The SpaceModern rustic secluded cabin. 1 1/2 story lofted open space. Running tap well water, heat pump/AC, wood stove. Private nature surround with working garden and exposed stone. Close to Metro North Train into NYC(20 min walk) or 3 min in car. 1 1/2 hrs north of Grand Central Station. Taxi service available to and from train. Near the Appalachian Trail, hiking, golf, skiing and nature. Appalachian trail is very near by for lots of good hiking. There is a butterfly farm around the corner. Harlem Valley Golf Course around the corner in the other direction.. good for golf or cross country.. Bike, walk, taxis can be called at any time... I bought a nice 1973, 26 foot airstream, which also sleeps 2. Nicely perched on the property, far enough away from the house. The airstream has central heating , AC, stove fridge and hot and cold water, working shower seasonally. 2 pair of snow shoes for winter, 3 bikes, croquet, bad mitten, and now building an outdoor wood sauna by spring 2016.. The Space"Meadow Cottage" is tucked back in its own private pastoral setting and is ideally situated between the towns of Kent and New Milford, with easy access to all local attractions. The cottage is beautifully furnished with a mixture of antiques and vintage pieces. There is a spacious 2-story living room, a large upper level loft bedroom and a fully equipped kitchen and dining area leading to an ultra private 19' x 10' deck. There is also a small fenced-in yard area - perfect for a small to medium-sized pet. It is 10 minutes each to the town of Kent and Metro North's Harlem Valley/Wingdale train station. Just five minutes to the Appalacian Trail and other hiking areas. Plenty of nearby skiing, fishing, dining and antiquing. The SpaceStreams and waterfalls; 2 spring-fed ponds; 1/4 mile driveway to a 35+ acre hideaway with 2-storey 1900 sq ft mid century modern house House and deck overlook sweeping lawn with magnificent weeping beech and pretty stream. A birdlover's paradise, this is a wonderful hideaway, with direct access from our land to the Appalachian Trail and the Pawling Nature reserve. The only sounds you will hear are the birds and the cicadas, and an occasional distant train. New renovation of a mid-century modern home, with decking surrounding the house and swimming pool, huge floor to ceiling windows/doors, overlooking the garden, pretty trees, stream and pond. Three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, separate office, which could be used as an additional bedroom. Kitchen/dining room. Living room with huge log fire. Outdoor swimming pool. Wonderful for kids to be able to run free in the garden and the woodlands. And only a 90 minute drive from NYC. Looking ideally for a whole month's rental for August -and also avail some weekends. Our closest neighbors are around 1/4 mile away. Lots of opportunities for walks and hikes from the house. Nearby Pawling has a pretty downtown with restaurants and shops and a great Farmer's Market in summer. Wingdale is close by but limited amenities. Kent, CT is around 20 mins away and is pleasant for a visit and for shopping/eating. Getting AroundWingdale and Pawling stations are both closeby (10 mins and 15 mins respectively) on the Metro North Line into NYC. In general we follow a leave no trace ethos and ask our guests to keep our land as clean as if it was their own. We have a no shoes policy in the house since we are yogis at heart! We ask that you refrain from smoking indoors - inclusive of the breezeway. This house is centered around spiritual lifestyle and ecologic living so pls. note we do not have a TV or microwave.       The Spaceexceptional view of the River!!!! Bulls Bridge and AT trail head less than 1/2 mile away.. Wonderful place to relax and get away from it all. Path down to the river with a short climb down a few rock to be able to rock hop and dip in the the many pools. (sneakers or good water shoes should be worn on the rocks) please bring your own towel for sitting on the rocks. Interaction with GuestsHosts home is on same property but the cabin is over a foot bridge and private. You can be as private as you like, or come on over and visit with us. Beyond the farm's pond, one can follow a path through the woods to the Appalachian Trail for hiking through the Housatonic River Valley or west to New York. Strawberry Fields Farm is about seven miles south of Kent, CT., and five miles north of Sherman Center.

We offer a lovely country house on almost one-acre of land conveniently located five minutes from the Metro North, Harlem Valley-Wingdale station, or 90-minute drive from NYC. Local ski areas, wineries, adorable Hudson Valley towns (Millbrook, Millerton, Amenia, Kent) are short drives away. The house is three-bedroom, with a basement sleeping area (each with a queen-size bed). It offers all the conveniences required for a comfortable stay. Sleeps 8 comfortably. Fireplace, Kitchen, two bathrooms. There is an outdoor above-ground pool available from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
