cross our neighbors' properties. Neighborhood dogs run loose; don't assume they're friendly. It's best if you keep any of your pets on a leash. Interaction with GuestsFeel free to contact me at the phone number listed in the cottage with any questions you may have. I'm at the Main House most of the time. We have limo & car rental available at an additional price. The NeighborhoodEveryone in the neighborhood has at least an acre of property. Many lots are still open. However, do not wander across homesteaded properties. Williams is less than 15 minutes away. There are many restaurants in town as well as many souvenir shops & a cowboy shoot-out every night during the summer. Other famous Arizona sites are within a 3 hour drive from the Ridge House, for example Meteor Crater is about 2 hours away. Getting AroundThere is parking availbable in front of theRidge House. There is no public transportation, but taxi service & car rentals are available in Williams. There are also several tour companies that will book great sight-seeing trips in the area. Other Things to NoteRemember: we're located in the mountains. It's almost always windy & it can get cold especially after sundown. So, bring some warm clothing, a windbreaker, & rain gear, as well as summer clothes.
