Although it's located in the city, the neighborhood is fairly quiet and there is a large, shady front porch, perfect for people watching while reading, drinking coffee in the morning, or relaxing after a day out with a glass of wine. There is also a large backyard and patio area for grilling, relaxing, and dining. Guest AccessGuests have access to all living areas, including living room, dining room, library, kitchen, breakfast nook, back patio, yard, and front porch. If both rooms are booked, all guests will share full bath upstairs and half bath downstairs. If only one room is booked, guests will have full bath to themselves. Interaction with GuestsWe live here with our child and will be home most evenings. We love meeting new people and hearing their stories, but we are also busy. We will take our cues from you - we're around if you want to socialize, but we'll also give you space and privacy if you'd prefer. The house is large enough to accommodate both preferences! The NeighborhoodThe house is located in the West End neighborhood of downtown. It is within walking distance of many amazing restaurants, pubs, a brewery and distillery, a city park, 4 grocery stores, and much more. The city park offers tennis courts, a running track, fields, and more. Getting AroundWake Forest Baptist Hospital is a short walk away. Also nearby (20 minute walk or a very short drive) are the Wake Forest Innovation Quarter, Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts, the Trade Street Arts District, UNCSA Stevens Center, the BB&T Ballpark, and a bit further of a drive (5-8 minutes) are Old Salem Village, Southeastern Center for Contemporary Arts, and Reynolda House Museum and Gardens. Wake Forest University and Winston Salem State University are both approximately a 5-10 minute drive away. The Winston-Salem Open Tennis Tournament at Wake Forest is also a 5-10 minute drive.
Walking and biking to the rest of the West End and downtown are simple! If you have a car, there is plenty of street parking downtown. We have 2 bikes available for use. Airport in Greensboro (25 minutes) and Raleigh (80 minutes). Other Things to NoteLiving at the house are two sweet cats that spend much time outdoors but usually do come in at night. WiFi access throughout house, space in the fridge if needed.
