The SpaceThe room is a guest bedroom in our basement, so it usually stays pretty cool. HDTV with an Amazon Fire stick in the room, so you can stream whatever you want. The bedroom connects to a rec-room with a large TV, couches, and lots of kids toys. The bathroom connects to the rec-room and has a washer and dryer, shower, toilet, and vanity. We have phone chargers for Android and iPhone.
We live right on the river and you are welcome to use our kayaks and fishing gear, but extra cost if you damage something. It's in the security deposit.
We dont serve breakfast due to town laws, sorry! Guest AccessAccess to private bedroom, private bathroom, and common rec room. Can use kitchen if you coordinate with us. We sometimes need access to rec room and bathroom since our kids toys are down there and the laundry is in the bathroom, but we won't come down after 8 PM or before 9 AM. Interaction with GuestsWilling to give you recommendations on food, things to do etc, and also willing to give you total privacy. Whatever you're comfortable with. The NeighborhoodWe're a mile from Windsor Center which has lots of shops, CVS, etc. and one mile from a large grocery store and the freeway.
Washington park is within walking distance, about 3/4 mile. This is a smaller park with a playground, pond, picnic tables, and walking paths.
Northwest park is 11 minutes driving from our house. This is a large park with nature center, playground, hiking trails, sugarhouse (seasonal), farm animals, pond, and other amenities. Both parks are FREE to the public. Getting AroundWe are 15 minutes to Bradley Airport and 15 minutes to downtown Hartford. We are one block from a bus stop which can take you into Hartford and Union Station (buses to NYC and Boston), and about a mile from a park and ride that has a 15 minute bus ride to the airport. I take public transit daily and can help you if needed. One mile from train station to New Haven where you can catch the MetroNorth to NYC. Driving time to Boston is 1.5 hrs (dependent on traffic) and NYC is 2hrs (dependent on traffic) Other Things to NoteWe have a toddler and baby, who sometimes wake up in the night. We don't allow them to "cry it out" so the wakings are usually brief, but we just want you to be aware that it's a possibility. They usually get up early as well.
