We provide linens, bathroom towels, soap, and toilet paper to get you started. Bring anything else you would like (shampoo, sunscreen, ect.).
The Rainbow also has other necessities like flashlights, binoculars, board games, and an extensive VHS and DVD collection.
Bring your own firewood or purchase it in the area.
Come relax with family and friends where the Chippewa River meets the Crawford Creek.
We have a patio, chairs, picnic table, outdoor tables, outdoor bar area, various charcoal grills (bring your own charcoal or buy in town) and full access to the river and creek flowing through the property.
We have a variety of canoes and boats to paddle down the river. No motorized boats are allowed on the river. Interaction with GuestsWe do not live on the property full time, we live in the Twin Cities. Although, we hope to be there when you check in to show you around the property and meet you! The NeighborhoodThe Rainbow is on County Road G in Ojibwa, Wisconsin.
It is 30 minutes from Hayward, a fun town with a brewery, cute restaurants, a petting zoo, and various activities.
The Rainbow is 5 minutes from Winter, a small town with a grocery store, a few bars, and a small restaurant.
The location is perfect for outdoor activities like hiking the Tuscobia State Trail, riding ATVs, tubing the river, or sitting by the fire.
Also, the surrounding property is beautiful and full of nature. Guests can enjoy everything from wildflowers to bald eagles. Getting AroundYou can canoe or tube down the river. Feel free to bring a car as there is no public transportation. Other Things to NoteThe Rainbow is a rustic lodge in a naturally incredible location where the Chippewa River meets Crawford Creek. The lodge has been fully renovated, but maintains its rustic roots. Expect a few ladybugs on the windows and mosquitoes around your campfire. We are a charming, no frills, "camp-like" lodge where you can be with your friends and family in the outdoors. Come sit by the fire and listen to the Chippewa river rush by. We would love to meet you.
We have Wi-Fi that works well in the bar area and the upstairs apartment.
Cell service depends on your cellular provider. In our experience, AT&T works and T-mobile does not.
For emergency calls, we have landlines in the bar and kitchen.
Across the creek from The Rainbow, there are two small cabins that we are in the process of renovating. Feel free to check them out and dream about how great they will be next summer!
We do not have satellite TV or cable. There are two televisions on the property, in the east wing and the north apartment. Come enjoy some of our favorite VHS and DVDs, or feel free to bring some along!
The Rainbow has no air conditioning. Most windows have screens and some bedrooms have ceiling fans. There are large fans in the living areas.
