The SpaceA large, nice and clean double bedroom (you can actually walk around the kingsize bed!) in a HOUSE, in Wimbledon/Southfields in LONDON (Zone 3 tube travelcard). There's a TV and tea/coffee facilities in the room, and you're welcome to use the kitchen to "heat and eat" (microwave, kettle, toaster). There is space in the fridge and cupboards for your food. Breakfasting in the kitchen finishes by 9am, evening use until 9pm. SMOKING is OK in the beautiful, peaceful GARDEN. A great place to base yourself while sightseeing, or if you're working in "London Town"! Due to practical issues, this house will best suit those who are "out and about" with plans during the day and I do not host anyone under the age of 10 years. Please read the information and House Rules. Check in is 2pm - 8pm, check out 11am. On Sundays check in is 5pm - 8pm, check out 11am. For later check ins, please ask and I will try to accommodate you. Guest AccessBedroom, garden, kitchen as described, shared bathroom with shower. It retains all the charm of the original features combined with modern facilities, as a result of an architect-designed rear ground floor and loft extension. Your double loft room room takes up the whole of our second floor, offering complete privacy during your stay. The bathroom is completely private and accessible from within the bedroom. Towels and bathroom toiletries are provided. There is a very comfortable king size bed and plenty of wardrobe space. The room has black-out blinds on all windows, to enable you to sleep undisturbed by the early morning light. There is also a SMART TV and HiFi and plenty of sockets, for charging your own devices. You will have access to our fast Broadband provider. Guest AccessBreakfast is served in the extended kitchen/dining room, overlooking the garden. If you prefer, you can take your breakfast on the terrace. At the end of the day, if you fancy relaxing after a day of sightseeing, you are welcome to relax in the garden or flop on the sofa, in the kitchen/dining area. Although there is no tea/coffee making facility in your room, you're encouraged to use this area to have a cup of tea, coffee, or help yourself to filtered water, juice and fresh fruit. Arrival time is from 2pm and departure is midday. However I can be flexible, depending on previous and subsequent guests. Interaction with GuestsI am based from home, so will prepare your breakfast fresh each day. This includes: a selection of cereals, juice, yoghurt, cheese, ham, toast, jams and fresh fruit. I'll also prepare eggs "any way you want them". If you don't fancy fresh coffee, there is also a selection of teas and infusions. I will also offer any advice you may need, to help with your plans for the day. The NeighborhoodI am happy to provide suggestions for places to visit in Wimbledon or around London. There are also many good local restaurants, bars and pubs for you to choose from, catering for every budget - so happy to provide recommendations. If you fancy catching a film, Wimbledon has two cinemas and a highly regarded theatre. I was born in Wimbledon, so I not only know London and the local area very well, but have a keen interest in the history of London. You also have a selection of reference books about London in your room, for information. If you like walking or jogging, there are plenty of routes around Wimbledon Village, the Common and Wimbledon Park. Wimbledon Common golf club offers access for day visitors. There are also a couple of pay-as-you-go gyms, nearby, if that is of interest. Wimbledon Tennis is a 20-25 minute walk from the house. If you are planning to queue for day tickets, I can make arrangements for an earlier breakfast. The River Thames and many other beauty spots are also accessible by public transport. Getting AroundLocated in Zone 3, 17 minutes by train from the centre of London. Once I know your arrival airport, I can help you work out the easiest route. The house is about a 10 minute walk from Wimbledon station. If you have luggage, a local bus will take around 15-20 minutes (depending on the traffic) or there is a taxi rank. Street parking is available, via daily council permits. We keep a stock for visitors and the cost is £2.50 per day, payable locally. Other Things to NoteThe house has fast Broadband and is wifi throughout. There is chilled filtered water available in your room. I will ask before you arrive whether you have any specific dietary needs for breakfast. If you're coming for Wimbledon tennis and planning to queue early for a ground pass, I can prepare a picnic breakfast the night before, so that you can get out and into the queue as soon as possible. There are no pets.

When you stay with me this is your home for the length of your stay, so please treat it with respect. (If anything is broken or damaged I will charge you for it.) This is a cosy bedroom which has a unique fitted wardrobe, designed by myself (hence the "Quirky" bit!) and can accommodate two guests comfortably. Guests are treated to very comfy pocket-sprung beds, as well as fresh towels and linen. There's Wi-Fi internet and the room has a TV with Freeview channels. Help-yourself breakfast, if wished, is included in the price. You are also welcome to use the kitchen - as long as you tidy up after! I also have a lovely big garden and a summerhouse, which is also listed as a fun option to stay in. Wimbledon is a charming and peaceful area, but also has it's own buzz of activity, offering a variety of artistic and culinary choices to add to your visit. The SpaceThis is a one bedroom flat comprising entry hall, kitchen, bathroom (with shower), sitting room, bedroom and small balcony. It is located between Southfields and Wimbledon Village. The closest tube station is Southfields; there are also excellent overground train connections to UK wide destinations available from Clapham Junction which is 10-15 minutes away by bus or taxi. The flat was built in the mid 1950's and is on an estate of similar properties. The area of Southfields village is a few minutes walk down the hill with many shops (several grocery stores), bars, restaurants and independent retailers. The rear of the flat looks towards south London with a clear view towards Crystal Palace. Immediately behind the flat on the ground floor is a small school for young children and just beyond that the All England Tennis Club; in fact Wimbledon tennis is just a few minutes walk away and the lovely area of Wimbledon Village and the vast expanse of Wimbledon Common are likewise walkable or a bus if you feel like taking it easy. Wimbledon Village is a must-see area for those wishing to enjoy the 'village' like atmosphere that so many parts of London still have. The 'village' has a myriad of excellent shops, bars, restaurants and quaint streets. If you wish more mainstream shopping then a good alternative to Oxford Street is the Centre Court shopping centre in Wimbledon Town itself...another 10 mins from the village and where you will find the usual UK high street shops and brands...along with cinemas and the Wimbledon Theatre where many large shows tour from the West End. The centre of London is very easily reached by connections from Southfields to Embankment on the tube...20 to 30 mins depending on time of day. The flat itself is bright and (URL HIDDEN) is a home...your home-away-from home...you will find books on the shelves and pictures on the walls that reflect the personality of the owner. There is great storage space...loads of linens and towels and plates, dishes...all the things you will need. The kitchen is fully equipped (with the exception of a tumble dryer...but clothes can be hung to dry and racks are provided), with washing machine, hob, oven, fridge freezer, steam iron/board etc. The bedroom has a large King size bed. Guest AccessThe whole flat: all the rooms...there is high-speed Wi-Fi...large screen TV with Chromecast, hi-fi...most of what you need to feel at home and make a stay comfortable... Interaction with GuestsIf my schedule permits, I meet guests on the first day and have picked them up from the tube before now if I am able to do that. I show them round the apartment, make sure they understand everything and are comfortable...and all guests get my mobile to contact me if there are any issues. If I am not available, another member of my family/friends will look after them and they will have their number as an emergency contact. The NeighborhoodWimbledon and Southfields are great: friendly, villagey feels but with great ease of access to the West End. Getting AroundLoads of it...buses...tubes...overground train services... Other Things to NoteEarliest check-in time is 10am, latest check-in is 8pm. Check- out time is 11am. No children under the age of 10 please.

Peaceful provinces This is the urban dream. To escape the city and seek a place where kids can be carefree. Somewhere that you can soothe your soul in a sunny spot. Such is the yearning that drives city dwellers southwards to Wimbledon, a quieter corner of London’s domain. And in this family home, peppered with artefacts from far-flung reaches, you’ll have discovered your very own sanctuary. Rest easy The little ones - thanks to peerless childproofing and provisions - are sorted, and playing under the quieting gaze of a benevolent Buddha. From the moment you open the door into the first sun-soaked room, and from that room into another, and then another, a sense of calm unfolds. It’s a different world indeed from the grunt and grind of city life. Exotic contemplations The Victorians knew their interiors. As you journey through you’ll see high, embellished ceilings, creaking floorboards and original tiles… And of course huge, sash windows with light streaming in. Maybe it’s what you were expecting. We are in the genteel neighbourhood of lawn tennis and strawberries and cream, after all. Or are we? Stop to unwind in the conservatory – all bare-brick walls, cool white tiles and dappled rays – and you might think you were a far cry from Wimbledon. Let your mind drift on that. Silk route reveries Threaded throughout with foreign treasures, from niche-dwelling figures to jewel-coloured wall hangings, this home is a tapestry that tells of a deep love and respect for a world beyond. And no wonder - our hostess has worked and travelled extensively, from Nepal and Papua New Guinea to the Dark Continent. So whether you plump for lounging on the sofa, or pull up an embroidered cushion by the fire, this place will rouse your sense of wonder. Even as you doze off after a long day. And if you rise from your slumber itching to go out and explore, you’re in luck. We may be out in one of the city’s further pockets, but the road to its heart is fast-paced. Wimbledon Park and Wimbledon Common are but a short jaunt away, while you can arrive in central London – door to the world itself – within half an hour. Additional amenities include: iron & ironing board, hob, toiletries, coffee machine, cafetiere, music player, hairdryer, onefinestay iphone. Cancellation Policy No-quibble cool-off period. Provided you book more than seven days before the start of your stay, you can cancel your booking no questions asked within 24 hours of making it, and we will refund 100% of any charges. Early cancellation. If you cancel at least 2 weeks before you are due to arrive, we will charge you 50% of the cost of your stay. Late cancellation. We’ll be as flexible as we can if you need to cancel. However, once you’re within two weeks of the start of your stay, we can’t refund your booking. If you have any immediate questions, please contact us directly. Peaceful provinces This is the urban dream. To escape the city and seek a place where kids can be carefree.
