Stroll into the courtyard and find the stone, cut over a 1000 years ago, part of a mullioned window of Hyde Abbey, the resting place of King Alfred The Great whose bones are now thought to be buried in the local churchyard of St Bartholomew's. The Cottage is in a quiet street with just a short walk to the centre of Winchester with its award winning restaurants and pubs, nestled around the oldest High Street in England. Close by you have the Cathedral and beautiful walks through the Water Meadows where Keats was inspired to write 'Ode to Autumn. Even nearer are two great pubs, The Hyde Tavern and Mucky Duck, and you are only 3 minutes away from the train station with fours trains an hour to London Waterloo. You also have the Theatre Royal and the Discovery Centre right on your doorstep as well and more fantastic walks around the Winnall Moors nature reserve.     Hardy House is a wing of an attractive Victorian mansion, close to the park overlooking Winchester. We completely renovated our house in 2013, and added a modern extension designed by an award-winning architect. The house has typically Victorian high ceilings, large windows and is very light. Our small (11.5 sq ft) but well equipped guest double bedroom has an en suite bathroom containing a double power-shower. There is digital TV and internet in the bedroom.
 The kitchen/dining room has a high ceiling with exposed oak beams, and a family-sized pine breakfast table. Outside is a small, south-facing garden, where breakfast can be taken in fine weather. There is parking on the road outside.

    Bed types King, Twin, Single Property conditions No Pets Terms Terms and Conditions (Guests) When you make a booking, your contract, which includes these terms and conditions, will be with the owner of the property. References herein to "we", "us" and "The Company" means A,D8 UK Limited and to the rights and obligations of A,D8 UK Limited on behalf of the Owner of the property as the agent of that Owner. For the avoidance of doubt the rights and duties set out herein are those of the Owner through A,D8 UK Limited. A,D8 UK Limited is not a party to this contract. "You" "client" "guest" means the party making the booking. Availability: The properties are available for rent throughout the year unless already let. The properties are let as fully furnished holiday homes and may not be used for any business purposes or sublet or assigned in any way. Bed linen and towels are provided. Liability: Whilst every care has been taken to ensure that the properties are safe and secure we accept no responsibility for theft/loss or damage to your belongings or for death or any personal injury or for any other loss including consequential loss whatsoever to a member of your party or anyone else, however caused during your stay or at all. Terms: All prices are per night for the holiday home as equipped and described. The usual time for take over is 15:30 (subject to unavoidable delays). You must leave your holiday home by 10:30 on the day of departure and you are expected to leave everything in a clean and tidy condition. You are responsible for the security of the property and for any damage incurred or loss sustained during your stay. The inventory for the accommodation (which is available for you to inspect on request) is checked at the end of each rental period and any losses/damage incurred will be pursued. With final payment we require a 20% deposit against excess housekeeping and breakages, fully returnable usually within fourteen days of departure. We reserve the right to refuse any holiday booking application. Rental period: All bookings run from 15.30 arrival (subject to unavoidable delays) to 10.30 departure. Reservation Deposit: For holidays of 7 days or more a minimum booking deposit of 30% of the total cost is required to secure the booking. For holidays of less than 7 days, full payment is required to secure your dates. If you have to cancel your holiday for any reason this deposit is non-refundable and we therefore strongly advise you to take out your own holiday/cancellation insurance for your own benefit. Booking confirmation and balance of payment: The submission of the completed booking form shall constitute an offer by the client and a contract shall come into existence when the booking has been accepted in writing and a receipt for the deposit has been issued. Upon receipt of your booking form and deposit we will confirm the booking electronically and an invoice and statement of account will be sent to you with this confirmation, requesting the balance of payment two months before your arrival date. Pay Pal transaction charges are the guests responsibility and will be deducted from the damages deposit. You will not receive any further correspondence from us until we receive your balance of payment after which you will be sent final confirmation and arrangements for key collection. If we do not receive your balance payment by the due date we reserve the right to re-let the accommodation. Any bookings made within two months of the holiday start date must be paid for in full at the time of booking. If the booking is made later than one week before your holiday date (i.e. the booking having been made provisionally by telephone, say the day before) we insist that full payment is made with cleared funds prior to arrival. Pets: Not accepted except as specifically agreed with the Owner in writing - this excludes service dogs. Car Parking: The parking arrangements for each property are given on the website; most have a private parking space or spaces; some have on road parking permits; there are pubic car parks within a few minutes walk. Where a parking permit is provided this must be returned at the end of the rental period. You will be advised where you can park your car/s and we will not be responsible for any parking tickets you may receive for not adhering to the requirements of the permit or parking space. Cancellation: a) By you. Notice of cancellation must be received in writing. Deposit payments are non-refundable. Balance payments will be refunded up to two months prior to your holiday start date. If you cancel your holiday within two months of the start date and we are unable to re-let the accommodation the full balance is still due. For the avoidance of doubt, other than as above, we shall have no further liability to you for any changes to or the cancellation of any holiday. b) If the Owner is obliged to cancel for any reason then a full refund will be made immediately without any further claim being made by you or your representatives against us. We are at your disposal to locate an alternative property in such circumstances. Your party: This booking has been entered into on the understanding that the total number in your party shall in no circumstances exceed the number on your booking form. Rentals will be terminated at our own discretion, if in our opinion any person behaves in a way prejudicial to the well being of others, and in such circumstances we will re-take possession of the accommodation immediately. The person signing the booking form must be at least 18 years of age and takes full responsibility for all members of his/her party. Owner's rights: We reserve the right to enter the accommodation for the purposes of urgent repairs or maintenance at any time. We cannot take responsibility for any matter outside our control, i.e. damage, injury, delays, or loss, in connection with your holiday arising directly or indirectly from mechanical or electrical breakdown, inclement weather, flood, fire, temporary invasion of pests or any other Act of God, war, farming or building activities, acts of local or central Government, or for nuisance caused on neighbouring properties. Complaints: Every effort has been made to ensure that you have an enjoyable and memorable holiday. If, however, you have any cause for complaint the Owner and the Company are anxious that remedial action is taken as soon as possible. All complaints must be notified to us within 48 hours and we will investigate and attend to them immediately. If we are unable to resolve any issue to our mutual satisfaction you should send a written complaint through us to the Owner. Law and Jurisdiction: This contract shall be governed by English Law and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts for any issue arising. Miscellaneous charges/fees: Most properties come with a generous broadband package. Some come with pay to view TV. Any excess broadband usage over the limit of the package and any unpaid pay to view fees will be charged to you and deducted from your deposit. The broadband allowances are available upon request. Loss incurred by us in replacing missing parking permits will also be deducted from the deposit. Fuel Surcharge: Due to the current unpredictability of utility costs we reserve the right to introduce a ‘Fuel Surcharge’ per property if our utility costs increase by more than 20% over the 2012 period. Inclusive Heating and Electricity Costs: The all inclusive costs are based on ‘reasonable’ usage of heating and electricity that conform to our environmental policy. All ‘reasonable’ use of Heating and Electricity is therefore included within the cost of your accommodation. In line with our environmental policy we monitor and record the usage of both heating and electricity. We reserve the right to charge for ‘unreasonable’ usage. Charges will be made at the current oil, gas and electricity prices plus a £10 administration fee. An example of ‘unreasonable’ would be where a guest has turned the heating up to a higher than programmed setting and then gone out for the day, or has the heating set to a higher than programmed setting throughout the night. We appreciate that some people 'feel' the cold more than others and we do try to be as flexible as possible and accommodate everyone. However, with the current high cost of oil and electricity we are now forced into a position where we have to charge guests an additional 'fuel supplement' if they require the heating system set higher or 'On' for longer than is set by our environmental policy. If you do wish us to make adjustments to the heating please contact us to discuss costs. The city centre is close at hand with its wide range of shops and excellent range of cultural and facilities together with the mainline railway station on the Waterloo line. On the eastern and southern outskirts there is access onto the M3 motorway providing communications to all parts of the country. City centre and mainline railway station (London, Waterloo from 57 minutes) 0.5 mile From West End Terrace there are steps up to a paved path leading to the apartment's private front door and beyond to the raised porch entrance of the main house. The Annexe occupies one entire level of this elegant, mid 19th century 6 level town house, providing an open plan living reception room (kitchen/dining/sitting), a double bedroom with adjoining shower room and a pretty little terraced/patio garden to the right of the front door. This elegant semi-detached townhouse is understood to have been built in about 1855 and between 1931 and 1951 it is understood that it formed part of St Catherine’s School, a small primary school for girls and boys. The house was then reverted back to an independent residence and has remained as such until the present day. There are elegant high ceilings in the apartment and the accommodation it is well proportioned and laid out. The property has been well maintained by the present owners and recent improvements over the years have included the complete refurbishment of the annexe apartment.     The SpaceA spacious one bedroom city centre maisonette with off street parking space, situated a few hundred yards from the River Itchen and the bottom of the High Street. Offering spacious accommodation for 2+1 on 2 floors (with a north facing balcony) along Spanish and Dutch furnishing influences. Completely refurbished in March 2012 kitchen, wood flooring and carpets, bathroom and bedroom central heating wifi,TV, etc. We do not provide a welcome pack as we found these items are often little or not used and once opened for health and safety reasons they have to be thrown away. Luckily a shop is just across the road for you to purchase everything you needed for a cup of tea after your journey. The location is very central but with that comes traffic noise. Parking for a small car is possible - if you have a large car - let us know and we will see what we can do.

Rustic, boat like appearance from the outside, clean modern appearance inside with all you need for a pleasant, warm, comfortable stay. The building is new and very modern and provides a brilliant and unique place to stay. Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway, a base to explore the City and surrounding areas, or somewhere to stay whilst working or studying in Winchester, this provides the perfect solution. The room is very well equipped. The wet room comprises shower, toilet, handbasin and mirror. The kitchenette has a worktop, sink, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge and a full set of crockery, cutlery and cooking dishes/utensils. We have a small selection of CDs and DVDs available and there is hanging space for clothes and storage space for other items. There is underfloor heating which keeps the room very warm even on the coldest of days and can be adjusted to suit your needs. There is even a relaxing and romantic multi-coloured lighting system. Guest AccessPrivate access through the garden. You are completely self contained with your own key to access the property. You can come and go as you please. Interaction with GuestsAs much or as little as you wish! There is private access so you can be perfectly independent and self sufficient. There will be a continental breakfast in your room when you arrive. This normally includes pastries, cereals, milk, bread, juice and yoghurts. This can be varied on request. The NeighborhoodWe live on a quiet road with a large green space on our road with lots of mature trees. We have a large garden which guests are welcome to enjoy. There is also a private seating area with table. Getting AroundBus stops are within 50 metres and there is a service to the City Centre every 10 minutes. Walking to the City Centre takes 25 minutes, 10 minutes to cycle. The train station is a similar distance.     The SpaceThe House is owned by a designer and is finished to a high quality. It's chic, calm and feminine, decorated to a high standard with creativity. There is normally a project on the go and toys around but the rooms offered will be well presented and clean. My home will most likely to suit somebody wanting to stay in Winchester for work as it will feel homely and restful, a 'home from home'. I have two rooms available; a double at £55 single occupancy, £65 for two persons and a single room at £45/person. Guest AccessLiving spaces and garden. Guests can also use the kitchen by arrangement for something like tea and toast if they provide their own. There's an outside table and chairs in the garden and guests are welcome to make themselves at home. Interaction with GuestsAs little or as much as they wish. If they want to join me and my son in the living space they are welcome to. Obviously their room is their own private space for the stay. We welcome meeting new people and my three year old is very sociable and excited about having people to stay. The NeighborhoodLovely quiet location in the heart of the city with close proximity to the buzz of town with the Discovery Centre, Theatre Royal, cafes, bars and restaurants all very close by. Getting AroundThe train station and taxi rank is 5 minutes walk and there is a bus stop 15 meters from the door step. Tower Street carpark is also close by. There is a bus station in the town centre which is 10 minutes walk. Other Things to NoteThere is stair gate at the top of the stairs which could be difficult to negoaciate for the elderly or infirm. Whilst the bathroom is shared I am mindful not to mix guests from different parties without agreement. For example if you have booked the double I will keep the single free.

Master bedroom contains a double bed, bedroom 2 contains twin beds (that can be made into a superking) with the lounge containing a double sofa bed enabling a maximum of 6 guests to stay. The annexe benefits from gas central heating with underfloor heating in the kitchen both of which is controlled by the guests. Fully double glazed and newly furnished and decorated. The kitchen contains integrated appliances: washing machine, dish washer, fridge, freezer, gas oven with electric grill, gas hob and extractor hood. Electrical equipment includes combination microwave (oven, grill & microwave), kettle, toaster, Tassimo coffee machine, sandwich toaster, radio and iPod docking station. Both bedrooms, lounge and gymnasium have TVs and free WiFi access. The lounge and downstairs bedroom also benefit from DVD players. Guest AccessHot Tub, Gymnasium, Table Tennis, Swing Ball, Secluded Gardens, BBQ's & Parking: The hot tub is heated constantly to 38 degrees and is available for guests to use from April to September between 11am and 8pm. Only children over 12 years of age are permitted to use the hot tub and must be supervised by an adult at all times. Proof of age may be required. All guests using the hot tub are required to shower before use with soap and water. The gymnasium contains a cross trainer, running machine, exercise bike, rowing machine and weights. Interaction with GuestsThe annexe is completely self contained, however it does adjoin our family home. Guests have use of the gardens, off road parking, hot tub (from April - September) gymnasium, table tennis, swing ball and BBQ's. The NeighborhoodWithin 5 minutes walking distance there are local convenience stores, newsagent, pharmacist, coffee bar, restaurant and takeaways, which include Fish & Chips, Chinese, Kebabs & Burgers and an Indian restaurant & takeaway. Winchester train station is approximately 10-15 minutes walk. Winchester town centre and theatre is approximately a 15-20 minute walk. There are a couple of parks for children and pleasant scenic public walks around a local farm situated at the end of the road. Local pubs are within a 10 minute walk and offer food at very reasonable prices or facility to order takeaways and eat-in at pub. Getting AroundWinchester train station is 10-15 minutes walk. Bus stop is 5 minutes walk with buses running regularly throughout the day. Visitors are not permitted to use facilities such as the gymnasium and neither are they permitted to stay overnight. Your Obligations You agree to keep and leave the Property and the furnishing, kitchen equipment, crockery, glasses, bedding and towels clean and in good condition. You agree not to cause any damage to the walls, doors or windows of the Property nor to do anything that may be reasonably considered to cause a nuisance or annoyance to us or to any other occupier of neighbouring properties. You agree to take all necessary steps to safeguard your personal property. No liability to you is accepted in respect of damage to or loss of such property. You agree to ensure that each member of your party is covered by comprehensive travel insurance (including cancellation, flight delays, loss and damage to baggage and other property) and health insurance (including evacuation and repatriation coverage). You cannot allow more people to stay in the property than expressly authorised (ie 2 persons per bedroom), nor can you change the makeup of the party during your stay in the Property (ie. only those explicitly named at time of booking are permitted to enter and stay in the property), nor can you have visitors unless agreed in advance with the owners of Winchester Holiday Lets, nor can you take your pet into the Property unless it has been arranged in advance and it is shown on your confirmation. If you do so, we can refuse to hand over the Property to you, or can require you to leave it. We will treat any of these circumstances as a cancellation of the booking by you. You cannot allow visitors to enter the Property without prior written agreement of the Property Owner. Visitors are not permitted to use facilities such as the hot tub and gymnasium and neither are they permitted to stay overnight. Where you do have prior written agreement from the Property Owner to have visitors, then visitors must leave the Property by 11pm latest. You agree to ensure that each member of your party showers with soap and water (not shower gel) before using the hot tub. Failure to shower before using the hot tub will cause the water to turn cloudy and may result in the damage deposit being retained to contribute to the cost of emptying, cleaning and refilling the hot tub. You agree to abide by the specified hours (open and closing times) for using the gymnasium and hot tub, as set out in any property manual (Welcome Pack) at the Property. You agree to ensure that children under the age of 12 do not use either the hot tub or gymnasium and that children under the age of 18 are supervised by an adult at all times whilst using the hot tub or gymnasium. You agree to ensure that each member of the party observes all safety rules, as set out in any property manual (Welcome Pack) at the Property, when using the hot tub or gymnasium. You agree to allow us or any representative of ours access at any reasonable time during your stay for the purpose of essential repairs, maintenance or inspection. No Smoking Policy We operate a strict "No Smoking Policy" at Weeke End Annexe. Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the holiday accommodation or near to building. Complaints Every effort has been made to ensure that you have an enjoyable and memorable holiday. If however, you have any cause for complaint it is important that remedial action is taken as soon as possible. It is essential that you contact us if any problem arises so that it can be speedily resolved. It is often extremely difficult (and sometimes impossible) to resolve difficulties properly unless we are promptly notified. Discussions of any criticisms with us whilst you are in residence will usually enable shortcomings to be rectified straightaway. In particular, complaints of a transient nature (for example, regarding preparation or heating of the Property) cannot possibly be investigated unless registered whilst you are in residence. If any complaint cannot be resolved during your holiday, you must write to us with full details within 28 days of the end of it. Breakage or Damage For the benefit of the next clients staying in the house, please advise us of any breakage or damage that occurs during your stay. We do not charge for breakages or damage which occur as a result of normal use, but reserve the right to demand payment for damage or breakages which occur as a result of careless, reckless or deliberate misuse. Care of Property The Client shall take reasonable and proper care of the property, its furniture, pictures, fittings and effects in or on the property and leave them in the same clean and tidy condition and state of repair at the end of the letting period as at the beginning. Pets We are unable to accommodate pets, with the sole exception of guide dogs. Liability The Owners are not liable for any loss or damage to any client's property or any property belonging to a member of the client's party howsoever caused. The client or members of his/her party cannot hold the owners of Winchester Holiday Lets liable for any personal injury/death howsoever sustained where the owners and/or their employees have used reasonable skill and care; and/or where caused by the fault of the person(s) affected or any member(s) of their party (including inadequate supervision of children); and/or where caused by the fault of a third party, and/or where caused by an event that could not have been reasonably foreseen or avoided.     The SpaceAttic room with sloping ceilings available in family house on a quiet residential street. We live in a semi-detached Edwardian house and are very well situated next to the park and approximately fifteen or so minutes' walk to the station and town centre. We are a creative household where lots of craft and making happens, and lots of interesting things to look at. If you like a manicured house this won't suit you, it is a well used comfortable house. This is an artist's house, who works in a studio in the garden. The room itself can accommodate 3 people. Set in the loft, it has a double and a single bed, with beautiful views over the allotments. We offer simple continental breakfast and sometimes ask you to help yourself. This is a family house, and is well lived in, not smart but comfortable. We offer a shared bathroom, kitchen, dining room and living room. A long garden leads down to the allotments at the back of the house, with plenty of room for outdoor dining when the weather suits. We are within a few minutes' walking distance of some atmospheric cosy local pubs, lovely walks along the river and the leisure centre with swimming pool and gym. Winchester is a beautiful historic town which is easy to walk around with specialist shops and farmers' market every alternate Sunday. Usual facilities such as Wi-Fi, washing machine and shared TV are all available on request. We are a creative household; as you can see from the photos our house is a testament to this!     The SpaceA comfortable bed in a warm house in the middle of an ancient city. There is a kettle and tea and coffee making facilities in the room and l prefer guests to eat in the bedroom where a table and chairs are provided. I'm sorry, I don't offer breakfast but there are loads of places nearby offering delicious options and I'm happy to advise! But don't forget, an attic is up two flights of stairs so if you have heavy suitcases its a long haul! And l don't have porterage...! Also, being in the roof space it can be cold in the winter and hot in the summer. The NeighborhoodWinchester is a beautiful city. My home is walking distance from the Cathedral, Great Hall and local museums. But I'm also close to beautiful walks, by the river and in the local nature reserve. And to top it all, the shops are really close too. Getting AroundThe house is walking distance to both train and bus stations. Parking in Winchester is difficult but l do have a parking permit that you can use. But please mention when you book if you're likely to need the permit because it's not always available Other Things to NoteI'm afraid I think life's too short to iron bedding so things might look a bit crumpled! But be assured, they are clean! (could also be said for me!). My lower prices for extended stay are based on the assumption that you would make your own breakfast and other meals. There would be space in kitchen cupboards and the fridge for you to use. There is a kettle, TV and hairdryer in the room and wifi access. Of course l supply towels.

      Hardy House is a wing of an attractive Victorian mansion, 40 metres from the park overlooking the beautiful city of Winchester. We completely renovated our house in 2013, and added a modern extension designed by an award-winning architect. The house has typically Victorian high ceilings, large windows and is very light. Our guest double bedroom has an en suite bathroom with double power shower. The bedroom is equipped with digital TV, and internet. The dining room where breakfast is served has a high ceiling with exposed oak beams, and a family-sized pine breakfast table. Outside is a small, south-facing garden, where breakfast can be taken in fine weather. There is parking available on the private road outside. Set near the edge of the park and the Winchester viewpoint, our house is a five-minute walk down 120 steps through the park to the medieval city centre. 
The Black Rat and The Chesil Rectory (both Michelin starred), Rick Stein, River Cottage Canteen, and the famous Black Boy pub are all within walking distance. We are close to South Downs Way (we welcome cyclists: bicycles can be locked up overnight) and a five-minute drive into unspoilt countryside. Our house is convenient for The Guildhall (for weddings), St Swithun's School (5 minutes walk), Winchester College, and a range of museums. What makes us unique? The attractive park is a few steps away and you can walk through it to reach the city centre. We are in a quiet position yet very convenient for the centre with its shops, restaurants and weekend market. Check-in between 5pm and 9pm. Check out by 11am. Breakfast between 8am and 10am to include coffee and tea, fruit juice, cereal, fruit, yogurt, toast and marmalade. Please note we have two dogs. Guests may bring one well-behaved dog (at small extra cost) but no cats please. Walk through the park to the medieval city centre with its shops and weekly market. Excellent pubs and restaurants - including two Michelin-rated restaurants - within walking distance.

      The SpaceThere are 3 apartments available in Park House, they all have one bedroom and a large comfortable sofa bed in the sitting room for extra guests, sleeping up to 4. There is a bathroom with shower, and a fully fitted kitchen area off the living room, all furnished in contemporary style. Winchester is a perfect base for a short break or a longer stay with its excellent restaurants, unusual shops, small ancient streets, historical cathedral and great hall, college, cinema and theatre to name just a few. It is an excellent base for touring the South of England and visiting London. Winchester is also a city of markets, having a wonderful christmas market and skating rink around December time, sunday markets alternate between one of the best farmer's markets in the country, a vintage market and an arts and crafts market. Park House makes a very good base for tourists, people working locally in some of the large multi-national companies such as IBM or Arquiva, lawyers working at the Law Courts, and short contract workers. The apartments are also popular with families moving house or having work done on their homes. There is off-street parking provided, a huge park and leisure centre at the end of the road, all shops and attractions just minutes walk away as is the train station and bus station. There is a sitting room and a large kitchen with a dining table suitable for 6 to sit at. Also outside table and chairs for al fresco meals on the raised terrace. All the attractions, historical cathedral, shops, bars and great restaurants are within a stone's throw! Parking is available with a parking permit provided for guests. The cottage was built in the late 19th century and has charm and character. It has a twin and a double bedroom, bathroom, large kitchen/dining room, sitting room with Smart TV. A sunny terraced garden, offers a place for relaxation with a deck for al-fresco dining. St. John's Street is one of Winchester's oldest roads, close to the city centre with all facilities within easy walking distance including bus and train stations. London is an hour away by train. Highclere Castle, the home of Downton Abbey is about 30 minutes drive from Winchester, as is Jane Austen's home at Chawton. Southampton and Portsmouth are each less than an hour's drive away, as is the perennial attraction of Stonehenge. The garden has quite steep steps, so may not be suitable for toddlers or disabled.       The Spacewe have a 3 bedroom terraced house close to the city center. it is our family home and whilst my son is away at uni i rent out his room and our spare room to guests. our house isn't the smartest but we've tried to keep the rent as low as possible so that you can enjoy a comfortable stay in a lovely location without spending too much. Guest Accessshared bathroom- this is quite big, clean and light but it is downstairs and through the kitchen at the back of the house access to kitchen- but ideally you will eat out as there are so many nice places and the kitchen can get busy at times pretty secluded garden or cozy sitting room Interaction with Guestsrichard and i work long hours and are quite often away so it may be that you have the house to yourself, are sharing it with just another air bandb guest or there could be everyone at home.. if we are here we would love to offer you a cup of tea and chat but also happy for you to entertain yourselves. hopefully you'll like our naughty little dog woody.. The Neighborhoodwe are lucky to live in a really pretty and happy place, within 15 minutes you can be walking over the beautiful st catherines hill or sitting in a cafe in the center of the city Getting Arounda taxi from the station will cost approx £5-8 as we live on the opposite side of the center.(waterloo to winchester trains take approx 1 hr and leave once an hr) our house is about a 25 minute walk from the train station. our house is about a 10 minute walk from the national express bus drop off point. we do have a parking permit for on street allocated for each room that you are welcome to borrow for the duration of your stay. Other Things to Notewe do let 2 bed rooms out to guests and occasionally my son may be here rather than richard and myself. Also, there is only one bathroom and it is downstairs- one day when I've saved enough from air bandb guests we will put a second bathroom in..! If you know that you need to be in the shower etc at a certain time it's no problem at all to make sure this is possible for you. Our house can be empty for hours and you will have complete peace, or it can be full of people who are chatting to each other or keeping to themselves- whatever is happening it's really important to me that you feel comfortable and happy in our house and able to be as you want to be. One of WInchester's best pubs, the Black Boy, is nearby and there are many excellent restaurants within a 10 minute walk. Getting AroundThere is an excellent bus which goes from Heathrow to WInchester every 90 minutes. I can collect guests from the bus stop - or it is a very short taxi ride. Other Things to NoteI have 2 double bedrooms but only let one unless the guests are known to each other. This is because the guests would have to share a bathroom.       The SpaceVery light ensuite bedroom in a modern extension of a Victorian townhouse, near the park and close to the city viewpoint. Parking included. The light and modern en suite bedroom is in a wing of an attractive Victorian mansion, close to the park overlooking the city centre. We completely renovated our house in 2013, and added a modern extension designed by an award-winning architect. The house has typically Victorian high ceilings, large windows and is very light. Our small (11.5 sq ft) but well equipped guest double bedroom has an en suite bathroom containing a double power-shower. There is digital TV and internet in the bedroom. The breakfast room has a high ceiling with exposed oak beams, and a family-sized pine breakfast table. Outside is a small, south-facing garden, where breakfast can be taken in fine weather. There is unrestricted parking outside. Breakfast is included, offering: - coffee or tea - toast and butter - marmalade and jam - cereal, yogurt and fruit - fruit juice and milk Our house is convenient for St Swithun's School, Winchester College, Pilgrims, Winchester University, The Guildhall (for weddings), and a good range of shops, restaurants and museums. Set near the Winchester viewpoint, it is a five-minute walk down (steepish) steps through the park to the medieval city centre - but 10 minutes up! Two Michelin-starred restaurants: The Black Rat and The Chesil Rectory, are a short walk away. Rick Stein and The River Cottage Canteen are also within walking distance. We are close to South Downs Way - cyclists are welcomes and bicycles can be locked up in our garage overnight. What makes us unique? The park so close and there is a lovely walk through it to reach the city centre. We are in a quiet position yet convenient for the centre with its shops, restaurants and weekend market. As hosts, we can be as available as much as you need to give you advice and information on Winchester. Double bedroom with en suite bathroom. As little or as much as the guests want. You can walk to the centre through the park from our house. Please be aware though that the direct route is via more than 100 steps - although it is also possible to take a winding path up and down through the park. It takes about five minutes to walk down but longer coming up again - unless you are very fit! Other Things to NotePlease note we have two dogs. Local shop and takeaways just around the corner so no need to go hungry. The NeighborhoodPi Pizza is a minute away and is great if you would like real wood fired pizza and has a great ambience. If you would like Chinese or Indian these are just around the corner as well as a convenience store. You really have everything you need within easy reach. Electric fan in room. I can fit in a single air-bed mattress on the floor for a 2nd person, and even squash in a third z-bed! Wifi. Sorry, no TV in room. Towels and toiletries provided. There is a wardrobe, small chest of drawers, lots of shelves and some cupboards. Tourist information and leaflet map of Winchester in room for you to take away if needed. Guest AccessShared family bathroom, which houses the one loo in the house. Tea & coffee stuff in room. No access to kitchen without prior agreement. Bike friendly! You can keep your bike in the house overnight. Interaction with GuestsWe are busy in-and-out people so we won't see much of you, but will be happy to help with information about Winchester and we will ask you what time you'd like to use the bathroom and work around your needs. The NeighborhoodWinchester is a beautiful & historical city, full of interesting things to see, lots of great restaurants, shops & large open spaces. It is quintessentially English! My street is central but very quiet as it is a no-through road so there isn't much traffic. Living in the middle of the ancient capital of England is a real privilege. If you stay with me, it is easy and convenient to find your way into town and back. I know Winchester really well so can give you plenty of advice about what to do and what to see! Getting AroundMy street is a 10-15 minute walk from the train station, 15 from the cinema, 10 from the cathedral, theatre & library, 5 minutes from the High Street, from the Tourist Information Centre, the river, the airport coaches stops and from the bus station. Other Things to NoteI have a parking permit if you need to come by car, but I'd need to hold some valuables of yours to ransom so that you don't drive off with it by mistake! Please let me know in advance if you are going to need the permit... If you need to do some laundry, you can use my washing machine for a modest fee.

My home is walking distance from the Cathedral, Great Hall and local museums. But I'm also close to beautiful walks, by the river and in the local nature reserve. And to top it all, the shops are really close too. Getting AroundI am close to the bus station and train station. Parking is more difficult in Winchester but the Park and Ride buses stop nearby. I also have a parking permit if you can find a space to park. But please mention when you book if you're likely to need the permit because it's not always available. Other Things to NoteI'm afraid I think life's too short to iron bedding so things might look a bit crumpled! But be assured, they are clean! (could also be said for me!). My lower prices for extended stay are based on the assumption that you would make your own breakfast and other meals. There would be space in kitchen cupboards and the fridge for you to use. There is a kettle, TV and hairdryer in the room and wifi access. Of course l supply towels.
